The begining of the movie was cool with the action and special effects, but towards the end, I was waiting for Bruce Willis to show up in the film confused, as it played out in the end like Armagedon-you have to sit thu 10 minutes of unrealistic and cheesy situations that supposedly happen in a one minute time frame of the movie. Felt very ill for paying for this movie-If this is TRULY the way the world is going to end, maybe it's best if we all biff it; seems we haven't learned much in the evolution of our species.

The cast was fabulous! Danny Glover, John Cusack and the rest made up a diverse and talented ensemble.

I seen a few commercials and didn't quite know what to expect it to be like. A little of "Day After Tomorrow" and "Independence Day". Parts of it made me think of the movie "Volcano". I absolutely loved the movie! The whole theater was packed full and all was quiet. Everyone seemed to forget they were even in a movie theater while getting caught in the movie. I'm definately buying when it comes to dvd!

the movie plays on all emotions, fear, anxiety,happiness and dispair. My wife and I viewed the movie and would definately tell our friends and family to go see this cinematic wonder. The special effects were brilliant and the story line holds you captive till the closing credits. The bigger impact it had on myself was the realization that if a total catastrophe were to occur that most of the human race would not be prepared to face the hard times and stress that would insue. This film has something for everyone. The family it follows seems to find each other again through their journey. Several spots made me cry but the overwhelming spirit of survival of humanity overcomes nature. I would highly recommend this film. In fact I think I may go see it again next weekend.

2012 sets itself apart and beyond its predecessors.....Volcano, Dante's Peak, The Core, The Day After Tomorrow, Armageddon, Deep Impact...they all have their highs and lows...and their b-move momoments...but 2012 truly REINVENTS the disaster film genre...it's fantastic. The science works, the special effects are jarring, the actors are great. I really enjoyed Glover's role as the President...and honestly...KUDOS to John Cusack, he really puts things together...fun, believeable, not too serious...but not too silly.

If you came in expecting a movie just like the Day After Tomorrow, like I did, than you cannot truly be disappointed. I think I will be looking into other of Chiswell's work, as he was quite good. Like the others said it was flat, just point A, point B, etc, but the graphics made up for it, I was it was available in IMAX.

This movie was quite spectacular. The effects were outstanding - much more than I was expecting. As far as your typical movie goes, I would rate it about an A-. It had some "cheesy" moments and the 15 minute countdown to the end of the world seemed like it lasted almost an hour! But all in all it's definitely worth seeing in theaters. I was hoping they would focus more on the actual Sun wiping out the world (rather than particles from it making the world wipe itself out) but again, it was a great movie. Loads of action, relatively good dialog with a thrilling plot. Don't miss it!!!

Movie was a whirlwind of excitement from the beginning to the end. Had a little bit of a "Titanic" moment near the end that could have been a little shorter. Just seems a little odd with lovey dovey take time out stuff when your in a hurry to save everyone. Didn't realize the movie was over 2 1/2 hours because it moved so well. Thumbs up from this viewer!!

Great effects, some mushy parts, great characters. It is not Armageddon, but still very enjoyable. Recommend seeing it in the theater. I laughed... I ooo'd and awe'd.... I almost cried. Good ending. Enjoyable.

i have to say it did not live up to expectations. i was upset at how unrealistic this movie really is. i am so scared of the end of the world it is my biggest fear..but this movie didnt scare me. it was fun to watch all the action and explosions but the rest of this movie wasnt really worth it. maybe the next time a movie about the end is created theyll do a better job.
