I loved the movie, the only thing I was disappointed about is they did not play Adam Lamberts video at the end of the movie. That is a beautiful song and i feel they should of played it in the background a little earlier in the ending. Otherwise I think this movie was great and the special effects were mind-boggling. Good action; decent effects. John Cusack lends his normal edgy humor to it. Woody Harrellson's character is a welcome departure for him; albeit a short part in this movie. The concept is one I wouldn't see coming, I'll give it that. I realize the world is supposed to end in 2012 based on the whole legend, but I didn't imagine this interpretation of it. Don't waste your time in a low budge theater for this one; either pay the higher theater cost, or wait and see it on someone's big home theater. Loud is good.

C'mon people, you knew this was not going to be an intellectual film by any stretch of the word. The story line and acting was not the focus here, it was "how sensational can we make this". Who cares if the ground kept falling away after each step, this was mindless escapism entertainment at its best. I agree there was a lot that could have been done with it and it could have been made to be more realistic, but then you wouldn't have gone to see it!

This movie was action packed. It felt like an upgraded Poltergeist with a person figuring out pending disaster and managing to stay 1 step ahead while all around him people suffer. It also felt like a "praise Obama" flick - quite frankly I think he would join the other rich people; not stay behind. This would be a rich person's dream - to rid of poor, "less deserving" people in one huge sweep. The movie ties biblical events in, too. Basically the action was enjoyable, though often far-fetched. It was entertaining. It could have been made a bit more realistically in actions and emotions.

2012 had some spectacular special effects, but the movie itself was a total let down. I had looked forward to this movie for weeks....loved the trailer. Unfortunately the trailer was better than the movie itself, the effects were great but even they were ruined by the horrible story line. The first 40 mins was good, but when I saw helicopers flying animals strapped in slings in the air...you already knew it was going to be some type of Noah's Ark movie. And it was, big huge Arks made of steel--6 of them carrying only the rich and the priviledged to start a new world elsewhere. I was so insulted by the stupidity...and on top if it it was 2.5 hrs--where was the production editor? Should have seen 'Precious' instead.

More Fy, than Sci.. Story has been told before in many ways, but this being along side the Myan "so called" end of world days was pretty good, Special Effects were Excellent, scenery of the areas was great, could have shown more of the world, acting; Well it's a sci-fi Actors don't need to bring their best, but what they brought was very good... definately will recommend it and see it a second time MJ

Unfortunately the makers of this film are riding the coat tails of other authors and ancient civilizations to lure a huge crowd to see this horrible, in my opinion, D movie. I personally watched 3 movies on SyFy channel over the weekend and for the life of me I can't differenciate between those 3 movies and this one. For the price of the ticket and the committment of nearly 3 hours of your time, I would think the show would stand out way above some made for TV versions. Again, don't waste your money, wait until it plays on cable for free. On an off note, A Christmas Carol in 3D was the best movie experience I've ever had. Can't wait until the Avatar movie comes out next month.
