This is a near immaculate addition to the Terminator genre... Amazing effects, great acting, and a plot interwoven with good character development and interaction, it's a four-to-five star addition to this series' ongoing story. Minor editing and soundtrack fixes would have made it completely perfect. Most important however - it stayed true to the other movies, the books, most of the comics, and the television series, and is a great bridge for things to come. Terminator is definately making it's own fate! More!

Terminator Salvation is great action from beginning to finish. Special effects are top notch, and the movie stays true to the Terminator plot. The fact that it tries to bring Arnold back as The Terminator is great but unfortunately not the real deal. In my opinion the only way the movie can get 5 stars is if Arnold is starring in the movie. Good action though and high entertainment value.

This movie is not great cinema but is a lot of fun! Lots of explosions and other entertaining stuff! I had the impression that this would be the end of the series, as did a lot of the people in the theatre, although it seems this is not the case.

Did the writers believe that just blowing stuff up would somehow cover for a bad story. Effects were great. The premise behind the movie is great. But then all these too incredible events occur. As with many prequels (can you say this with this movie?) the "early" machines and technology seems greater. Terminators were almost invincible. A bunch of military personnel not following orders and going on feelings. Open heart surgery done by field surgeons.
I love the first two. The third one fell off and this one real should end the series.

I have no idea why it was called "SALVATION", most would wonder that this would be the end of the series, and yet it leaves you believe that there will be yet another one, this is dragging out too long... Effects were good, Story line was understandable, the whole idea is that John Conner has to save is Teenage father so he can send him to the future to start the original story line... And whats up with John Conner getting the robots heart, now he is somewhat a robot which totally opposes the whole idea of John Conner...

Didn't like how it began. The action was great. Great special effects. Some of the effects reminded me of Transformers. My young son loved it, but said "I wish Arnold was in it". I thought it was great. There were a few inconsistencies regarding weapons and story line, yet the compromises did not really detract from the movie. The acting was good, the plot was good, and the special effects were fun to watch. Hope they get the next one out quickly.

This movie is just what you expect for action flicks these days. Lots of special effects, even if they don't make sense in the plot. Dialogue was often weak, especially when Conner dramatically says "I'll be back." If you just like action, this movie has it, but if you actually want a good story and viable plot, which this could have been, you'll be disappointed.

First, let me say that I was just a tad bit disappointed by the beginning.... I thought they should have lead the viewer to the Jon Connor day more than just text on a screen. Second, the movie depicts the other Terminator shows in similar ways but with some interesting twists that keep you thinking some. There are definitely some holes in the show though. The plot was thin and had inconsistencies with the first two movies, the dialogue was painful at times (particularly in any scene involving the character Marcus), and the action was dull and predictable. This movie as well as Quantum of Suckass and Transformers are all shot in the new suckyshaky-motion style of cinematography. When I was a kid movies had a plot and a story and were intelligently written. They did not depend on the sensationalism style camera work to cover for the lack or story line or talent. I also dont like the fact that 3/4ths of the movies are shot in the dark! How much talent does it take to shoot in the dark? Look for a sequel to this lame action movie, they left room at the end for more!

It was OK - plenty of stuff blowing up for my son - but it didn't get you interested in what was happening - it seemed like they were just going through the motions. Even re-using some of the more famous tag lines wasn't funny. I think they have done one too many versions of this series. I did like the prequel format - but no where near as much as Star Trek. Good movie for DVD night, I think. Many others agree as the theater was mostly empty on Friday night!

I mean, how do you top the first two in this franchise? Seriously, Schwarzenegger is what made Terminator so popular to begin with...not trying to take anything away from Bale or Worthington, but even the combination of the two couldn't muster enough excitement out of me to enjoy it the same way. Acting wasn't superb, however the action was good enough. With the other 3 in this franchise, you also got the "impending doom of an utter end", with this, the end has already come...soooo...blaaahhhh...nothing more. Now everyone is just trying to survive. Big whoop. I don't know, it was OK, just doesn't knock your socks off.

I watch a lot of science fiction films. Some scenes of this movie had a certain feel to it that reminded me of previous films, like mad max (Marcus driving the truck), the scene where Connor, Kyle and Star were in the terminator making assymbly line reminded me of the scene form Aleins when Ripley found hersellf in the alien egg hive. The scene where Marcus looks down at his cyborg freak body was terrifying . I really like Sam Worthington, he pulled me into the movie the same way I got pulled in by Micahel Biehn in T1. The visuals, colors , sound was awsome. The robots were just like the transformers but they were dark , grey, cold.

After watching all the trailers and clips possible I had high hopes for this movie. I wasn't necessarily disappointed I just wasn't stuck to the screen like I thought I would be. I feel like they used too much CGI and Director McG did a mediocre job. The guy knows how to direct an action scene don't get me wrong but when it comes to deep dialogue, don't expect any. Notable performance by rising star Sam Worthington.

I didn't go into the movie expecting a lot, especially after reading the reviews. Poor dialog, acting and plotting. Great special effects, go see it if you really need some mindless action.

Well aside from watching the extremely unlikely survivors utilize unlimited resources to take on the big bad computer and it's 10 available robots this movie made me want to get up and leave. The movie was drawn out, predictable, unrealistic, and lacking in realistic action scenes. At least the special effects looked pretty cool. Nothing I'd say needed to be saw on the big screen, but hey, I got the ticket for free using the "fill out an offer" deal going on.
