This movie provides exactly what you expect in a Terminator movie. Tons of action, senseless gorry violence, great special effects, awesome fights and all in a pretty easy follow plot. One should have seen the other movies to really understand what's going on, but not truly essential. Would've liked to see more Arnold in it as an army of Terminators, but Christian Bale fills the space evacuated by Arnold and makes a good leading action man. I'd recommend this movie to anyone looking for a dark, action movie. Oh, and the love interest is Hottt.

My family really enjoyed this. Of the 4 terminator movies (we re-watched the first 3 recently so my teenage kids had all the background info), this is definitely the best....reasonable plot with a few nice twists and lots of action.....just what the doctor ordered.

You will enjoy the movie if you just like plenty of explosions and clever effects, however the plot was weak, infallible hunter killer machines that cant take out a single human(iod) in open ground??????? Christian Bale does not engage as John Connor and you feel more empathy with Marcus Wright. Terminator 2 is still the definitve movie in the series this was better than 3 but still falls short.

I am not usually one to get into action/fighting movies, but I REALLY enjoyed this one! I loved the ending and I loved the special effects! It kept me interested the entire time and if another one came out, I'd go to see it!

T2 was great with the special effects - this one was not. Christian Bale is a favorite actor of mine, but he wasn't really starring in this one. Poor story line. This movie is all over the place. It is essentially a zombie movie with robots instead. Most of the action scenes are people getting abruptly taken from places, just like in a zombie movie where the zombie jumps out and grabs an unsuspecting person. The other major issue I had was that no one in this post apocalyptic earth has seen a movie that featured a post apocalyptic earth. They all do such stupid things, just like characters in a zombie movie do.
The previews would have you believe that this is a John Connor movie. It is barely a john connor movie, and you'll barely care.

I hate sequels as a rule but this is an exception. This is worthy edition to the Terminator franchise. In short it was action packed and fun to watch. Something I will also own on DVD.

After being only somewhat stimulated to see this flick by the watching the trailers me and my wife who did not want to see it went. I must say I found myself on the edge of my seats during several sequences. At time I gazed over at her and she was locked into the movie as well. So overall we were both very pleased with how Terminator Salvation turned out. This is definetly good stuff for all you action junkies out there. GO SEE IT, YOU WONT BE LET DOWN!!!

Almost boring. Promises so much more than it delivers. You root more for Marcos and his quest for humanity than John Connor who is already human (sort of), mostly because he is played by the always wooden Christian Bale, but also because he is more a narcissist than someone with a deep love for his kind. See Star Trek first, and if this is still around and you can't get tickets to Transformers or GI Joe and you really want to see stuff blow up, OK. But if you're interested in that whole man vs the system thing, perhaps surrogate might be better. Perhaps they will stop at T4, I certainly have had enough.

I've seen all the T movies numerous times and this wasn't even close. The action was lackluster and slow paced compared to the competition in this genre. And the scene with Arnie - was that from a previous movie? or an animation? I would not buy this movie to add to my Teminator collection. My girlfriend and I went to go see this movie after me ate dinner to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Going into the movie, I was really excited, however, my girlfriend thought she was not going to like it. Well....when we got out she said that she couldn't believe that she actually liked it! She said, "It had my full attention through the whole movie!" Bottom line, great movie with a cool surprise towards the end!

It's never a good sign when you're laughing (at, not with) during an action movie. We've seen enough post-apocalyptic movies to know that fuel and ammo are precious resources, yet they blow through them with impunity in this movie. The Sam Worthington character appears out of the wilderness, hasn't a clue about Judgment Day, and Kyle doesn't even ask him his name? Please. And the machines? Ruthlessly efficient killers--unless they are shooting at one of the main characters. Connor says he has to save Kyle because "our future depends on it." What, is he going to disappear like Marty McFly if his parents don't meet and have s*x in a motel room? Wait for the DVD.

If you like nonstop action, then this is your movie. Lots of chasing, fighting, and new machines to be afraid of. Great action scenes and of course lots of things blowing up! I loved the little extras thrown in there from the previous movies too. I didn't give this a five star rating though because in many respects it did repeat what the others have done in the past. A terminator helps the humans and shows what humanity is all about and the final battle sequence takes place in a factory. In fact, some of the final scenes were almost exact copies of the first movies. Just wish the writers could come up with something more original. But overall, I did like the movie and if you are a fan of the series, you shouldn't miss this one.

This movie was absolutely fantastic! This is the future movie we've all been waiting for. The visuals were awesome and the references from the past movies really pulled this film together. Christian Bale brought to life the TRUE John Connor just as he did The Dark Knight. Loved the Arnold cameo but the only problem I had with it was the endoskeleton was too big and did not stay true to the original 1984 T-800 101. All in all this is the best of the series IMO and we can only hope for another.

This film was acceptable up until the last 10 minutes. At that point, the film completely fell apart.
I've waited 20 years to see a movie about the future John Conner. What they delivered in this film was... well, it's as if they wrote the script while out drinking at the bar, took the easy way out of everything and wrote it to appeal to the lowest common denominator of human beings.

The film is really awful. The soundtrack didn't capture the magic of the first two. The characters were weak and poorly acted. The script had so many plot holes. The overall direction of this film was just poorly executed. The small fragments of the Future Wars in Terminator 1 were so much more powerful than any frame of this film. I really wanted to like this film but sadly, it underwhelmed. A waste of $11.00. If you really need to see this one for yourselves, rent it at the $1.00 Redbox machine.

This is a serious and gritty movie with some very good action scenes. There are some technicalities that made me say "Huh?" but they do not detract from the overall experience. Excellent climax for Endoskeleton fans. Sam Worthington's character is the best part of the plot, and he nails his role. The Kyle Reese character as written is more victim than soldier; as played it reminds me too much of Frodo. The script lacks the cuteness of T3. The soundtrack adds to the experience but is not overwhelming. I am an Arnold fan but this movie does not suffer without his physical presence. I will see this movie again.

This movie was very well done, it incorporated all of the elements from the previous movies as well as explaining John Conners past, present & future as well as his father's, Kyle Reese. Christian Bale is powerful in his portrayal as John Conners. If you are a Terminator fan, please go see, you won't be disappointed!

A great story telling of the time period just before Conner becomes the resistance leader. I was glad that it was told in a new way to match with the new characters added to the story and with the new time period. There are tons of "easter eggs" throughout the movie from the previous ones that I loved, the cameo from Arnold was BRILLIANT! This was an amazing addition to the series and I look forward to the next one!

Terminator Salvation, the next chapter in the franchise. To be truthful, I wasn't disappointed at all. Non stop action throughout as well as new versions of machines to show. The movie doesn't really focus on the human stories that much. We can obviously tell that Kate Brewster is pregnant with the first of John Connor's children, but none of the characters seem to notice or give reference to. Since it is the beginning days of the war, the current machine infantry are the T-600's mentioned in the first movie. But later you will experience the birth of the famous T-800 model as well as the famous governator of California. Great homages to the first movies and great action mixed in. Every fan should at least see this one.

There was loads of action in this blockbuster of one of the biggest summers for action movies ever!!! Cant wait for Transformers and GI Joe!!!
