Like a movie critic once said, "Too much wow, not enough ow". Though the effects are great, the characters seem very shallow and stiff. It seems as if at every turn the director is saying, "Okay, you should be feeling the character's emotion by now, let's move on" before anything actually happens. Arnold's intensity of character -- beyond all special effects -- is what made the original Terminators a success, and he has left some pretty big shoes to fill.

It as a stand alone movie is really great. I think it is good action packed excitement that follows the story line nicely.
Where is Claire Dane? When we left the third Terminator John Connor's tough wife was suppose to take over the resistance and stand as a soldier by John's side. I am not sure they gave the new actress playing his wife any lines.

Terminator Salvation most certainly salvaged what could have been a horrible trilogy. The third in the seriesbrought back into play more machine/human fights. At times it was very Matrix and other times very Transformer like. The plot was a given as it was truly the next evolution in the series of machines. All told we'd see it again and take freinds.

I thought I was going to a movie, but the first 45 minutes seemed more like a video game advertisement than a feature film. I like action, but this was non-stop cartoon-like action with no discernable plot. The dialog they do have is boring and you don't care about the people.
The technology backdrop was laughable. It takes place just 9 years from now, yet they have all kinds of robotic hovercraft, etc. But amid all this sophistication, the hero can break into skynet with a pen knife and some aligator clips.
The first terminator had plenty of action, but it also had a plot and made you think. This one just makes you wish you waited for the sure-to-be-released video game and gave that to your kids instead.

this was an excellent movie. from start to finish non stop action. kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was gonna happen next. I don't know what all these people are saying when they say this has a weak storyline. If you know your Terminator movies, everything should fall into place. I almost didn't go see this movie at the theater because of the reviews, but I decided to go so I could see the special effects on a big screen. Boy am I glad I did, this movie was awesome, I loved it and not because of the special effects. Not disappointed at all. If you are a Terminator fan go see it at the theater.

I thought that Terminator was ok. But if you didn't see the others you would be extremly lost. It had good sound and picture effects it had some language but not outragous language.It is worth renting!

I thought this movie would've been a lot better with more ladies in it. Kristanna should have starred and I also think that the computerized arnold was absolutely pointless in the movie. what a pile of doo doo. ive been a fan of the terminator movies since the beginning. but this was 2nd rate. slow . boring. nothing new either is special effects besides arnold . and that was so obviously filmed in a way to try and be that it was really him. should have done better at not trying to hide it. after all . he is a machine. im a big fan of Chuck , the tv show on nbc. which is a McG product as well as terminator being directed by him. but i had to crack up. i did. laughing in the theater. near the end when john connor was working on the computer :in Chuck, its called the intercept. wow. i thought that was too funny. i even think john connor blinked just like chuck did

The focus and plot of this film deviates from the "premise" established by the first three movies. We are given a larger world view of John Connor's life after Judgment Day. The focus is more on the human Resistance against SkyNet, rather than showcasing the tension of a killer machine hunting down its target with the sole intention of terminating that person. This movie loses a lot by deviating from that established premise.
John Connor comes off as a supporting character here, the focus being more on Marcus Wright and Kyle Reese. There is no build-up to a climactic showdown between the terminator and its target, which was the strength of the original three films.

Everyone or most everyone it seems, agrees that visually the flick is a killer. Storywise there's logic and crediblity problems. First we needed a far more comprenhensive primer to remind us the plotting from the prior three. That could have been done during the titles with clips from the original trilogy and with Linda Hamilton's voiceover as Sarah Conners getting us all up to speed. Then we would know exackly where we are storywise and how the adult John Conners could possibly be in the same timeline as his teenage Father, Also why was Skynet collecting human beings instead just killing them. We never got to that. Many others problems too with the scenerio too numerous to delve into in this micro mini review.

The plot was thin, the action was so so, and I really didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed Star Trek. I mean, Terminator Salvation is a good movie, not a great one. I'm glad I only spent $6 on my ticket when I attend a weekend show before 12 noon.

Great movie overall, I thought it was an appropriate step in the Terminator series. Main story was non-stop action and suspensful. The movie did lack in the area of a sub-story, it seemed to make an attempt at romance between two characters. But the attempt seem to lack substance and never really took off or took hold.

Great movie, unexpected plot totally worth seeing. Christian bale does a wonderful job playing the role of the grown up Resistance fighter John Conner. The surprise was the Machine "The Machine" his struggle to face his mortality and the bond that came from it with the characters in their supporting roles was very good. This movie is a winner My 18 year old and 9 year old truly enjoyed it as did I.
