We waited too long for them to come up with a script with so many holes. This movie could’ve been, & should've been about Marcus, how he evolved; infiltrating, etc. John Conner could've appeared as the main character in the next version. I blame the director. He should’ve done better at developing the story line and editing. One minute John is on the top of a pit, then in the sewer - too much jumping around, and a human fighting a terminator?? The action was good though, but come on, the "heart restart"?! Then, this same guy has a new life, a new hot girl, & gives it all up - for what? I’m disappointed...I would’ve waited another year for a better rewrite.

The special FX had nothing on T2 or 3 which frankly was a major let-down. The story line was weak.
I love a good shoot'em up eye candy flick, but this fell way short of the way I felt when I saw T2 and that's all this movie has. No surprises, no wow factor.
The best part of the movie was Sam Wortington's role and how he portrayed it. Christian Bale did not bring anything new to the party except the leftover deep voice from Batman.
This could have been a better, even great movie. I still haven't decided whether I would have waited for the video. If your looking for the resurrection of the Terminator series of movies, unfortunately this was not it. Catch a matinee save your money.

So it isn't quite the movie that it's cracked up to be, but it was still Good. I have to say that Christian Bale did a good job, but not quite great like in Batman. The plot did suffer a bit also, but stylistically and graphically it was stunning.
Young Kyle Reese really was a fantastic actor and added to the movie as did Sam Worthington. Sam Worthington/Marcus totally stole the show from John Connor, but still, Terminator Salvation stayed true to the previous movies and had some really good moments.

Alright, so I agree with the others that said this film fell short of my expectations. However, the acting on the part of Christian Bale (John Connor) and Anton Yelchin (Kyle Reese) were spot on.
The special effects were very advanced and greatly appreciated.
They took story from the Terminator Books as well as created story of their own. Now, they did stay true to mythology of the Terminator movies.
I would still recommend people see this movie and decide for themselves how they feel, because I really did enjoy it.

Terminator Salvation was cool but it fell short of my expectations. From the trailer, ad campaign, and history of the series, I thought this movie was going to be totally awesome!
However, when I came out of the theater I felt short changed. Granted, the special effects were sweet. But that's not the only reason I go to the cinema.
Christian Bale's performance was the best thing about this prequel. The story was predictable, too simple, and a little illogical. If all the elements were as good as Christian, this flic would have been an A+ in my book.
Fortunately, this installment didn't completely wreck the Terminator franchise for me. When the next film is released, I'll Be Back!

It stays right in line with the original story line. It really doesn't feel like they are reinventing the series, it's more of a reawakening. I hope they make more! Three was weak, I agree. But don't believe the bad wrap it has already started to get. If you liked the first two, you should love this.

Good action, but at times you could tell the scene was shot on a stage. And a couple of scenes the CG wasn't the greatest, and things didn't look "real" enough. Oh, and the commercials give away almost the entire story. The story itself also has a few plot holes that make you say "Huh?".

I am a huge fan of Christian Bale. I think he is a very underrated actor, and I watch everything he is in because I admire him so much. This movie was good, but it didn't really have a plot. I felt bad for Bryce Dallas Howard because she was just a presence. The film tried to pay homages to the original Terminators, and I appreciate the effort, but it could have been done better. It bugged me how famous lines were requoted and the "surprise Schwarzenegger cameo" was dumb. Sarah Connor's messages for John were useless. It is a good movie but I think that the Terminator movies belong to James Cameron.

Terminator Salvation is loaded with action and all of the post-apocalyptic eye candy we've been desperate for ever since we watched skulls being crushed in the original. But with John Connor's role padded to attract Christian Bale, the movie attempts to tell two stories, both unsuccessfully. The plot is non-existent, and the movie's only twist was revealed in the trailer.
The last action scene is a treat for fans of the original, but the film has one of the worst endings ever shot. It doesn't insult the intelligence, it stabs it in the throat and leaves it to die by the side of an abandoned road.

Terminator Salvation is by no means a bad movie but definately a disapointing one. Christian Bale had a chance to revive yet another beloved franchise, but a predictable plot and subpar writing bury this film in the average category. McG directs the action scenes beautifully, opting to use extended shots instead of the typical action movie style of letting each shot last approximately 2 seconds. It's refreshing and kept my interest up for a while.

I read a review in my newspaper and this got two stars. The reviewer started by saying, I've never been to a terminator movie before but... Then they went on to say how the movie had too much grey and shades of brown. I wanted to slap the reviewer and say WAKE UP the world has just been destroyed by a nuclear armagedon, we're still experiencing black rain and you want blue skys and green grass? Why can't these people stay home and keep their opinions to themselves? The movie was great go see it.

ive seen all Terminator movies.. but this one... seriously PREDICTABLE. there was no suspense story-wise. This wasn't the best work of Bale either. I did not go into this movie with high expectations for a clever plot or amazing acting. I was wrong about both - the story line is coherent and climactic and the actors, especially Christian Bale and Sam Worthington, are great. I am surprised that there are no large scale futuristic war scenes, but instead a picture of a desperate and severely weakened resistance is drawn, which adds to the overall atmosphere of the movie. And of course, there are plenty of references to the first three movies that alone would make this film worth seeing.

No, Terminator Salvation is not as good as T1 or T2, but it is certainly better than the mediocre third installment. Christian Bale does well as John Conner, but it is Sam Worthington that steals the show with his portrayal of Marcus Wright. The dialogue may not be anything impressive, but the script works well enough and there's plenty of great action and special effects. This movie is more than an action adventure. It's a study into the character and moral fortitude of the man John Connor.The story explains why he is the one that will lead the resistance, demonstrates that there is a time when one must usurp authority; to do what is right even though you put yourself on the line and doing so could cost you everything. Rated at PG-13 which is okay for teens, This film has excellent special effects, and computer generated imagery. My only complaint is that I couldn't see it on an IMAX screen. This film deserves high praise and in my opinion is the best of the four.

While the plot in this movie is fair you can't help noticing exactly what's going to happen scene after scene after scene. The action is definitely there, but all the events were pale compared to my forethought of what the movie would be like. I think Christian Bale did a good job acting(as always).. but there's only so much you can do with a mediocre movie.
This summer seems to be suffering from bad cgi, first Wolverine and now Terminator. Oh wait! Star Trek had wonderful cgi!!!

This movie was mediocre, the acting reminded me a lot of The Day the Earth Stood Still... It could have been better and I wish I didn't waste $10.50 to see it.

Yes there are a couple negatives to this movie, but those are so minute that they aren't worth mentioning...This movie was incredible!
The sounds were amazing, and somewhat frightening! The way the movie was filmed made me feel as if I was there. If you go see this movie...go see it in an IMAX sized screening!
The plot was great...especially for those who don't know what's coming. Unfortunately I read a lot about this movie to know the whos and whats of the plot...so nothing came to me as a surprise.
