I think critics are giving this movie a lot of heat for no reason....ok its not as good as T1 or T2 but its way ahead of the curve compared to T3....it got a lot of things right and a lot of things wrong but I felt as an action movie it was great. There were efinitely some jaw dropping set pieces such as the harvester sequence. The fight with the T-800 at the end was cool and bringing arnie back was a good nod to the earlier flicks...overall a great popcorn flick but dont go in expecting much character exposition or story...this is a summer flick...the dark knight was an exception not the rule...

When I heard this was coming out I was so fired up...but this movie was awful. I LOVED T1 & T2. But T3 was bad & this was the worst yet. What a terrible idea to make it PG-13. The plot was muddled, riddled with holes & inconsistancy & cheesiness. The special effects were ok, but limited in gore due to being pg-13, and really had nothing on the special effects of T2 which came out in 1992. 17 years and no progress? A real letdown for anyone who was part of the T1 & T2 generation.

I would give this 3.5 stars if I could. The action sequences and effects are great, but the plot is a little iffy. Also, some of the plot points have gaping holes - talking about HKs having infrared and then proceeding to build big bonfires - things like that. (I'll avoid the gaping one at the end to keep this spoiler-free.) It's a nice diversion for two hours, but if you're reasonably intelligent a lot of it will be semi-annoying.

Sam Worthington and Christian Bale do a wonderful job of carrying the torch nicely. While Bale was not as tortured a soul as I thought he should have been given the past stories where Connor didn't want the responsibility or tried to out run it, he chooses to embrace it in this film. While I thought that added the acceptance that is needed to carry the franchise forward, it would have been nice to know that his present still holds some issue for him beyond the weight of savior. Still, the various references to tie all the movies together was great to see and the action was amazing. I think that Sam Worthington stole every scene he was in - great casting. Already looking forward to the next one.

As a huge fan of the Terminator series (we'll forgive the first one... it was made in 1984 after all) While it IS entertaining, it really doesn't FEEL like the Terminator series. The seriousness level has been ramped up so high that there isn't a laughable moment in the movie to help you along with the heavy content (outside of the cheesy throwback references to 'I'll be back' and 'Come with me if you want to live.') Marcus' character was the only one halfway interesting and even his character I felt should have been explored to a greater degree. This was a very safely scripted movie. All this to say- this movie is entertaining and is worth a viewing, but you'd be better of to wait for DVD. Hopefully they'll do better on the next sequel.

Terminator Salvation was a pretty good movie. Good casting with some good acting as well. Action scenes were good but at times tried to hard and over saturated the overall movie with them. Also it did a great job of including past Terminator stuff into the movie but kind of was confusing with all the new types of terminator and was not clear on how and what could defeat the terminators like the first 3 films. If your a Terminator fan, and action movie fan or a Christian Bale fan its a must see. Not the best of the summer blockbusters but should place in the top 5.

Usually with remakes and movies based on old films there isn't any thought into what went into the older versions of the movie. Most of the time, there is new money and so the producers think they can make new bad film. This was not the case with T4. I think this was a well put together film. The acting, as usual with Christian Bail, was superb and the new story line was very well thought out. The action was top notch, visually pleasing, and amazingly put together.

I've read some of the negative reviews and they are just not warranted. This new version leaves off with the machines running the show and takes us on a action packed ride through apocalyptic California. The CGI is just enough to make it all believable. Definatley a must see and one of this year's top movies.

I really enjoyed this movie, I liked how they tied the previous movies to this one. If you paid attention in the previous ones, there are minute details that are explained, but you need to have paid attention to the others to get it! I liked it and will see it again.

As a casual fan of the series, after reading the terrible reviews for this movie I went in with low expectations. I'm happy to say that I was very suprised by the movie. I was hooked from the opening until the ending. All the elements of a summer blockbuster terminator movie were there: characters that you get attached to, constant action, surprises that make you jump, and then there's that element of "wow" that you feel when you leave the theatre. Bottom Line, I had a great time at this movie and if you like action flics then you will like this one too. On a side note, if you have never seen any of the previous terminator movies it would help if you at least watched the first movie. I had a good time watching this fun flic.

Been a fan of the Terminator franchise for years so naturally I was looking forward to this movie for some time. However the end result left me disappointed. There needs to be so much more to a movie, even glitzy summer blockbusters, than just explosions and eye candy. It must have a soul and this comes up lacking even a mechanical one. Many recent movies lack solid editing or “flow” and so did this one. It felt choppy, fractured, and at times hard to follow. I often felt there were scenes missing or truncated and not all of the visual effects worked. If you were a fan of the original and T2, don’t go see this movie expecting past glory. It’s long gone. Save your money and see Star Trek instead.

The action was awesome. All the action was intense giving the audience that "thrill ride." The motorcycle robots were sick! There was more focus on Marcus and I think Sam Worthington did a phenomenal performance. Christian Bale did well holding to the "leader" role John Conner becomes. I agree with one of the other reviews that I think the sound effects hit a resonance frequency. We were joking that Bale was going to pull the bat mobile out of no where. "Fudge you robots I'm going batman on you."

- T3 indicates Kate Brewster (Connor's wife) is his #2 LT, not a pregnant surgeon, perhaps this will be left for T5? - I didn't know Marcus was ever a part of the the Terminator series, but he was a great addition. - T4 depicts Connor as almost a renegade noncommissioned officer actively defying his own commanders. - Kyle Reese needs to remain in future movies. - More tribulation for the Resistance in future Terminator movies - Didn't really try to insert stupid comic relief lines in a serious action movie as some directors allow. - Screaming while shooting a Terminator is sorta lame. - Well-developed crash scenes from the characters point of view; you can almost feel the crash as its happening - Keep McG on as the director.

This was a interesting take on the rise of the machines. They do a good job developing Worthingtons char and he by far out shines Christian Bale in my view. Bale was good in his roll, but didn't add a lot of spark to the movies really. The special effects are of corse very top notch. A couple of the air shots could of been a little more detailed/sharp.
All in all this is a solid movie and worth seeing on the big screen. Just go with the mindset your there for a good action movie and not a good story. Hopefully they will finally rap things up in the next or so and not leave it in the big loop. Only reason i gave it 4/5 stars is because i was hoping for a rap up, but if they plan on more movies then it's fine.

I tried hard not to watch this movie with preconceived notions, but I did and I was thoroughly delighted. The movie was awesome and am glad terminator will live on. Some of the screen shots were a wee bit choppy, overall however, the action, acting and story was awesome. All that and a bag of Doritos!!

was freakin sweet. watched all 3 before we went to see it and was happy that i did. caught a few things i probably would have otherwise missed. Im a terminator fan for life.

Good action sequences, but not much else. Bale just didn't work for me, which is odd, because I love him as Batman. Probably not his fault, though; Connor just wasn't given enough to do. Dallas-Howard barely has a speaking role.

I really enjoyed it! It was very action packed, but still had a good plot line. The acting and special effects were excellent. I thought the appearance of (spoiler warning) the current CA governor was humorous and left me wondering if perhaps Chrisitian Bale will one day assume the office :)
