Did I watch the same movie as some of you who didn't like it?
There were clear tie-ins to the first two movies sprinkled throughout. Ex: The coat Kyle Reese gets from Marcus and John is like the one in the original. The T800 scene is remeniscent of T1 movie. In T1 Kyle mentions that he had driven once before to Sarah- we see that scene in this movie. The one-liners and oh yah. . . Arnie!!!
These were observations my buddies and I notice while watching the movie. This movie is also introducing all the characters whether they be human or robotic.
Conner is supposed to play a smaller role in this movie. His character becomes more central in the next two movies. Also, those plot holes will be filled in those as well.

First off, I don't like Christian Bale at all, and fortunately his presense is rather limited. The entire storyline is around the Marcus and Reese (Checkov in Startrek) characters, which is just plain AWESOME! It's the ending that is preventing me from giving it 5 stars. I would have much rather lost John Connor than lose Marcus, but what's done is done. The movie follows the original storyline and does not take anything from "The Sarah Connor Cronicles", another loss.

As usual the previews hyped the movie a lot more than it delivered. The special effects were good and the plot was expected but it stretched my imagination a little too much. To ensure I won't give too much away, I'll stop. I found the movie entertaining but I could have waited for the DVD.

Sadly, this piece largely failed in the "EPIC" category it so aptly aims for. Everything about this movie needed work. Sure there's lots of robots and explosions but this will never be a classic film. Looked like more of a "Wow, it's on cable TV" type franchise version than anything else.

This movie was a huge disappointment. No real villian to attach to, the story was all over the place, no one put on a great character performance, and Christina Bale was lackluster in his depiction of John Connor. The worst of all the Terminator films by far.

As a major fan of the Terminator Franchise, I came into the movie theater with so many expectations. I am a huge Micheal Biehn/Kyle Reese fan so I was of course very excited to see how the role of Reese would play out and what it would be like when John finally met his father. I must say that I was NOT disappointed. I felt Terminator Salvation was done very well. The idea that the actions of T2 changed the future and Skynet has failed on so many different levels to kill John Connor is fantastic. I loved the Marcus Wright character. Thanks for a GREAT MOVIE. I WANT MORE!!

Great film!
The exploration of ones inner nature for any good that remains behind the eyes of the monster in the mirror, especially during events of an epic scale... wow! The CGI cameo of the T-800 we're all familiar with was awesome and although I felt it was needed... was yet unexpected!
Several tributes paying homage to the previous films were done with class. For the lack of a better end quote at the moment... I'll paraphrase from a different universe, "the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the one". Well done, and thank you for yet another entertaining film in this franchise.

I have been waiting years for this movie to come out. It did not let me down. It was phenomenal. Especially after seeing T3, I was worried that it would be corny or have cheesy effects. Boy, was I wrong.
The Casting was phenomenal and Christian Bale gave a stunning performance.
Terminator 2 was my favorite movie, but now I think I have a new favorite.
Even my girlfriend liked it and she usually hates sci-fi. I'd definitely see it again and buy it on DVD to add to my movie library.

Overall the movie was very well done and was very enjoyable to watch. It definately steps it up from T3, which was on the lame side (in my opinion). I went to see it on the Ultra Screen (Marcus theater) and that really did it service. The special effects and sounds were awesome!

Great movie can't wait to see more. To those reviews that say there are plot holes you must not have paid attention to the movie or have not seen the other films. Really enjoyed the character of Marcus. The complaints about the mobility of the machines are ridiculous as the movie clearly portrays the evolution of the terminators and does go on to include the T800 terminators we all love. Looking forward to more in the series!

Terminator Salvation had poor directing, poor storytelling, and overall poor production. The brief battle at the beginning of T2: Judgment day trumps anything Salvation attempted. Note to director, learn how to direct action, or get out of my favorite franchise.

I have always thought that they should take the Terminator story into the future and Hollywood has finally done it. The action sequences are very cool and the acting is excellent. I wish they would not have revealed the fact that Marcus was part machine in the trailers for this movie. Its obvious that the writer intended that to be an important surprise in the plot. Very enjoyable movie. Hope they continue this branch of the story line.

I tthought this move was awesome! Great action sequences, explosions, etc. Christian Bale does a great job as John Connor and I thought that Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright was great. I will probably go and see this movie another time or two in the theatre.

Bale is strong, unemotional when he needs to be, and very capable as John Connor. Sam Worthington is now one of my favorite actors! Everyone involved did a great job of conveying the desperation and fight to save humanity from the machines. When I heard about this T being done I could not imagine it without its original actor, but survive it does. I recommend TS to everyone. You’ll be drawn into another world. It’s fast paced, heart stopping action from the get go. There were a few scenes that made me jump. It is more than a story made for the sake of blowing things up and gratuitous violence. It is a story of compassion and hope and how in the face of doom and uncertainty we must not stoop to become what we detest. Five stars.

this was among the better movies i've seen, and i've seen a lot of movies. among the terminator series only judgment day was better. i'm really glad they recycled the lines. it's not like Pirates where they only did it in a few movies, but the "Come with me..." and "i'll be back lines" needed to be in there and they did it well. overall i'd say it's almost worth the $11 you pay to see it at AMC in my town, and that's sayin something i think.

It's action packed from beginning to end, constant shocks coming at you. You never know what's going to happen. No lulls in this movie, no time to be bored. I'm not a terminator fan but I really liked this movie. Worth the 9.50 I spent.

It was incredible to see the universe created where machines run things. It was nice to see more of the interworkings of skynet. T2 will be the best one but I was quite satisfied with TS and where we are headed. Christian Bale is a great actor and I enjoyed the relationship between John Connor and a very young kyle reese. This is a great movie in its own rite. If you are a fan of the series, there are numerous tributes paid to the other terminator films.

Well, saw it last night. Was very excited to see it. The action was fun overall, however tons of plot holes. Like were they aware that Kyle Reese was his father or did they know he was important only. Either way, why not just kill him anyway. The Terminators were slow and easy to kill. And Why do they throw humans around, I mean, your a big bad scary machine, just kill them and not toy with them like a cat toying with a mouse. Marcus Wright was way more interesting and had more screen time than Connor. Bale was awful...played Connor too cocky and self-serving. I did like the guy who played Kyle Reese (I think he was also in the new Star Trek). Overall they should not make any more of these movies until they can get it right.

If you love the first two films, just know that this is not anything that will touch them. As far as science fiction goes, lots of people will know about Terminator. James C. did a great job with little money on the first film. T2 as well as Aliens is another couple of big names. The Third Terminator was passable, but nothing great. I wanted to like this film, but the combination of bad Writing and Directing made that impossible. McG is a somewhat new director (the Charlies Angels films), and maybe should be cut some slack, but then again I wouldn't have thrown such a big franchise for him to mess up.

We took 6 - 12 year old boys to opening night, along with two adults. They LOVED it - thought the special effects were awsome. It was not too violent for this age group - while also entertaining the adults. a Definate must see

This movie should have been all the movie and more. Over acting actors (Bryce Dallas Howard - "Total Recall") and unnecessary characters (Star). Beginning of the movie was confusing, it had nothing to do withprior story line, we don't find out the why Marcus is who he is. The continuity of the movie was good until the Hunter Killers rounded up people like cattle for non explained reasons instead of just killing everyone like they should have. Towards the last half of the move is when the campy-ness starts and goes from an energetic movie to a Sci-fi channel special. To sum it up, if you are willing to let plot holes go and forgive sub-par acting it's a fun ride, otherwise you'll just get aggravated at McG's lame direction attempt.

that is all i liked very dark and deep i wouldnt go back to see this even if u paid me....its sad Bale really carried the whole movie by himself the rest limp

The movie was a great end or begining to a the terminators, it was like a prequil and closer at the same time. Lots of action and fun.

The year 2009. The movie "Terminator Salvation." Incredible special effects, great story line. Great intro to the Terminators of the past. Christian "Le Resistant" Bale did a great job, but Sam "Cyborg" Worthington absolutely stole the leading role, and gotta love Moon "Does Your Body" Bloodgood. Can't wait for the next showdown against Man vs Machine.
