A fair / good summer movie. The film is all action with little to offer in the way of plot or character development. One comment - Christian Bale played this part like a robot, so it is difficult to see the difference between the machines and his acting. He should have played the role of the terminator.

My son and I really enjoyed this movie. The effects are spectacular and the storyline is good, if not somewhat implausible. Totally perfect for an 11 year old boy (and his Dad). Considering that this is the third sequel, they are stretching the franchise a bit but it is still good summer fun.

If you saw the trailer for this movie, then you saw the high points of the film. This movie sucked so bad I was furious! No plot, no memorable characters (except maybe the little mute girl) and the action was pasted together like a bad Youtube video. I wish FOX hadn't cancelled Sarah Connor Chronicles, because that tv show beat this movie hands down. Skip this movie and see Star Trek again or wait for Tranformers 2 or GI Joe!!!

Lots of good action, but unfortunately short on fun. Christian Bale is in full-Batman mode, growling and scowling and being very intense... I love him, but the dude has to lighten up a bit! Sam Worthington is good (and very pretty), but needs to work a little on covering up that lovely Aussie accent of his. Bryce Dallas Howard... I don't generally have a problem with her as an actress, but I just didn't buy her in this role. She's just a little too perfectly made-up and styled for this post-apocalyptic world. Script is weak but serviceable for setting up action set pieces. Time travel stuff, as always, is convaluted at best. Strongest thing about the film for me was Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese, John Connor's past-future-father.

I think the movie is much better than T3 but not at the same level at T1 - T2. Effects are good. But it is devoid of any emotion. Christian Bale performance is more machine like. I would not ask anyone to see this movie unless the viewer is a big Terminator fan.

I loved this movie. It had great action and good story. It was even able to keep continuity with the previous films, for example: It explains how John got the scar on his face as seen in a previous film. The only thing I was disappointed about was the lack of lasers and night battles as seen in previous films.

The movie was good, I was just hopeing that this was going to rap up the story but now there will be a Terminator 5 and hopefully that will be the end. Plus the CGI Arnold wasn't that great. I thought out of all of the Terminator movies this was the second best. It might have been the best, topping the first one had they not cast Christian "Douche Bag" Bale as the newest of all the sub par actors to play John Connor. I was waiting for him (Bale) to put on a black mask and turn to someone and say "I'm Batman" and then flip out on them during the whole movie. I still wouldn't be surprised if he does after the credits.

The best is definitely yet to come with the Terminator series, this movie is the first in a whole new trilogy which should be really good. The film has great, gritty action scenes but the Marcus Wright story is what gives it its heart.

There were some very good scenes and I really enjoyed the plot with Marcus Wright - part man, part machine. I think it did a good job of exploring a gray area that Connor hadn't dealt with before. It also moved the overall story arc of the series as we see how John becomes the leader of the resistance. However, I was very disappointed at the end. John is in Skynet's home base and there is only ONE terminator to fight? Not likely. Also, the beginning sets up the controversy of whether John is really the savior or a false prophet but was never brought up again.
The film lacked depth in the story line and depth of the characters and even the fighting scenes left me feeling a little disappointed.

This movie is a good addition to the Terminator series. Going in, I was not expecting the storyline to be as good as it was, but it turns out to be worthy of the series. On the same note, you don't have to see all the series to appreciate this one, but I found that watching the original before seeing it was helpful.
While all the characters were good, I found the character of Marcus to be my favorite. It's a good character that adds a lot to the movie, and his involvement is a good link between the beginnings of Skynet and the present story.
I would recommend this to anyone interested in the Terminator series with no questions.

I call it road warrior update because there were too many B movie scenes in the movie. I only give it a 4 because there were several very good parts.
It simply wasn't real enough, they kept doing something called 'breaking the scene' where you realize that you are watching a movie.
And as much as I have liked Bale's work on other films, his crazy outburst on set that made it on the radio makes him more real than the characters he plays. I don't understand why actors don't realize that they get paid so much because they no longer have a life of their own; it becomes there duty to avoid public notoriety.
If you like the Terminator series, than watch the show - its better than the movie.

I did enjoy this movie, but I love everything Terminator. The special effects were simply amazing, and what they did with Awwwwnold at the end was epic. Yes it is a sci fi movie, but somethings were just hard to believe, but it was a fun ride.

The action scenes are competent but the plot is very weak and there is no character development. Christian Bale is still doing the Batman voice and really doesn't do that much else. There really is no point to this movie. The Terminator story is not moved forward and you learn nothing new. There is a reason these events are not even worth mentioning in the original Terminator. Save your time and check it out on Cable. If you have to spend money, go see Star Trek again.

I would hate to say it but for one this was one of Christian bales worst movies along with terminators worst movie out of the trilogy. The movie started with a bang but that is all it was very loud and I had a headache from metal banging throughout the movie. It was very predictable and had a really boring story. if you are a terminator fan you will be greatly disappointed. It was pretty to say the least but that is all MCG did in this movie everything else was just a pathetic attempt of a modern day action movie. Also normally I would fall asleep at a bad movie but this was just so loud that I couldn't even do that. I hope if they do decide to make a squeal that they will rethink the movie or get a different director.

Although, I am not an avid fan of the Terminator series I've got to say that I always enjoy when directors make a fanbased movie understandable for those that have yet to indulge in the other movies in the series. I saw this movie twice, the first two days it opened, and will definitely be purchasing it when it comes out on DVD. All the elements were there for past fans of the "Terminator" franchise, as well as a solid story for any newcomers, if there are any! Christian Bale brought his trademark intensity to the role of John Connor, and I especially loved Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese. I have been a fan since he was very young. Watch this actor, he is rising fast. The action was non-stop and fantastic, and the story about the first blended machine/human terminator was excellently written and well-played by Aussie Sam Worthington. I look forward to forthcoming installments in this series.

Sadly, this installment's story-line falls short of the sophistication necessary. Poor scripting with huge empty spaces and B-movie dialog-delivery makes one angered the flick was made in such a superficial way. Time-travel was entirely absent!...Disbelief was high, critical opportunities to engage ones imagination were ignored! Effects too sophisticated for the story content, MCG failed to tie elements of character and story producing "imposters" playing many roles. The one relationship we care about is hung precariously outside of the story and is never delivered genuine Salvation!!! Takes itself too seriously; fails to deliver the Gravity of Man vs. Machine and time travel!

it was good, i even liked the way our ugly governor was portrayed in the movie.it really wouldn't be a terminator movie without him. i loved the charracter marcus wright, he was great and christian bale as connor was good-he's fine.

this was a good movie, and if you liked the previous ones this will deliver great effects and sound (maybe a little loud) the saga continues and i am sure there will be more sequels, bring them on!!

Really enjoyed the movie, will definitely keep the franchise going. Lots of action, clear plot. Christian Bale did an excellent job. To move from good to great the next movie will have to add something to care more about characters in addition to John Connor.

Director McG comes through with flying colors. Don't let the PG-13 rating fool you; the film is as ferocious and unrelenting as Christian Bale's well-publicized outburst. The fast pacing and CGI is very contemporary, but the detail and history of Cameron's future dystopia is never forgotten. It just looks different in daylight.
If you accept new character Marcus Wright's origin and role in John Connor's and Kyle Reese's destiny, you'll enjoy the new hiccup in the Skynet timeline. The ending may be predictable, but it's a thrilling roller-coaster ride to get there.
