This movie was good but I would have done a few things different. The first thing I would have done would have been to start where T3 left off. There was too much of a gap between them in a bunker and where the movie starts off at. I mean how did they even get out of the bunker and through the rubbage caused by the two terminators fighting? Secondly it would have been nice to see the begining of the resistance and how they got to the point where they are as strong as they are in this movie. In my opinion the movie should have showed people gathering up resources and trying to get to the point where they can actually combat the machines. I mean how did they get all these working radios, vehicles, and come on a submarine?

I was pleasantly suprised by the action flick. Lots of surpises, good action. I wouldn't take a young child to see it, though. Also appreciated the subtle and not-so-subtle references to past movies like the driving the jeep into the gas station scene. If you like sci-fi, Terminator movies and Mad Max movies, you'll like this one!

It's not as good as Terminator or T2, but significantly fresher than T3. There is enough action to make it a great popcorn movie and the main supporting male shows up Christian Bale. People who like the Terminator series should find it a very satisfying segway into the future.
The only knocks I have on the movie, ableit small ones are that there are too many Good Looking people in post-apocolyptic California and the special effects occasionally are clearly CGI. But don't worry about the effects as they are easily a 4 out of 5.
Since my wife liked it, it is at the minimum an enjoyable movie. If you are a fan of the Terminator series or enjoy summer popcorn movies see this on the big screen.

Fight, chase, fight, fight, chase, fight. Even good special effects and action scenes need a plot and interesting characters and this movie didn't have enough of either. In the best action/adventure movies, the action sequences are like icing on the cake... the best part of a great experience. But Hollywood seems to be relying more and more on action to make up the substance of a picture and that almost always fails.

I had very low expectations, based on the reviews I'd read, so I was pleasantly surprised. The plot holes are largely a product of the Terminator mythology and cannot be entirely eradicated. Christian Bale's character displays a very narrow range of emotions, but that seems realistic for someone who is being hunted. Sam Worthington's role is probably bigger than Bale's, and Worthington does a good job.

Terminator Salvation is a movie worth waiting for and paying the higher price to see it in the more upscale theaters, with a very good sound system. Although I enjoyed the movie, there are a couple of things that could have been improved on. Christian Bale is a good actor, but he still has the same expressions and voice of aggression as in Batman Begins, and the cameo of Arnold S, really was not necessary. I am a big fan of all of the Terminator movies and loved the Sara Conner’s Chronicles (sad to see if go away, WHY???), and I will recommend TS to my entire movie going friends.

First off let me say that I did enjoy this movie and the twist was very clever. The action, effects and acting was very good. I did however have a problem with the basics, like where they were getting their fuel for the cars, batteries, etc., wasn't everything destroyed? More importantly I felt there was too much of a gap between where T3 left off, them in the bunker, and their current situation. I would have preferred to see John Connor rallying the survivors to form the resistance, not all the helicopters and planes they had. Also I thought the Arnold part was great and the movie should have shown more of the T800 coming into play and how they made time travel possible. all in all it was enjoyable.

Ask "Who is the terminator in this movie" and this movie will seem much better than the endless and mindless action. With each movie the Terminator has newer powers each time becoming closer to a normal human. This time skynet creates a Terminator who is so human to strike at Kyle Reese, John Connor's future father and John himself. But has skynet made the Terminator too human?
The basic premise is good. But some of the acting is wooden, the leads lack charisma, the action sequences fail to stay in the mind, there are too many holes in the plot and the references to previous terminator movies fail to be the homage for fanboys.
Overall this is an OK Movie but not the reboot to Terminator like Dark Knight was to the Batman series.

I enjoyed Terminator Salvation. It pulled alot of the pieces together from the first few movies and developed the story line pretty well throughout with a couple of new twists towards the end. Not as good as the first and second Terminator movies which are classics but this one is still pretty good. Very entertaining.

Not that this was a particularly bad movie. In fact it was pretty good, just not worth the price of admission just to see a rehash of the old Terminator themes of Man vs. Machine. Kudos to the writing team for this latest installment of Terminator. Christian Bale is a far better John Connor than he was Batman. Some really great acting was presented by the supporting cast, especially Sam Worthington. WOW. The storyline was easy to follow, not complicated, and the twist - though predictable about Markus being the T800 - was quite good (the signal thought to "shut down" the machines actually attracting them!!!! and the fact that Markus was the infiltrator) was awesome. Love the way the movie ended, leaving room for the next installment! WATCH IT! It's GREAT.

My son and I thought this version of Terminator was done really well. I was glad to see alot better CGI's. Better action packed and really glad that Arnold though his short role was in the movie. I would gladly see this again, again,again. On a scale from 1 -10, I would give it a 9. I recommend that every Terminator fan go and see , you won't be dissapointed

Each time they bring out one of these movies, they fill in another piece of the overall John Connor story - this movie is no exception. That being said, though, it is a very small piece with a larger and different storyline attached, which is very interesting. Being a PG13 instead of R, it meant less gore or bad language, which I personally appreciated, and more story. Well acted. The choice is in whole stars, but I would actually give it a 3 1/2.

Overall not a bad movie, but not worth paying premium prices to see. IMHO the movie had too may gaps and never really pulled the audience in and got them involved.

Terminator Salvation is a really well written movie! Christian Bale does a great job playing the role of John Conner. Part of me wishes that they would have used at least some of the previous actors. Having Arnold animated was cool though.The guy playing the half man/half terminator was excellent too.The plot is pretty much the same as the other movies and is still loaded with twist and turns. My only complaint is the cussing...what's the point? Why do we allow movie writers to think it's okay for our 13 year olds to hear bad language? Wouldn't it make more since to make those types of movies PG so most parents would allow their kids to see this movie? Hmm.Good movie all-in-all

I saw this movie differently from most of the people that reviewed it here. It may not have been the best movie I have ever seen but I thought it was great. I thought it was much more realistic than the last one. It seemed like that's what they were going for in this movie as opposed to appealing to all the same people who like the fake spiderman type movies that all have the same plot, "suspense" and lame predictable ending. If you like to see the good guys kick butt you will like this movie.
