Wow. What happened to Terminator during these past 6 years? This movie turned it into an action fest with no story. Spacial Effects are great but the story, not so much. i cheated and read the reviews on rotten tomatoes before going to the theater so i had low expectations to begin with. also, of particular note, i watched the expressions of the movie-goers leaving the theater before my showing started and everybody had a disappointed wtf look on their face. i should've known better. here's my my two main complaints: wooden acting with christian bale droning out the same performance as he did in his two batman movies. plot holes galore leaving you to ask "what did they actually accomplish?" i'm still wrestling with that. if it weren't for the special effects i would've given this dud one star but at least it had eye candy going for it. if you have to see it, wait for it to come out on dvd or bluray.

The movie had more holes in the plot than a wedge of swiss cheese. It wasn't horrible but it definitely wasn't even close to what you'd expect from the preview (marketing geniuses). The plot was hollow and mechanical and the script was cheesy (no pun intended). McG should stick to directing Land o' Lake commercials or whatever it was he was doing before this. They should have paid attention to the original (keep it simple) and focused more on character development. Ah well, not a bad way to waste 2 hrs plus...

Finally they have produced the movie that ends the series. Not that i am saing that it should end.The way it was directed,time line was good i think in T3 that the time line was alittle jumbled around.But they pulled it off and put it back in order. It is a movie to watch from T2 on and then watch T1.Excellent job with the casting of John Conner. As for Kathern Bruster they could have found someone "more like her" in the T3. CGI excellent i give A+. Action A+,Kepping with the story line A+. The biggest thing of all in a series is the time line that gets a well deservied A+++.Last but not least they introduced Conner father most movies leave this out and for this along with the time line A+++++++++++++.

i thought the movie was not horrible but definitely not good enough either. The story itself is quite alright besides a couple of cheesy lines here and there. To me, Bale should not have wasted his talent on this one. I actually felt kinda frustrated on some of the plot....definitely not enough character development on some of the characters in it other than the ones already established on T2. This movie is still not even close to the quality of T2 but definitely much better than the garbage quality T3. I would say dont expect the intensity of T2 and just enjoy the show cause thats what i did eventually.

If you loved the first two Terminator films, then chances are that you will find the current incarnation of the series to be disappointing, nonsensical, sloppily written, and badly directed. If it weren't for Sam Worthington, the entire 2 hours would have been a colossal waste of time and money....the extraordinary special effects notwithstanding. If, on the other hand, you enjoy cliched dialogue, unconvincing fight scenes, a predictable plot, wooden acting, and pointless explosions, this film is for you.

I've always wanted to know what it was like in that future apocalyptic, machine ruled world and I finally got my wish. An excellent take on the other side of the terminator universe. Instead of the typical matchup of advanced terminator vs. outdated terminator, we get all machines vs. all of the resistance. Director McG has allowed us to see after judgement day, when machines rule the world and witness their relentless brutality and violence. No Arnold, no problem, a great selection of machines to battle, top notch special effects, along with the great casting of Bale and Worthington make up for the lack of the governator. An excellent addition to the terminator franchise, I can't wait to see the what's in store next.

I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed this movie. I'm a huge fan of the series meaning I loved T1 and T2. T3 was a huge disappointment, except the ending was really well done. So I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't walk out diappointed in fact I really liked it. Christian Bale is amazing as usual he played John Connor with a toughness and vulnarability. Sam Worthington who is that guy he is hott as the half machine/human. But Anton Yelchin he really made this movie for me and stole my heart as Kyle Reese, he was fabulous! I hope we get the chance to see a sequel. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because its not better than the first 2, no shock there.

This movie was horrible! Me and Bale are through professionally! He phoned this performance in, and McG appeared to scared to tell him anything about it. The writers obviously had their "Action Movie Cliche" handbook ready and used it without shame. There were people laughing at moments when they shouldn't have been. Having never watched the previous Terminator movies before, I didn't have any expectations going into it. In the end, I thought it was a fun action film. As far as plot, the business with Kyle Reese made no sense at all (I had to have a friend explain to me afterward). So, unless you watched the previous movies, you won't catch the drama, nor will you care. It's still a fun movie full of explosions, though.

I really wanted to love this movie and I went in with high hopes. Although I feel that Christian Bale's performance was excellent and believable, his seemed to be the only halfway developed character. Mostly due to the fact that we know his history from the other movies and his goals in this movie are pretty straight forward even if you hadn't seen its predecessors. I didn't feel drawn to any of the characters and I didn't care about them. I wasn't wowed by the story line and in most instances I found it all too predictable. Predictability can be forgiven if everything else is great, but since the only thing that was done well was the action sequences I just couldn't forgive the rest.

Good action and overall movie. I'm a big fan of the Terminator series, so this movie had a lot to live up to. Not having Arnold as a main character didn't feel quite right.... Different than the other movies since it was a large war and focused less on individual battles.

The beginning is good. The CG and sound are awesome, but mid way it just takes a dive into the toilet. The use of vietnam equipment vs advanced machines was ridiculous, this is the future. There were constant hardships overcome with ease. They did a poor job of making the terminators seem impossible. Most terminators were shown as security bots.

The end was so bad I almost walked. The hybrid terminator was very soft. They bring John’s PREGNANT wife to the battlefield?! A badly CG rendered Arnold? Johns spine and heart are destroyed, but he limps away!? The hybrid terminators heart is smashed to bits but his heart is transplanted!? They fly away blowing up nukes while still flying over and the KID has the detonator?

This was one of the best movies I have seen in a LONG time. Christian Bale was so great. He is a very good actor, and he proved it in this film. I was convinced he was John Connor. The action and special effects was UNBELIEVABLE. I went with my husband and a friend of ours and after the movie was over, we all were so happy about it being such a great movie, we couldn't stop talking about it. We told everyone we knew and anyone who would listen.

The rewrites by Jonathan Nolan and Paul Haggis were supposed to have made this movie better, but there no sign of that heavy-duty writing. The only surprise was the presence of a character from the old movies. Excellent action compensates for lack of plotting or acting, and the only one with acting chops (surprisingly), is the on again, off again Oz-accented Sam Worthington (perhaps because his role is not as one-dimensional as the rest of the cast's). Much blame for that should go to the creative minds behind this enterprise. The only reason for watching this is the spectacular action, which would have been better served by a better plot.

While there were plenty of explosions and cool robots to see, I found myself rolling my eyes and saying to myself "come on, really?"
There was so much that didn't make sense that I don't even feel like going into it. I would not recommend this movie to anyone unless they are satisfied by explosions and don't care about a story working. There were some cool action sequences and some good cinematography, but in the end it was only &*#$ polish. This is one of those movies you can have on in the background while you are doing other stuff.
Save yourself a few bucks and wait for the rental version.

Special effects were good, but the whole movie lacked any "wow" factor that previous ones had. Boring story line. They were depserately looking to make a follow up to this movie when it was written. There are no memorable quotes like "I'll be back" to live on. This movie is very forgettable.
