Let's cut right to the chase: we ALL had great expectations for T:S. It didn't live up to those expectations for lots of reasons. HOWEVER, if you LOVE the Terminator story ( not the schlocky F0X-TV series ), and, if you LOVE the special effects, and, if you LOVE non-stop action, then see this flick ! Yes - there is a bombshell of a scene with a cameo. And the storyline doesn't tell us about Sarah Connor ... so T5 is needed. ( Plus, all of those s\f\x can't go to waste ! ). In all, 4 out of 5 bags of popcorn.

The title says it all. There were so many flaws & changes to the terminator story that this movie can not be recommended. The experience was enjoyable because I've wondered about this "reality" for over 20 years and enjoyed seeing it.Come on, something that works in other "T" movies to kill terminators doesn't in this one? Oh, you think we didn't notice that Bryce Dallas Howard was pregnant in one scene and not int another? Oops, you just must have forgotten that Reese in T1 says you can't move around during the day but in this movie all they do is move in the light! And my favorite, John Connor speaks amazingly like an early 21st century super here, Batman!! Can you say OVERACTING.

I was a big terminator fan and thought from the scenes that this one would be better. I thought I was a little too serious until people around me started saying, "when a nuke explodes doesn't it wipe out all machinery?" "Why did he shoot one shot and kill the machine at the beginning of the movie and then have to shoot a bunch of times to kill all the rest?" Why didn't the machines just explode when they were around them if they have nuclear energy sources?

As a long-time Terminator fan, I was very anxious to see this movie. I loved the first two films and also enjoyed "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines." I was cautiously optimistic about this movie, although I was afraid that it might suffer without the starring presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Unfortunately, my fears were well-grounded; "Terminator Salvation" was not in the same class as the others in the series. I found the story very underwhelming and simply did not connect with the characters. Although the second half contains some nods to previous films and some good action, it's not enough to salvage the movie. It's watchable, but I'd wait for rental.

I am not sure what people were expecting from this movie. It was pretty much what I expected from a Terminator movie covering the period of the war with the machines. The acting was not that bad, these actors did the best they could with what was given to them. The guy that played Reese was actually quite impressive. Christian Bale was fine in the role of John Connor and Worthington was also good. I do hope the next move has more emotion and plot....different writers are needed. This was an entertaining movie and entertainment is why I go to movies.

This move was one of the worst I've ever seen, which is too bad considering the Terminator franchise has always panned out well.
This was just too ridiculously stupid for words. If you like movies that just blow stuff up because it's easy to do now with CG, then this is for you.
If you're tired of lame writing that plagues today's movies, then skip this. The last 10 minutes are SO BAD, it's hard to put in words.
I've managed to like every Christian Bale movie (including Reign of Fire, if that tells you anything), and I regret the 2 hours I'll never get back from this one.
I'm still shaking my head that anyone with any brains read that script and said "Wow, best script ever, esp the last 2 major scenes!".

Lots of special effects, lots of loud, lots of explosions.
Not so much plot, and only one character you care about. That character is NOT John Connor.
I loved the first Terminator, and it's still the best. The brief scenes in that movie of the war between the machines and humans were much scarier and haunting than the war in this movie.
I'd recommend this to a friend, but only because my friends would see it whether I did or not.

We loved it! Hit all the nails on the heads. Answered questions from previous Terminator movies and yet adds more. Visually satisfying. Great action movie with a lot of heart. Technically great!

Not too much more to say. The trailers caught my eye, the special effects were great, the story though -- just okay. I know there will be a sequel and I hope McG and the crew heed these reviews and learn from them.
