weee... that's what i said when i saw this movie in 3D! IMAX, could have done w/o it n saved me $3 but the movie was visually, an adventure! loved the darker colors which were more calming to the eyes. felt like i was high and going on my own colorful journey meeting my fave character the floating cat and who can't fall for johnny depp as mad hatter?!? I loved the movie, because I like weird, but it wasn't enough. It wasn't Tim Burton enough or Johnny Depp enough. What struck me the most is that this is where Tim Burton could shine with weirdness, and well, the story was just ho hum and nothing what I would expect from a Tim Burton movie. It was just okay. Not a wow, so make sure you see it in IMAX 3D to make the experience better. I was disappointed, I just expected so much more.

I was disappointed in the movie. As a fan of Alice in Wonderland and Johnny Depp, I was prepared to LOVE this movie, but, instead, came away disatisfied. The weirdness of Alice didn't go far enough. The characters were ill-concived. The storyline lacked energy and the ending was flat. The only really good part to the film was the CGI and even that was uneven at times. This story lacked it's muchness (borrowing from the Mad Hatter). It wasn't the worst movie I have ever seen, but it doesn't rate anywhere near the top.

I really enjoyed this movie because I am a fan of Tim Burton's work, especially in collaboration with actors Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. What I wasn't impressed with was the music because I expected something new and fantastical from Danny Elfman to match the movie. Should the score have been a bit more original and not as much a rerun conglomeration of other Burton Movies, I'd have liked the movie a lot more. It seems Burton worked really hard to delve into Alice and bring us more of Wonderland, but the effort was not matched by Elfman.

I thought it was awesome! It could have been PG13 for the sake darkness, some violence and behavior of one of the main characters, but it depends on what your under 13s are exposed to. It was fine for my kids and they enjoyed it. Those familiar with Tim Burton films should know what to expect. I personally LOVE everything he does and couldn't wait to see the the movie. The story has some basics of the original Alice in Wonderland story, so if you aren't familiar with Alice in Wonderland at all... you may struggle with the concept. The sets were creative, the costumes were fantastic! Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter played their characters in the style only they can deliver... it was excellent!

Full of stunning imagery from beginning to end, and the child-hood scenes were taken straight from the original wood-cuts. Burton/Depp/Bonham Carter need to branch out a little though. They seem to be falling into a rut.

We took our 7 year old daughter and her best friend to see this movie in 3D and they loved it!!!! It was an absolutely beautiful film on the big screen... it had a great use of color, special effects and imagination. There was some adult directives in it, but they were greatly oversought by our daughter and her friend. The girls loved the movie and have already begun talking about getting it when it comes out on DVD.
