The movie title draws you in and shortly after the movie pushes you out. You ask yourself, "Did I just waste my money?" right before the cheshire cat pops up out of nowhere and smacks you for doing just that.
It's just the type of movie created with money in mind. Alice in Wonderland! Johnny Depp! No opening weekend competition! $$Cha-Ching$$
It features a poor, cliche storyline and the experience isn't magical at all.
Wait until this movie comes out to rent it (if that).
I will conclude by saying that I watched this movie in the theatre on its opening day and everyone esle seemed just as amused as me.

Loved the movie, the Red queen was hilarious. I saw too much of Jack Sparrow/Willy Wonka type actiong in the Mad Hatter from Johnny Depp though, not such an original performance on his part. The story was well done though.

What can I say? Time Burton is a mad genius! This movie was so rich in detail and color that it had me screaming "MORE!" It is jam packed with information, so sometimes the movie goer may feel overwhelmed with the information, but trust me; it is WELL worth it. I felt totally immersed in this new and exciting world and I honestly didn't want to leave. I know that talking about the possibility of a sequel is ludicrous at the moment but I hope that it is a consideration. I do recommend this movie; just don't go in with the memories of the last Alice in Wonderland movies in your head. Go in with a clear mind and let Tim Burton work his magic. He has created his own version of Alice and it should not be compared to the others.

I have seen every Tim Burton movie and this rates up there with all of them!! Unbelievable special effects - make sure to see it in Imax 3D - wonderful characters and storyline make this one not to miss!! I have never seen a Tim Burton movie that I didn't enjoy, and Alice in Wonderland is yet another Burton film that has not failed to meet the wacky, weird, and slightly macabre standard. I loved this movie and I will definitely add it to my Tim Burton DVD collection.

From the previews, I was expecting this movie to be pretty creepy, but it wasn't really. The cards are a little scary, but even they get some humor thrown in at the end. Depp is hilarious as the hatter. I liked the hatter/Alice friendship. This is only the second movie in which I've liked Anne Hathaway; it's so different from her usual roles. Mia Wasikowska is absolutely wonderful as Alice. I want her clothes! The Red Queen is both hilarious and evil--a great villain. This movie will definitely be added to my Disney collection as soon as it's out on DVD. Absolutely delightful!

I took my 6 year old son to this movie. He loved it! He sat still through the entire 2 hours of the movie which is really saying something! It would have been a little better (in my opinion) if Johnny Depp had funnier lines.

We went as a family to see this movie, and it was enjoyed by all (girls are 14 and 19). Pretty awesome twists and performances were amazing. I think I will see this again and definitely purchase it for our library!

Saw this in Digital, not IMAX. The movie started out lackluster, rather trite, and boring. The dialogue was poor, and the acting of all but the now aged 17-19 Alice seemed forced. Once in Wonderland however THAT got better. The GCI didn't seem to have much detail or depth. The colors were washed out in all but the Cat and dormouse. The animation of Stain/The Knave of Hearts was ludicrous and choppy. I think that the studio spent more time on the bloodhound & whatever that other furry monster thing was that was guarding the Vorpal Blade. Overall this reminded me of a made-for-tv movie from the recently dubbed SyFy Channel. While a fan of Depp, even his acting was sloppy and poorly written. Perhaps it might at least look better in IMAX 3D.

Alice as a young woman is depicted quite tastefully. Keeping her imagination and free will in mind throughout the movie my 12 year old daughter was able to relate. The characters were lovely, but Anne as the White Queen threw me off a bit with her very overdone innocence act. Just wasn't believable. Johnny's character The Hatter needed to speak more clearly as there were parts where we had to ask eachother, "What did he say?" He was in and out of what I believe to be a few accents, which were hard to follow at times causing us to miss out on punchlines. So I'll buy the DVD so I can rewind the parts I couldn't understand.

I went to this with my in-laws and my six year old son. I didn't know if it might be too trippy for him to get into. I needn't have worried, he was thrilled. There were some parts that went right over his head (but that were terrific for the grown ups) and at times it was a little violent but nothing too crazy or gory. As expected Helena Bonham-Carter and Johnny Depp were bizarre and wonderful but Anne Hathaway was a nice surprise. Lots of laughs, lots of excitement. Don't know that I'd recommend it for kids much younger than mine or for kids with a small attention span.

Some friends and my Husband and I took our 5 year old daughters to see this. It was great! The girls loved it, it kept their attention and wasn't too scary. I was intrigued by Johnny Depps character the whole movie and I loved the Cheshire Cat!! A lot of people did not like this movie because they did not know it is based mostly off the second book "Through the Looking Glass", so they were disappointed to learn it was not a remake of the original movie.
I personally loved the movie. Tim Burton is a genius and Johnny Depp did a fantastic job of being "mad" but not over the top.

It was a gorgeous film and interesting take on the general ideas we have about Alice in Wonderland. The plot seemed to lack a true unique creative ending. Rather lame take on good vs. evil. And why did they make Alice grow up? Over all entertaining and good acting.

Great animation and fun (if sanitized) story. Very good acting but a little uneven. Not as dark as most other Tim Burton movies. A few characters were disappointing to me as they skewed wildly from the original but I was clued in that this is supposed to be a sequel of sorts. Young kids running up and down the aisles giggling and texting during the movie didn't add to the enjoyment. I will give this movie a second look on DVD/Bluray from the comfort of my own home. I think I will enjoy it more.

I just saw Alice in Wonderland 3D in the IMAX on 42nd Street in Manhattan & it was a nice experience. I loved the previews for some of the movies coimng out in IMAX more than i did the movie though. The movie was cute - just not as interesting as i thought it be - i mean it is alice in wonderland at the end of the day. Its a cute movie to take kids to!

This movie was visually stunning. And while i thought it was a great movie, there were parts of it that dragged and were slow and boring. Also, it shouldn't be called Alice in Wonderland as the movie's premiss is that Alice is more grown up and has to go back to wonderland to slay the jaberwockie.
