I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie when I went to see it. I typically enjoy Tim Burton films, but the commercials looked a little creepy. However, this movie was fantastic. It was visually stunning, humorous in the right places, and the actors were very well-cast and not over the top at all. I saw this movie with my 10 and 8 year old daughters and they enjoyed it as well. I want to see it again to see if I missed anything.

Johnny Depp doesn't disappoint his fans in his entertainingly wistful portrayal of the Mad Hatter. However, it is Mia Wasikowska who steals the show as Alice. The plot moves along at a brisk pace and the visuals are very colorful and effective without stealing the show. This film is worth seeing more than once and adding to your collection when it comes out on DVD. This is a review of the two dimensional version, not the 3D.

The IMAX exprience was't up to par. The movie as it was panning was out of focus alot and adjusting my glasses and position in the theater didn't help. The movie itself was delightful. I wish there had been a little more romance between the hatter and Alice. He seemed too detached. Overall the movie was great and I would see it again in 3D but not at IMAX.

love this movie it was so good loved the red queen (Helena Bonham Carter) she did a good job she out shined the mad hater (Johnny Depp). however i was a little disappointed felt like the movie was a bit short and wish the developed the characters more like the Mad Hater and The Cheshire Cat which i felt they could have done just by adding 10-20 min to the movie but overall great movie brings back memories for watching the first Alice

I reluctantly ceded to my friend's request to see this move, knowing that anything Johnny Depp is in (and that Tim Burton directs), can't possibly be bad. What a wonderful surprise was in store! I felt like I fell down the rabbit hole right along with Alice, and I felt a strong desire to remain in Wonderland forever. Without giving it away, I will say the bittersweet ending reminded me of my favorite Johnny Depp movie, Edward Scissorhands. This was a terrific movie that will definitely become part of my collection once released on video.

I wasn't very excited about seeing this movie, but my daughter's wanted to see it so I reluctantly brought them. I like Johnny Depp and Tim Burton but after Charlie and the chocolate factory, I feared the worse for this movie, but It turned out to be better than I expected. I was surprisingly amused for most of it and my girls (ages 10 & 5) said they really liked it too.

Both my children (7 & 8) and myself, loved the movie. Visuals were wonderful, actually glad I didn't see it in 3-D, I think this would have taken away from it. The characters were wonderful, espeicially the Mad Hatter. Great twist on a well known classic.

The characters where so believable and there were no judgements, they were who they were without any pretense. I and my 21 year old son thoroughly enjoyed it and anyone dare to oppose then "off with their heads!"

Alice in Wonderland was one of my childhood favorites. Though a Tim Burton adaptation of an extension to the original it was not as dark as I expected it to be which was a pleasant surprise.
I thought the movie was well put thought out and well put together an enjoyable film for young and old.

I admit, I was a little apprehensive as to how Tim Burton was going to "treat" Alice, and in the end, my apprehension was warranted. While it's clear that countless hours went into crafting the look of the film, not enough were spent on developing the actual story and the main character. "Alice" got lost & overshadowed by Hatter & the Red Queen & the rest of Wonderland. That didn't happen in the book or in the earlier Disney version. Simply put, Tim Burton's "Alice" traded heart for CGI. Which is sad. Also, the movie is dark, at times intense and scary. It's not ok for small kiddos.I wouldn't tell anyone to NOT see the movie, but my only real reason for that is the 3D aspect, which is very cool. Too bad that's all the movie has to offer.

I definitely enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. I believe everyone fit their roles perfectly, especially Alice and the Mad Hatter. The graphics throughout were amazing and I loved the contrast between her world and Wonderland. It was great how you could tell who each person was in relation to Alice's world. i.e. The Red Queen was the mother of the man Alice is supposed to marry. It was great! I was hoping that maybe she would meet Johnny Depp in her world and then they would somehow be together but maybe I was hoping for too much. Overall, a really enjoyable movie. Tim Burton did not fail this classic tale.

From the time I saw the preview I wanted to take my friend's two boys to see this. So... we went opening night and loved it! The previews made is seem a bit erie or dark, but it wasn't scary at all! The kids that went were 1st and 5th graders and they enjoyed it very much. I definitely think that Johnny Depp is phenomenal in this role! He was my favorite character.
I would recommend this movie to everyone!! It's a great movie to go out with friends or family and enjoy an evening out!

I personally enjoyed it very much. However, I think that it still could have been so much better... it had an awful lot of potential.

I believe this was an amazing movie in that this continuum followed the original Alice in Wonderland perfectly. The acting I felt was perfect by Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp for their characters. It was an excellent movie that appealed to children as well as the older crowd. For those who saw this in 3D, there would be even more amazing things to say.

This is the second time I've seen this much anticipated movie. First time was in 3-D- what a visual masterpiece! The integration of live action and CG was flawless. My favorite character is definitely the RED QUEEN, who delivers a unique, comical and memorable performance. Mia was brilliant in this role. I found as a 30-something strangely inspired by her journey and conviction. I wasn't aware the 2nd time that I wasn't going to see it in 3D (THE GROVE) and felt is lacked the richness and "muchness" that it possessed the first time. Still- I'd see it again and again and plan to- often.

If you like Tim Burton, go see it. If you do not or think this is a kids movie, stay away. I thought it was fun to look at and the overall ride was great. I did not think the 3-D was over done, which is nice. The characters were amusing. The end is not like the book. Johnny Depp was his usual quirky self.
