Classic Tim Burton. The whole movie felt like him. Depp was good, Bonham-Carter was good. The White Queen walked aroud with her hands by her shoulders too much (the "Princess Walk") as I called it. Effects were good. A little slow about 3/4 of the way through - felt more like the Wizard of Oz. I'd probably see it again. I recommend you see it, if you are fans of any of the people I listed.

It was a good movie but I expected alot more detail. It seemed to have moved along pretty quick. The characters were great...I especially liked Mia Wasikowska. I think Johnny Depp's character was predictable. It lacked that "WOW" factor.

So the fast pace motion and unreal scenery would have been great if the movie was in focus. I would figure on opening night the projectionist at the Bow-tie 11 in Annapolis would at least keep it in focus. Also the full theater was not ventilated so it smelled bad and was about 80 degrees. Next time I want to see a movie I am going to remind myself of this blurry movie and just wait to watch the crystal clear blu-ray.

This movie was wonderful!!! The special effects were great the story was great and the casting was great... except... the White Queen. The White Queen actually took away from this movie and added nothing to the plot line. Through The Looking Glass' chess match could have been established through Alice for the film. And Hathaway's performance was not on par with the rest of the cast. Lousy in fact. Although I've come to realize that Johnny Depp is a master celebrity impersonator and adds a little of "others" to his performances. I LOVED the intermittent appearances of "Mel Gibson"!!!!

The effects were brilliant. The characters both real and imagined came to life. I adored the Cheshire Cat. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter was brilliant. Helena as the Red Queen was a joy to watch. She nailed that character. I marveled at the Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee characters. So round and so expressive. It was said that this might be frightening to children. The children I saw were having an amazing time at this movie. You should probably see it before taking little ones to it.

If you were expecting horribly bizzare things and a lot of tastless violence, then this movie is not for you.
Visually stunning, superb acting, this movie not only entertains but teaches a valuable lesson to our youth!
There might be a few "scary" moments for small children - under the age of 10, but overall, it was entertaining, comical and brilliantly put together.
We shouldn't lose site of our dreams, fantasies and hopes. We shouldn't conform to what society expects..find out who you are and do what makes you happy...some of the messages in this movie.
I would show this as a learning lesson in my classroom!

Let me start off by saying this, I LOVE Johnny Depp...And I LOVED all of the characters in this movie (The Cheshire cat is so cute!) The movie was good. I would not call it a must see the opening day as expected. I left feeling was that it was an average good movie.. This movie was even better than expected- the visual effects in the movie were very well done, especially considering that basically the entire movie IS special effects. I certainly recommend this one, and if seen in 3D, I'm sure it'll be that much better.

Although this movie fell short of my expections in a number of areas, it was still better than the lashings it has been taking from some critics. The movie was visual eye-candy from start to finish. The acting was wonderful, as per usual; the biggest surprise being how good Helena Bonham Carter was. She was just a chuckle and a half. The only sore point was the script. At times it felt disjointed and meandering, but the overall moral and tone of the screenplay was still true to the spirit of Lewis Carrol's beloved tale. This is a film for all ages, demographics and walks of life. It is fun, light-hearted, charming and playful, even if it lacks serious depth.

In honesty, I had fairly big expectations for this movie! Time Burton and Johnny Depp are of course my two favorite parts, (respectively.) Now, that being said, I had an erring feeling near the end that it wasn't as good as their other items. It was good! It just wasn't quite "amazing" as they usually do. One part of it was that you knew the ending before it arrived - half way through the movie, that is. Otherwise, good acting, graphics were slightly jumpy, overall good.
