I went and saw this last night with my friend and we loved it... I thought this movie was absoululy amazing... I loved it and I especially enjoyed the Mad Hatter and the Queen... Having seen the movie in 2D, there was moments where the focus was horribly offset: these were parts of the film that I could only assume were intentioned for 3D. On top of that, the dialogue was at times incredibly difficult to understand. True, the story was full of dread and fancy as is usual with all of Tim Burton's movies and from the start, you see his touch on the entire art design. And although there were some funny moments throughout the film, most were very childish; Tim Burton opted for a darker story that falls short.
<Spoiler Alert!>I knew from the trailers to not watch the movie expecting the original story of Alice in Wonderland, as this is a completely new story of Alice's return to Wonderland.

We enjoyed the movie very much, stuck to the story line and didn't drift. It was alittle dark, could've been more vibrant. Loved Depp! And the red queen was casted perfectly! Didn't like the cast for Alice, she looked very sickly! And Hathaway wasn't the right cast for the white queen, her look didn't fit the part, should've been someone with smaller features. Overall the movie was very entertaining!

Alice in Wonderland lived up to my expectations. Although the plot was a little confusing, and they didn't explain things, that I would have liked to have explained. The dialogue was entertaining for me, it felt very much like a step into a fairy tale. Personally, as a Tim Burton fan, I thought that it should have been darker, with more of a morbid twist. Of course it wouldn't have been rated PG in that case. Danny Elfman shows his genius again, the soundtrack for the movie was wonderful and enchanting. The acting was believable and wonderful. From Johnny Depp (Hatter) to Stephen Fry (Cheshire Cat) to Anne Hathaway (I do rather love her). I would recommend it, it definitely had a flair that makes me want to watch it again.

I enjoyed how this didn't follow either of the books all that well. The older Alice allows for different plots to develop that a child Alice just couldn't be a part of- like a possible love story. I thought most of the characters were somewhat believable, and I get that it was supposed to be obviously over the top at points, but the White Queen's mannerisms bugged me. I loved the twists on characters I knew from the original animated version- the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, and the doormouse especially. The Knave of Hearts was an interesting addition also.

When I first saw the preview, I was extremely wary. I got persuaded to go, and we didn't see it in 3D. I'm rather grateful; the movie itself is trippy enough. Seeing it in 3D is surely to instigate hallucinations. It's a good story, though definitely not for younger kids. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone younger than 10, as there are disturbing images and the fantastical geared more towards adults. The acting is superb, the effects wonderful, and as strange as strange can be.

Typical Tim Burton; traditional story with his unique twist of fantasy. I loved that Hatter had a larger role and Johnny did awesome, as always. The story might be a tad confusing for those that have never READ Alice and only watched Disney or other movie versions. While it was not all that I had expected it was still WONDERFUL and I look forward to seeing it again. I would also encourage everyone to see it in 3D there were some scenes that were obviously made for it. Pull up the popcorn and ENJOY!

First of all, this movie really isn't for young children in my opinion. Case in point...I had to explain to my 15 year-old why a catepiller was smoking a hookah, so explaining might be more difficult for a 6 year-old inquisitive mind. Johnny Depp was the star of this movie by far, but hard to understand at times and I found myself spending more time processing what was just said than actually watching the movie. Slow at times with ackward silent moments. Maybe save this one for movie night at home.

Helena steals the movie as the Red Queen. Wish I could have warm pig bellies under my feet from time to time. Johnny Depp's dialogue is hard to understand at times, but true to form he is THE Mad Hatter. Overall movie made you believe Wonderland really exists.

Alice in Wonderland was REALLY nice! It was the first time I saw so much color in a Tim Burton's movie, however, it's also Disney's so it was actually amazing to see both styles together...the characters were definitely Burton's design but the magic of the different places and detailed scenarios are definitely Disney's! Great movie, inspiring, funny, romantic with Burton's depressing views...I absolutely recommend! Oh yeah! The Mad Hatter? AWESOMELY GREAT! Once again Johny Depp does not disappoint. He's cute, ugly, nice, wacko and totally funny in a scary way! Got it? No? Than you are not good for Tim Burton's movies!

I think Johnny Depp was very good as the mad hatter, I also liked the cat. The red queen was also very good. I didn't really like her assistant character (don't even remember his name). Overall I think just a few changes, didn't like the makeup of the white queen, the assistant guy, maybe more colors for the red queens guards, but I guess it is Tim Burton so it will be "darker". But it was a pretty good movie.

Burton and Depp, need anymore be said? Very entertaining, great visual effects, even a fairly good story line. (What is with the "it's o.k. i personally loved this movie. just remember to keep in mind it is a *sequel*, the person i saw it with was confused thinking it was a remake. the graphics were incredible for starters, no detail was spared in making everything seamless and almost real-looking. the characters were just as i'd imagined, the cheshire cat and his vanishing down to the tweedles. casting was perfect. Johnny Depp was the perfect mad hatter, and Mia (Alice) was a great casting choice, pretty and innocent yet sassy. the final battle scene was a little bit of a let-down, i was expecting a little more after the build up. but all in all, a great movie.

As a long time devoted fan of Alice I have to say this was beautifully executed and more than well worth seeing. Without telling the tale precisely it is still Alice. Fantastic performances from all of the participants and the effects are to die for. It left you stuck to your seat and wanting more. Not being overly "Burtonish" either or cliche to the original story, each character had it's own style and charisma not seen in any Alice I have seen before. I would love to see a "Through the Looking Glass" in the near future *hint* *hint*. All I can say is thank you and to go see it again and again :)

Not a bad movie, but definitely not good. The special effects are good, but the story is EXACTLY what you'd expect. There were no real (good) twists or additions to the story. It had the same feel as the other Tim Burton movies -- so by the time he does it this time it is very unoriginally done. Same vision, different context. I didn't find Johnny Depps performance good or bad, just ordinary for him in a Burton film. It's worth watching, but it's not the 'event' it's been billed as.

I loved it and i thought itd be great to take teenagers to little kids im not so sure of. As for the actual movie i find that it was confusing at times and im not sure why they made it a sequel but with the same name but overall i thought it was good graphics awesome voices and cool looking characters. The alice actress was good could have been a little better and the white queen had little part compared to the red i loved johnny depps part and overall i really did love it so id recommend it

It was really good, but I can't say great. I didn't find myself hoping it would never end. The scenery was beautiful and the characters ok. Maybe i'm just spoiled now after Avatar. Nothing will ever measure up again.

this was a good movie. although i was a bit dissapointed in the ending i thought there was a lot of build up for the final scene with out a lot of pay off. but the grafics as well as special effects were excellent/ i would def recomend this movie to anyone who was a fan of the first one.

Johnny Depp of course was doing his thing (and who doesn't want to see him doing what he does best - being delightfully quirky) but, the young lady who played Alice kind of got on my nerves. Helena Bonham Carter also did a good job in this movie. She was pretty funny. Overall I really enjoyed it.

This movie was visually spectacular, but we could not understand what any of the male characters were saying. Johny Depp mumbled through his performance of the Mad Hatter, add in the made up words that Lewis Carrol is known for, and it was nearly impossible to understand what was going on. I wish this problem was germane to the male characters, but Helena Bonham Carter had the same issue.
If you want to watch this movie, hold out for Blu-Ray and put on subtitles.
