I got dragged to this movie, so that should give you some indication of my expectations going in. If it doesn't, I'll just tell you: I had low expectations.
The movie was predictable, except for the fact that it was basically a random mess from about ten minutes in until the end. The changes in tempo were pretty slow, and there wasn't much character development at all. Some of you might say, "Her character got developed in the first one!" but since this is over ten years later and the whole point of the movie is her trying to find herself, character development is a must.
Fun to watch, but not a movie that really sucks you in or takes you anywhere. See it if you want to, but don't expect to be blown away.

This film was a phantasmagorical journey that allows one to free fall with Alice into a dream-world filled with hopes, wishes and fears. The acting was on spot with the theme and nature of nonsense in L. Carroll's original story. The cinematography and special effects very up to date and spellbinding. Not necessarily the most profound film ever but certainly a worthwhile and whimsical form of escape entertainment. I give this film four stars.

This movie was above and beyond my expectations! Far better than imagined! Wanna see it again in 3D. Johnny Depp stole the show with his astounding performance as the Mad Hatter. The story line was great- although it should probably have been named- Alice through the looking Glass. Tim Burton took a simple kids classic story and tipped the scales in imagination in both set and characters. Highly recommend ! I love Tim Burton and all his movies!

This was not the 3-D version. Pretty good spin on the original story with Alice falling down the rabbit hole at age 17. Some great special effects and colorful animation. The best part of the movie were scenes with the Queen of Hearts (the Red Queen). Her character stole every scene she was in. Johnny Depp was very good but it was not his best performance. I am sure we will be seeing a lot more of Australian newcomer Mia Wasikowska, who played teenage Alice very well.
The costumes and special effects kept me completely engaged but they could have left about 10 minutes of the slaying scene on the editing room floor...otherwise all very entertaining.

This entire movie is a treat for the eyes but it drug on a bit. Not too far into the movie it was going so slow I wondered if my attention span would last the rest of the hour and fifty minutes. Pleasantly, it picked up again and I really enjoyed the lovable characters. Definitely worth seeing but be prepared to be bored through parts of it.

You know what to expect from a Tim Burton Movie--Johnny will be there, Danny Elfman will do the score, so there will be swelling choruses of angelic choirs, and sweeping movements of sound to accentuate the action. This is not the Classic Alice, but IS a good interpretation. The Real World of Alice doesn't seem overly stylized, neither does the mostly CGI Underland. Both are very beautiful. The addition of more Nonsensical Speech would do Lewis Carroll proud. The actors who lend their voices embody their characters quite well. Our live Actors deserve a fair shake as well. I am getting a bit tired of the Burton-Depp Wacky Charactor, however. Perhaps they should take a break from each other for awhile.

Although I wanted more crazniess to come from Burton, I enjoyed this movie. Burton gave the female leads the empowerment they needed and I thought Alice was wonderful. This classic was a favorite in my family and I knew that our expectations would be high. For that reason I tried to walk into the theater with no expectations whatsoever so that the fall wouldn't be so hard. To my delight not only was the story wonderful but the animation superb. The colors, characters and vocabulary were fantastic. My family will most likely see this one again, and I'm sure we will tell many a friend and family member to see it. Thank you Tim Burton.

I took my 10 year daughter and we both enjoyed the movie. The storyline flowed well with the scenes. The characters were not outragous looking and were friendly for children to look at. I would recomend making sure the children you take to see this film are at least 6 and older, otherwise they wont get it. I liked this as a sequel.

This movie was ok and the dialouge was confusing in a few scenes but overall it wasn't that bad of a movie. I say the 2D version and would have loved to see the 3D because you could tell there where many parts in the movie that were meant for it. I loved Hathaway (White Queen) and Wasikowska (Alice) and Fry (Cheshire Cat) were my favorites with Depp (Hatter) coming in a close second. My favorite part int he movie would be when he does the dance at the end.

Lewis Carroll's book 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' is a dreamy journey of comical curiosity. The characters are confused, lovable, mean or mysterious. It fills the mind with playful and amusing images. However, this movie is dark, violent, and disturbing. It is filled with scary and disgusting characters and situations. Instead of feeling "curiouser and curiouser", I was sadly left feeling "furiouser and furiouser." The screenplay is not true to the book, nor to the spirit of our beloved Walt Disney and the empire he intended to leave behind. I would NOT recommend this movie to anyone who is a true fan of Lewis Carroll's literary work, nor to anyone interested in preserving the innocence and magic of childhood days.

I actually wished I had spent the money on The Crazies or Shutter Island. The world was typical Tim Burton, but I left the movie feeling the same way I did when I saw Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Alice was horribly boring and the characters were lacking motivation to help her throughout the plot, yet it all works out in the end. Really didn't expect a happy ending from this story for some reason and I was quite disappointed. Overall, I'm glad I spent the money to support Tim Burton, but I really didn't think the $40+ I spent to see this movie was worth it. Sad when the previews to new kid's movies look to be better than the one you've come to see. I can't wait for How to Train Your Dragon.

A thought this was a good movie. I loved the visual effects and would have loved to see it in 3D. Acting was great, especially Johnny Depp. I'm a huge Tim Burton and Alice in Wonderland fan, but I thought this movie was missing something. I can't exactly put my figure on it but I just feel it was lacking something. Over all worth seeing
