I loved the movie! The special effects were amazing. I did not see it in 3D, but even so, I loved the bright colors and the weirdly fascinating creatures. Helena Bonham Carter was terrific as the Queen of Hearts. Of course Johnny Depp created another winning character! Mia Masikowska was great as Alice and I'm certain we'll be seeing more of her in the future.

I went with little expectation and was entertained. I just visited the MOMA exhibit of T.B. but I have to say (with respect) Im not a huge, huge fan but I certainly was captivated by Johnny Depp. He played the character well (so did the red queen). Overall, Im glad I went - probably would see it again but not overwhelmed, which is fine.

Tim Burton has some amazing movies, but this is not one of them. I was disappointed that the story line changed. Some of the parts were very cheesy and did not seem to fit in well. As far as the music goes, Danny Elfman could have done a much better job. I was looking forward to this movie for 6 months, and it was less than what I expected. The movie had excellent potential with the Cast and Director, but did not cut it for me this time around.

This movie was one of the worst movies I have seen yet this year. Unless you have seen the prequel you are completely lost which is disappointing. There are several scenes where the actors talk so quickly that you can't understand anything they say unless you have seen the movie multiple times. Add to that one person previously reviewed the movie as Walt Disney with Goth and that couldn't be closer to the truth. Goth kids go ahead and have fun:) Enjoy the movie and remember ITS OK TO BE DIFFERENT.. except when you want to make money selling movie ..

To paraphrase a line from the movie itself, this movie was much less much than I hoped it would be. As an Alice in Wonderland fanatic, the idea of Tim Burton and crew taking it on said there was potential, but deep down I was hesitant to be excited.
I'm glad I kept my expectations low, because Burton failed to find a way to balance the bright cartooniness of Wonderland with the darker storyline he was trying to present. There was no contrast of the former Wonderland with the war-devastated "present" Underland.
That said, the Red Queen and the dormouse were fantastic. The other characters lacked development.

I think the movie was a brilliant idea: taking a classic story and twisting it up making it a true Tim Burton vision. The main problem I had was that the story line was rushed. So much happened in 109 min. that the story itself seemed to have no base to build on. Effects were great, and Johnny Deep was as I expected. But to me it was over hyped and not well plotted.

What a fantastic sequel to the story! I wouldnt have wanted anyone else but Tim Burton to do it, and he did not disappoint. Me, at least. Some said it needed more quotes from the book (most under 30 have not read the book!) Some said it needed more characters from.....what? The animated Disney movie? As fantastic as that bright, vibrant version is and loved, this --What happened when Alice went back- again was what it was supposed to be. Dark, bright, weird, a bit of nonsense and a good story for young and old which shows that courage can overcome evil. I am a fan of Alice, Depp, Elfman and Burton and I was thrilled Burton took us into all of their worlds through Wonderland.

As a hardcore Alice fan, I was a bit disappointed..the story strayed. The beginning was a bit too long and boring for kids, my son was really ansty for the first 10 minutes. Once she fell? He was hooked. But, as time went on even he got a little bored too. I adore Tim Burton and all he does..but this I'm not really that happy about.

Depp’s & Carter’s make-up is superb. Each has brilliant moments. But the production quality & IMAX 3-D are terrible. All visuals are muted & dark, except the garish-faced White Queen's washed-out kingdom -- where they're too muted & light! In both cases, lack of contrast makes the 3-D understated & unimpressive. “Alice” 3-D does not begin to compare with Avatar’s 3-D. Story details were overlooked. I wanted a great deal more of the hookah smoking Absolom. I liked their 'armored quality,' but the Red army doesn't 'look like' a deck of playing cards with recognizable suits & values. Phrases like "I'm late, I'm late, I'm late for a very important date..." have been omitted. The tea party itself, like the movie, was a HUGE disappointment.

Alice in Wonderland was is and always will be my favorite childhood movie! This is a wonderful adaptation of it. My personal favorite would have to be the costumery, just amazing! It was well cast and very entertaining. well work the 8.50 per ticket!

I really enjoyed this movie. Although I had not seen the original cartoon movie or read the book; I knew a good deal of the story. I knew enough to piece together the binding storyline and amazing corruption that the 'Bloody Red Queen' brought upon Underland. I am more enthused than ever now to see the original, and read the book along with its sequel.

This movie was really good but not what I expected. I love Tim Burton and when he and Johnny Depp it to together you know its bound to be awesome. This movie could have a little more but over all a fantastic movie for the family and I would recommend it to anyone. I found that the movie was a super good take on the original Alice in Wonderland. this movie wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. There was so much hype, and you expect so much from a tim burton/Johnny Depp movie. There were good parts, but by far my least favorite Tim Burton movie. Its probably better if you see it in 3d

The emphasis was too much placed on 3D filming techniques, rather than the story line which is what I've come to expect from Tim Burton. In fact, in this interpretation, the original story was given an uberdose of testosterone so as to force the young Alice into slaying the enemy— the jabberwocky, turning a charming classic into a violent video game experience. Johnny Depp's bubble eyes were disturbing, and I love special effects, but not on Johnny's beautiful soulful eyes - please.

If you want to watch everything that was on the commercials and only that then i'd say go watch it. The movie was ok. I mean they made it sound like it was going to be some big and dark version of alice in wonderland. It wasn't that at all. It was a little confusing and i was honestly disappointed in it, I don't know if it was because i got sucked into all the hype about it or what, but the movie let me down.

I had no desire to see this movie, but went with my daughter and her team to see it as part of a group trip. I am so glad that I went. The movie was wonderful. I never once checked the time in hopes that it would soon be over. It held my attention from beginning to end. My only complaint is that the Absalom smoked. Why? What exactly was that suppose to add to the story?
We were not able to see it in 3D , but since the special effects were so good in 2D we hope to be able to see it in 3D before it ends its' run.

Not too dark for children to see and but well-fitted for young adults and parents as well. Good acting, great version of the movie.

Ok so the movie isn't the original but who wants that. This movie is exactly what you get from the movie. It is a run on from the last. I thought the movie was great. Everyone these days is so greedy for more than what they got and just can't be satisfied with anything. Tim Burton always goes out of the norm and this is another one. I think they movie was well casted and the costumes and special effects where good.
