Alice in Wonderland 5 stars if you like special effects, photography, and make up. Anne Hathaway is creepy beautiful even as a platinum blonde with black eyebrows. Johnny Depp excellent as usual. Slow at times, Worth the money and I wish I had seen it in 3D but ultrascreen was cool enough.

I went into this movie with low expectations because the trailer made it look like just another "fantasy epic" even with the epic battle at the end. Now when I went I was pleasantly surprised by how involved Johnny Depp as Hatter was but for the most part the characters seemed flat and uninteresting. Alice seemed bored throughout most of the movie instead of bewildered or scared or any other emotion. The movie failed to develop emotional connections between the character just seemed to be on "we've seen this story before auto pilot." Being a fan Tim Burton and of the Alice in Wonderland stories and various incarnations of movies and miniseries I wanted to like this movie a lot but found it not bad but forgettable.

Alice in wonderland was pretty much what I expected since Tim Burton directed it and Johnny Depp was the mad hatter. I love Tim Burton's crazy twists on films, and I love to see Johnny Depp in wacky films like this one because I think that is his calling as an actor. I did not, however, like Anne Hathaway as the white queen. I thought she ruined the part for me, but not the movie. It was a good movie!

The best allegory for growing up since Into the Woods by Sondheim. Bonham - Carter stole the movie with a villianous Red Queen that you didn't know wether to hate or feel sorry for. the actors were great and the lead actress Mia Wasikowska shined for a great cast she was placed in a movie she will be remembered for. the costumes and graphic were fantastic . I saw it in 2d definitly have to see it in 3D too. a few scary parts for the little ones but my 6 year old enjoyed it very much.Tim burton as usally and unusal as his movies are this is another ever lasting one for him. I was hoping this movie would be magical and enchanting, and would allow me to escape into a mind-bending alternative universe for a couple of hours (like Avatar) . . . but it wasn't and it didn't. Tim Burton's "Wonderland" is, for the most part, a dark and depressing place. The movie has very little humor or lightness, and the Mad Hatter's dance at the end, for which we have been waiting for over an hour, is a big let down. Also . . . this is not a great movie for small children. My two year old was somewhat entertained, but my 3 and a half year old was traumatized by the dragon. Also, we saw the 2D version of the movie because my 2 year old would not wear 3D glasses for two hours. I'm sure the 3D version would have been more interesting.

It was refreshing to see a movie that did not have sexual undertones everywhere. I thought the production team did a masterful job of bringing a classic story to life. was done in true tim burton style,very artistic movie, i loved the colors and the dark touch to the story. alice is all grown up in this movie it was cool to point out which characters represented her friends and family such as tweedle dee and tweedle dum. im glad it stuck to the alice in wonderland story and that it was like a sequel rather than changing the story to be something else. my 13 year old daughter who is a huge fan of time burton loved this movie.

WOW! That movie was soooooo good. It takes a couple minutes to wrap your mind around the fantasy filming, but that in itself is something to behold. Everything was incredibly well done and the movie was overall amazing.

Undeveloped characters. Huge and ridiculous jumps in plot (even for a crazy place like "underland". Johnny Dep couldn't decide which accent he wanted to use so why not use English, Scottish and American!?! (he's the mad hatter he can do anything he wants because he's crazy right?) The only fun characters were the queens but they couldn't save the film. The ending outside of "underland" was absolutely preposterous and killed whatever shred of the movie i had still enjoyed.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I thought the movie overall was very good. The graphics were great and the acting awesome. It was slow and a bit predictable but what evil vs good is not predictable. I would recommend watching in a theatre where you can get the best graphics.
