My expectations were definately blown out of the water. The movie was absolutely amazing. My opinion may be biased since I am a Tim Burton fan, but it is still an amazing movie! The only thing I did not like was not having the concept of it being a "sequel" click in my mind fast enough.

This movie is beautifully executed, but suffers from what a lot of fairly tales brought to the big screen do: a thin plot. In fact, it would be better with 20 fewer minutes. The acting and visual effects are believable, and fit perfectly with the story. And, it masterfully simulates what a dream might look and feel like. But, in the end it could have been better with a bit of careful editing.
I give this movie 3-1/2 mushrooms out of 5.

Tim Burton did a great job on this film. I know the trailers makes this movie seem a bit scary for children,but my 7 year old loved it. I was witty, and heartwarming. My favorite part had to be that Madd Hatter dance.

This is definitely not the Disney movie.
I enjoyed it because it filled out some of the story (why the Mad Hatter became mad, why the Red Queen was so mean, etc.).
Helena Bonham Carter was excellent as the Red Queen. I really enjoyed her performance. You could almost feel sorry for her character.

I wasn't expecting this to be a continuation of the original story, but Burton and Depp did an excellent job. I saw it in 3D, then in 2D with some friends. The 3D looked way better than the old-school blue & red 3D. It really added to the movie sucking you in. I think I'll go see it again next weekend.

The movie was pretty boring to me - it seemed pretty flat throughout...until approximately the last 10-15 min. My goddaughter enjoyed it, which was a bonus, but it bore me to the point where I almost fell asleep. I would have been better off waiting for this to come on TV. As my cousin said, this appeared to be more of a "made for TV movie" than something for the big screen.

This version did an exceptional job at creating and describing the story, leaving all confusion out of it. The colors were great and the characters were perfectly fitting in their roles. My 8 year old understood the analogies between her real life characters and the characters of Wonderland. I think that's great. Not at all too slow. Superb movie!!

O.K. - I love Tim Burton and all of his crazy cohorts(actors). The beginning was promising, but then it turned into "the poor man's version" of that Lion, Witch & Wardrobe movie. Action/battle scenes were not Carollesque....seemed like they were trying for some basic mainstream stuff. I got very bored about half way through....maybe it was 2/3 through....I can't remember......yawn. Johnny Depp was fun. Crispin Glover could have been wackier...I think he's more interesting in real life. Anyways, see it if you don't mind getting 2/3 of a good show.

I honestly didn't find it that amazing. The scenery was beautiful and the actors well chosen but somehow the pieces didn't fall together very well. It kind of never got off of its feet. A little boring, to tell the truth.

This movie was for older kids 10and up and adults. There were fantasy scenes which younger kids may not understand, and may be afraid of. The action, adventure, inspiration and humor, made the movie very entertaining for older kids and adult audiences. I highly reccomend this movie for families!

I would recommend this movie...but in 3D. The special effects seem to be done with intention for 3D! Very well acted and the animations just seem to blend so well. It's the traditional story, but with a darker, gothy feel. I did find myself longing for a more traditional costume for Alice. Pity that my mind had time to notice. But, all in all, great special effects, great characters, and a great contribution to a traditional story in a darker vision.

I'm tired of seeing a slew of adaptations of "Alice in Wonderland" that remove its key traces of madness in pursuit of a more serious tale. Not one single character was "mad" enough in this film...the closest to it was the March Hare, who needed more dialogue, and the Red Queen's one line about "a warm pig for her aching feet." What should've been a creative, madcap movie fell victim to the EPIC FANTASY / QUEST/ FORETELLING motif that plagues fantasy films today. And I wasn't even impressed by Johnny Depp, which to me is sacriligious in and of itself as I believe he can do no wrong. I wanted to desperately like this film but found myself bored with its predictability and lack of insanity. I would recommend this film only for its visuals.

Tim Burton has done it again. He made a movie that was full of wonder and had some twists to it. Although, the way the white queen acted was a bit.. too much. The movie is what one would expect from a Tim Burton film, kind of dark and some scenes might be a little scary for kids, but overall a good movie.

My two daughters and I went to see this and really enjoyed the entire film. My 11 year old was frightened by some of the scenes but overall liked the movie. My 6 year old however loved everything about it. The fantasy atmosphere was my favorite part of the movie, very well done. Johnny Depp did a very good job as the Mad hatter, my 16 year old daughter did see some of Jack Sparrow in his character. There are many comical scenes that left me laughing even after I left the theatre. We really enjoyed this movie, so much we want to see it again and it will be added to our library of movies when it comes out on DVD.

The movie was overall a very good film, although I felt that the huge marketing of the film with Johnny Depp as the the star should have been shifted to Mia Wasikowska or Helena Bonham Carter, who gave much better performances than Depp.

I felt the story kept me interested the whole time. Helena Bonham Carter was my favorite character and her two fat boys! Everyone was great, Anne Hathaway might have got on my nerves a bit, but she did okay too. Tim Burton totally owned this adaption, and Johnny Depp was convincing once again that he was born to remake these quirky characters like no other.
