I thought this movie was great. I loved the casting, thought the humor was very subtle and appropriate, and thought the underlying theme (girl doing what she wants to do as opposed to what she's supposed to do), was fantastic. Empowering. Loved the special effects and thought the plot was well written. Will definitely see this again.

The storyline existed and was entirely followable, of course there was the silliness that is Alice that had several in the audience wondering what was going on, but that is ALICE.. Sheesh! The eye candy is amazing. I could watch this one 5 more times and I know I would see something new each time. This will be a must buy on DVD!

It was a great movie! Everything about it was Tim Burton...the music, the costumes, the makeup, the scenery...it was great! I just wish he would have named it something else, as it wasn't REALLY the story of Alice in Wonderland...maybe Return to Wonderland? Doesn't change how great the movie was though! I was a little apprehensive about going to see Alice in Wonderland, only because I was not looking forward to watching a movie dominated by computer graphics and lacking in true believable characters. But, I was presently surprised that the movie was more about storytelling and a theme of believing in yourself and doing the right thing. What a great movie and a wonderful wonderland to be transported to. I'd watch it again and am glad that Johnny Depp still continues to amaze with his ability to adopt the persona of crazy but endearing characters.

This movie was great...and just what I expected from Depp... AWESOME!!! I loved how the director stayed true to the book. He only made changes when he thought it would better the story and he was right on target all the time. Hathaway was awesome as the white queen and so was the red queen. For me this movie did what the animated version Disney made did not, it brought the story to life. Lastly, although Depp was the star, I am glad the whole movie did not revolve around him. I can't wait for the next one, yes there will be a second, but as with all movies these days it seems, the second one will tell the beginning. Great movie, must see!!!

the graphics in the movie were sweet, but i expected more out of the plot. Normaly Tim Burton has a crazy hidden meaning that trips u out, but this movie was pretty much the same as the cartoon version. Maybe if it wasn't rated PG Tim Burton could have made it more interesting. Tim Burton sold out to Disney for this one

I didn't expect this film to be so good! From the opening credits to closing, non stop action and entertainment. The characters brought Carrol's novel to life in a way that made them seem real. Burton & Depp are usually a must see combination of unique visual delights and quirky characters, and this movie has plenty of both but with a certain restraint not usually seen from Burton. I enjoyed the movie and the storyline, but it almost felt like a cross between The Wizard of Oz and The Brothers Grimm - a morality tale told with extreme quirkiness and a desire for a slightly different/better ending. The standout actor for me was Crispin Glover, not Johnny Depp. Depp played a character we have seen at least 3 or 4 times before, and didn't really bring anything new to the role...well, the eyes were pretty nifty!
All in all, a good take on a classic story but I missed the Burton quirky twist to this classic story.

I love Johnny Depp so I had to go see this movie. I wouldn't say it was his best movie but it was not his worst. I saw the preview for the movie in 3D but ended up watching it in 2D. If this movie had been the story of Alice in Wonderland, it would have been great. It was actually the story of Alice Through the Looking Glass, which is very different. As an Alice in Wonderland fan since the age of 4, I am still waiting for someone to make a (good) movie of Alice in Wonderland, not Alice Through the Looking Glass. Johnny Depp was fantastic as always and I did enjoy the characters greatly, but I felt that the movie title was false advertising.

I love this movie because of the makeup, hair, nails, choreography, acting, and english accents. It was a little violent (not overly) with romance, love, hate, and beautiful backgrounds. The music was great too. Always loved the story anyway.

I was very pleased with Tim Burton's interpretation of this movie. I feel he finally got it right. Johnny Depp was perfect as the Mad Hatter, Mia Wasikowska was a wonderful Alice. Full of innocense and poise. I did not know what to expect with this movie, but I left wanting to see it again.

Tim Burton did a wonderful job of telling this story. It had all the elements that I have come to love in his films. Subtle comedy, good storyline, great characterizations and hidden surprises that just completed the effect. I saw it in 2D and am going to try to see it in 3D soon.

Definitely not for young children. I enjoyed the new twists to the story. I thought the battle scene was going to be more intense though. I found the tweedle twins less annoying than in the disney version.
