Alice in Wonderland did a great job at making social commentary as well as simply being fun to watch. It did seem, however, a little rushed. It would have been even more enjoyable had the movie been a little longer to develop the characters more.. Give you a better understanding of all that's taken place since the last time Alice was there and how these people are different since that time too. Over all though, I loved it! There's no questioning Tim Burton's visual genius!!

The 3 of us loved this movie, three girls aged 6, 37 and 65. I was just disappointed that there wasn't any of the original music. I still love the sound track from the 50's in the original movie. The cast was perfect, the 3-D in IMAX was easy to watch and beautiful. Just don't know how most families can afford it plus the snack bar is so over priced. A lady in front of me charged over $50. in junk food. The tickets to 3-D IMAX are overpriced. I wonder if it really costs so much to make a movie like that so they can charge so much for tickets?

It is a really good movie. Definitely go see it with older kids not younger it has some scary scenes in it and it has a smoking caterpillar. Otherwise the story line is good and the overall sci fi fantasy effects are excellently produced. The key actors in the movie steal the show and the chesire cat is way too cool. Go see it with your kids and family just caution with kids under 6 years old. Great family movie.

This is not Alice in wonderland. The story is more like a retelling of the Jabberwoky or even Alice through the Looking Glass. It is her return to wonderland. Movie was not even near what it was proclaimed to be by ads and reviewers. It was boring. Also could not understand many lines that were spoken. Overall very disappointing. I loved this movie - was inspired by the use of Jabberwocky, the representation of madness (from the Hatter's voices to his eyes - make up and eye color), to the fact that it was a movie about power and politics where all those with real and potential power - the most real and potential power - were women. It was brilliant! The only weakness (to me) was the White Queen - she did not come off as organic (felt like an Hathaway playing the white queen rather than the White Queen herself). Everyone else, though, was great, fabulous even. I loved the fantasy - and that's what I want in a movie: fantasy, creativity, escape... This had it all :)

I took my preteen son and a friend to the movie. I didn't realize I purchased 2-D tickets. However, the movie was great anyway. We all enjoyed watching it and had a great time. Even though i feel that a little too much hype was put on the movie, I am glad that Mr. Burton did not make it too unbareable for the child audience. The characters were just as humerous as they are in the cartoon version...but i do strongly advise parents to remind their children that this is just a movie and not to try the off with the head thing.;)

I sat there watching the volumes of dark, violent, depraved and trauma being dished up by Disney and I couldn't help but think how diametrically opposite a Disney flick tends to be from say a movie like Avatar. Disney movies, reflect Disney nature and Disney character and they seem to always struggle to try and appear "Good".
I found the movie to be less than desirable, even hideous. Yes, there is "Entertainment" but I would say at a price too high.

Just what you would have expected from Tim . The red queen is definitely the nasty you would expect to see in something so demented..and that head, GEEZ, so huge! The film does tend to move quickly, and although i loved johnny depp as the mad hatter, he kept switching his accent purpously and sometimes it was hard to know what the hell he was saying! I saw this in 2-d and it was vivid and interesting to watch, so i can imagine what 3-d was like. To sum it up. Bitchy red queen, flitty white queen, take-no-crap Alice, Mental mad Hatter, creepy and interesting added characters with a fast paced story line. Not too shabby, Tim.

I've always been a fan of Alice in Wonderland. So when I heard there was going to be another movie based (I'm pretty sure..) on the second book, Through the Looking Glass & Alice's Adventures, I was pretty excited. My nephew, 9, and I went to see it on opening night and though he hadn't seen the original Alice in Wonderland movie, he loved it.
The movie was very funny, clever and also a bit twisted like Burton tends to do, the characters were brilliant as well as spectacular to look at. The effects were great and the storyline never left you bored.
Overall, I thought this was a great, suspenseful and comedic film for children as well as adults that was very entertaining and left my nephew and I wanting more.

A teenaged Alice in a coming of age/modern story line set in an ageless Wonderland. Pretty fabulous. I found this adaptation/continuation beautifully shot and visually mesmerizing. Most know the tale, but you'll find this Alice a little different and intriguing. Mia W. was the PERFECT Alice and the supporting cast is just what you'd expect too -- exceptional. Special effects bring that WOW factor - Tim Burton style. Good triumphs over evil - and you'll have a fantastic time along the way. Don't miss it - young and old

I don't care what the critics say, this movie was epic. There was scarcely a moment where I was not either laughing my ass off or gasping and I'm not just saying this as a Depp fan. This movie gets two thumbs up and a gigantic, cheek-numbing grin from me!

This movie was horrible! It is obvious that the creators were more focused on the special effects then in the content of the movie. THIS MOVIE IS MISS TITLED AND SHOULD BE CALLED "ALICE IN WONDERLAND 2" given that it varies significantly from the original story by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and the Walt Disney cartoon adoption. It was anything but pleasant.
