I really liked this movie. I feel that Mr. Perry is branching out and becoming more versatile. Kathy Bates and Alfe Woodard had me cracking up throughout the entire picture. The only thing thing that struck me as odd was the naivete of Mr. Rockman's character. He was just a little TOOO cluless.

I'm probably in the minority here, but there were several problems with the movie. First of all, it did move incredibly slow but I found the movie to be a bit disjointed and some of the dialogue unbelievable and predictable. I love Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard, but together, I did not feel the chemistry. I find a lot of problems with the choosing of casts for Tyler's movies. Sometimes he chooses heavyweights for lightweight films or stars that just don't go together, like Rick Fox and Angela Bassett. The plot was good but I still say, "Why did I get married was the best one yet"!

Excellent job overall. Great storyline. Tyler Perry took a backseat in his role and allowed the others to show themselves. Great variety of cast. No cursing, no violence (besides the wife getting backhanded...which she deserved), and yet still a great movie that kept your attention throughout. Loved Kathy Bates character, as well as Cole Hauser (did I mention that is a fine white man!!!!)

Wow, Brother Perry did an AWESOME job with writing, production and direction on this one! My husband and I have been catching up on purchasing the DVD's to add to our movie library, and this one will certainly be purchased (legally) ASAP! Hubby wanted to stay in the theatre and wait until the movie began again! I believe audience members could relate to one or another of the character's life situations. I enjoyed seeing the inter-mingling of two families of the different backgrounds - blending in positive ways - giving respect to diversity of each other's cultures. VERY GREAT STORY LINE!

I absolutely loved the movie, it was great! I would go see it again. It was also nice to see a movie with out Madea in it. She is a fabulous character but it was refreshing to not always see her in a movie as other characters can create a great cast and show... His new movie, T"he Family That Preys" is such a welcomed departure from the genre that he has become famous for. Don't get me wrong, I ADORE Madea and her antics, but this film was somehow different. It was so well-developed that it felt more like those serious blockbusters that is likely to get the Hollywood Brass' attention with its all-star cast, intricate, unpredicatable storylines, and crossover appeal. I have studied directing for Film and Television on a Master's Level so I can not just look at a film for it's entertainment value. I look for great cinematography, angles, shots, storyline, character protrayal, etc. He has done a good job once again. I enjoyed every minute of it, and proudly stand behind its directoral and cinematic quality.

The movie was excellent. The plot was unexpected. This was Tyler's best movie yet. I had not seen Robin play a good role in a while, she is normally playing the chickenhead. And Sanaa played her character well. I was waiting the whole movie for someone to put her in her place. Overall I enjoyed the overtone of dynamic relationships.

I enjoyed this movie. While I like most Tyler Perry movies, I did feel like this one had a little more substance and less comedic flare. It was still funny at times, but more dramatic than comedic. The production quality was better, too.
He had a great cast and it is full of little surprises. Well done in my opinion.

The storyline was riveting and real. I think we all know the type of people that were portrayed in this movie. Its definitely his best movie, yet.
