I loved it, it was his best film to me by far... the other adaptations left something to be desired, but this one was really really good... it was believable, and I liked the fact that it wasn't his usual "happy ending", there was some poetic justice for the characters, and I really went through a range of emotions while watching the movie... I laughed, and I cried... and it was just a really full film that anyone could enjoy even if you've never been exposed to any other Perry films or plays... and I liked the fact that the dialogue included the mutters under the breath that you hear in real dialogue "you better tell her to go to hell!" genius!

As usual, Tyler Perry always leaves his audience wanting more. Each film seems to be better than the last. I loved how Tyler wowed us by casting Sanaa Lathan as the antagonist. She did her thing out there. Even then, I was excited about the return/performance of veterans Kathy Bates and Alfred Woodard. I even liked Perry's role as Ben. Whether Perry stars, writes, or directs, you have to give him his props for his ability to endure the cutthroat business of Hollywood.

Overall I thought this was a good movie. Although it was different from the rest of his movies ( no madear) I wouldn't consider it to be a comedy. First of all, the acting was EXCELLENT in this movie and Kathy Bates stole the show! This movie covers a variety of issues and emotions, however, there are times you want to reach in the screen and slap some of the characters and say "wake up, can you really be that naive???" But overall, it's entertaining and I'd highly recommend.
