I thought this movie was the worst movie I'd seen in quite some time! The music was overbearing and instead of creating suspense it detracted from it. Skip it entirely and save the $10!

An exceptional film. Superb acting. I knew I could count on Scorsese. I would have gladly paid twice the price of admission! This is a psychological thriller--intellectually stimulating--those who expect a horror film will be disappointed. I plan to see it again within the week.

I enjoy flics of all kinds and can almost always find something enjoyable about 99% of them... but this film is really really bad...the music score is supposed to exude dread and fear but instead is so loud and totally disconnected from what's on the screen. It was annoying and distracting through most of the film,
And the film itself brought audience members to laughter on several occasions.
Dreadful movie and one of the worst I've ever viewed. Don't waste your money going to see it.

My husband and I both read Shutter Island years ago and thought it a great read SO couldn't wait to see the movie..couldn't imagine how it could be translated on film...they did a great job BUT having read the book..the mystery was NO mystery....so in saying that, if you have read the book take a NODoze before going to the movie, if you haven't read the book..go see the movie and pay attention..

I was very disappointed in this film. It was not scary or suspenseful. DiCaprio was below average , IMO. The story was predictable, and unsatisfying. I do not advise anyone to pay $10 to see this forgettable movie. Wait for the DVD, or skip it entirely.

definitely see this film, it's amazing. it's not what the promos suggest,- a horror story about ghost in an insane asylum. It;s s suspenseful thriller with endlessly delicious clues. Loenardo shows such intimate emotions you cannot stay detached. And Mark Ruffalo will make you want him to be in your life instead of up on the screen.

This movie failed on all counts. Shame on Scorcese for putting his name on this. Movies that come out in February and considered to be thee duds by those in the know and in this this case they were right. It would in no way be a contender for any awards. The concept of the movie is great, but it drags on and on. And because Leonardo's character is delusional, you have no idea what it is truly going on until the very end, and even then you are forced to rush to piece together parts of the movie that you had no idea were relevant at the time you were viewing them.

The trailor made this movie look like it would be incredible! I always love DiCaprio and Scorcese, but this was such a disappointment. There was nothing suspenceful or scary. It really wasn't even a good story line. Very disappointing. DiCaprio does a good acting job as usual, but not worth the money. Wish I had seen something else on my night out. :(
