I've seen almost every movie at the theaters. So, my motivation for seeing Shutter Island was: It was playing. Loved the movie: Leonardo Dicaprio was unbelievably convincing, Mark Ruffalo - perfect in his part, Michelle Williams - haunting.
Intricate plot to held my interest and brought me in the movie. At times, I questioned what is the reality? Whose side am I on? Love the psychology in the movie.
Go see it!

Forget Silence of the Lambs; Forget :I see dead people"; Forget :Rear Window. Shutter Island is the best story telling, suspense, acting, movie making EVER!! I'm a so-so Leo fan, but if he doesn't get an Oscar nod for this I will stop watching awards shows. Right down to the last sentence of the movie - it is superb! I walked out saying that was one of the greatest movies ever made! Wow - go see it.

This movie was pretty good. I do agree with some of the other comments in that it does leave you kind of hanging at the end. The storyline leaves you guessing and definitely makes for discussion afterwards. Worth going to see...

This movie was entertaining, maybe not on the level of other Scorsese movies, but worth the trip theater. DiCaprio continues to show that he is overlooked as one of the better actors in Hollywood. Look for Jackie Earl Haley in a great cameo!

There was not as much gore in this movie as I expected based upon reviews, and that's a good thing for me. The movie made me feel something and actually made me jump once which hasn't happened to me in over 10 years...couple that with the story and I give this 4/5 stars, already recommended it to coworkers and friends.

Don't waste your money seeing this movie in the theater. Wait for it to arrive on DVD. You have already seen all the suspenseful parts in the preview. I was pretty disappointed in paying $17.00 to see this movie on the Ultra Screen. Definately not worthy of this venue and after seeing the movie had wished I waited out on DVD.

Didn't know much about this movie going into it. My girlfriend read the book but disclosed nothing to me. Overall I thought the movie was very entertaining and kept my interest the whole time. The length was maybe a little too long, but with the ending they provide, it's worth the wait. Don't get too excited about the "some nudity" description...it's not what you think!!!

This movie is a must see! I went with my dad and sisters yesterday and we all loved it! You kind of figured out the plot twist half way through the movie but that didn't make the ending any less powerful. The acting was superb! A true psychological thriller. There were a couple of gory scenes but for any of you out there that have a weak stomach, you can definitely handle this movie. This movie has everything: suspense, intrigue, action, romance and drama. I realize that ticket prices are expensive, but this flick is def worth the price of admission.

After reading the book I was very interested to see how it would translate in the theatre. I was not too disappointed. The suspense and mystery played well. Not sure if you hadn't read the book if all the suttle nuances were caught by those who had not read the book.

Fantastic film, stunning cinematography and intriguing plot. Scorcese and Di Caprio have done it again in this mind altering thriller about an indisposed detective whose investigation drags him further into the depths of insanity that he could have imagined. Predictable plot with an interesting conclusion, climatic points sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommend this film, sure to be one of the best of the year.
