A better movie for kids than for adult fans of the franchise. Plenty of action, but an extremely basic plot. Predictable buddy-buddy shennanigans between Anakin and his apprentice undermine the bold idea of giving him one. Has all the weaknesses of the prequel trilogy in terms of dialogue and pacing, and "Anakin" doesn't seem very Anakin-like. Too nice, not cocky or hot-tempered enough. The best thing I can say about Clone Wars overall is it may get kids who don't know or care about the SW franchise interested in it.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars was exactly what a cartoon should be - entertaining! Do NOT listen to critics who complain about the animation, the battles, the story, everything! They have lost the ability to enjoy things with a child-like view of the world - and that's who this movie is for the kids (of all ages)! The lightsaber duels are stunning, the visuals exemplary, and - for kids - I would think the struggles of a young Jedi-in-training girl would offer up all sorts of wonderful lessons about trying hard, being listened to, and being taken seriously depsite your age. This movie is Steven Speilberg's Band of Brothers for a new generation. This movie gives you the feeling on how to be in the trenches. You feel for Comander Rex and his battalion and get inside the interaction with the Generals and Admirals, which are the Jedi, interact with the troopers. They can even see the action through the eyes of someone their age in Ahsoka Tano and enjoy the juvenile humor of the federation droids. My son and I went to see this movie together and he loved it. I didn't think I would like it because it was animated but I really enjoyed it too! It was put together in the same spirit as the Star Wars sagas have all been and it was great. The characters were very close in likeness to the actors who played the parts and even my 7 year old noticed that. This is a real go see movie.

Awesome movie! I'm an avid Star Wars fan and this was definately in the tradition and spirit of the series. Great bad-guys and excellent job with the storyline. The only thing I would have liked is some background on the "apprentice sith"... I thought there was only supposed to be one master and one apprentice yet Palpatine, Dooku, and another apprentice were in the movie. Overall it was an excellent movie that I will definately buy on video and watch over and over again.

What happened to cutting edge? What happened to a storyline that makes sense to the saga? This one had many issues. The first is that they lightsaber fighting was very chunky and angular, not smooth. The jedi weren't real and the live actors moved faster. The plot: someone has stolen Jabba the Hutt's son-what does that have to do with the clone wars? Where was the opening crawl? Where was the theme music? And like all other stories within Starwars that isn't the 6 movies, where is the continuity with the greater story? The animated shorts that were created showed Asaaj Ventress falling into an abyss on Yavin 4. Does this story occur after, this? Why does Anakin have a padawan? This does not make any sense to the greater story?

My son took his sister (7 yr. old) and 5 friends to see this movie for his 11th birthday and they all loved it! Nothing too scary or profane. OK, so the movie starts, the music's a little different, and then they start the monologue that seems like a bad movie preview… I was a little scared at this point that someone had played a horrible trick on me and that this was not the right theatre. Then the actual movie started…and I started getting impressed. Dooku looks like his head is WAY too long with his fake looking beard, but otherwise, the animation and special effects are wonderful! There are a number of really good slap-stick moments, some great drama, and some pretty intense moments. As I’ve reflected on the movie, I realize that I really want to see it again. I’m giving it a 5 star as most movies take me a month or two to want to see again, while this one did it overnight!

I definitely would have liked to have seen Mace Windu more, but the comedy and storyline were terrific. The movie was different than those 5 min episodes that I had watched. I was so excited that they had made a full length movie. Those 5 min. episodes were always so exciting full of action and always left me wanting more. The full length movie didn't quite get me so excited to see what was going to happen next. It was slow in many parts.However i did like the humor in the movie. The droids were pretty funny. Overall I would recommend the movie but with a warning not to expect the same as the mini episodes.

I took my 11 year old and his 10 year old friend. They loved this film and applauded at the end. I fount the script wooden and flawed. The characters one dimensionally written. The animation is good looking but the character animation is mostly stiff. Adults will find this an unsatisfying movie experience.

I've been a devoted Star Wars fan all my life. This movie introduces a whole new fan base to the saga. The kids I was in line with looked forward to it as much as I did when the original trilogy came out. It was nice to see excitement like that.

I am embarassed for George Lucas.. this movie was a big swing & a HUGE miss. I really wanted this movie to rock & sadly i was very disappoined. the story has nothing to do with Star Wars cannon & the "acting" is very weak. i do have to agree with another reviewer, this is perfect for kids, who need the constant action to keep their attention, for me, i wanted more of a plot. great for a 99 cent bin. not for $8.00 in a theater.

Very nicely done. It wasn't exactly the same as the original series, but it fit in pretty well, and it was very fast-paced and interesting. I also liked what they did with the music. Good movie, I could watch it again.

I want my money back Lucas. Definitely felt like it was an elongated kids show. Maybe if you had centered the story on the young apprentice it might have been more interesting. Really disappointed with the "uncle" of Jaba and his perfect transvestite english. sigh.
