The themes of honor and duty that have become a hallmark of the prequel trilogy return in The Clone Wars. Anakin gains a Padawan learner who can be as reckless as he was before he became a Jedi Knight. This movie was just right. If you are a Star Wars fan from the origianl movies and now your children are becoming fans also, then this movie is perfect. This movie is animated and definitley exciting and entertaing for the kids. I thought having a young jedi in training was smart and relatable. The story was complex and at the same time basic enough for kids to follow and enjoy! If you do not have children but, are a real fan then you will also appreciate and enjoy this movie. Just remember it is ANIMATED and more for kids so realx and have fun!

While not the worst offering from Lucasfilm (i.e. the ABC series Droids), Clone Wars neither brings notable new variables to the Star Wars creative gene pool, nor renders aid sufficient to breath new life into this tired genre and set of overly familiar characters. Also missing from this movie, as was with the prior three prequel films, was any sort of character exploration or definition. Empire left the audience believing they knew Han Solo. This can't be said for this barely feature length film that views like a miniseries montage of half-baked anime episodes. George Lucas had better get back to his lab and start experimenting, because this Clone won't have a long lifespan, and is no substitute for the real thing.

I have been to every Star Wars opening that I could get to and felt compelled to see "The Clone Wars." I was expecting a long Saturday morning cartoon. Let me tell you, it was Star Wars, and it was worthy of a big screen movie. Yes, some of the standard "Star Wars" things are missing (no fanfare, a narrated opening crawl), but that only added to its uniqueness. It harkens back to the original trilogy with focused action and a good story but most importantly great character development. The characters are true to the movies and the new voice actors are excellent (only Mace, 3PO and Dooku reprise). This is an excellent Star Wars movie and a great launch for the new series. This movie could easily replace Episode II in my DVD collection.

Best if you have seen the prior Star Wars. The animated format works with the young set as they relate it to video games. For me, age 62, not a fan of video games I did not care for the animation, but I did enjoy seeing how much my 7 yr old grandson enjoyed it.

I have been a Star Wars fan since I saw the first movie on its opening day. I have enjoyed each successive move, though some more than others. I have introduced my 11 year old son to the series through VHS & now DVDs and now there is this movie. He was pumped about it and I was cautiously optimistic. I was skeptical about the transition from real life to animated feature. The movie however did calm my misgivings and it is a very good film. The story line, characters and action were all up to par and I hope that this is not the last of these features. Great, family friendly movie to take in as a matinee with your kids. Keep up the great storytelling work Geroge Lucas.

I grew with the Star Wars trilogy since I was 7 years old. I was not really blown away with the technology and had several issues with the movie. It really distracted me from the movie. Initially, I was thrown off by the absence of the initial crawl and the opening music, even the games have the crawl. Stay true. I had issue with the storyline also. Where was it mentioned that Anakin had a padawan before this movie? Where did Ventress come from? We are introduced to her in the shorts as a mysterious Sith that was killed by Anakin on Yavin 4. I was shocked to see her and try to figure out where in the storyline this movie fit. It is a great story but did not really fit into the greater story that is the Star Wars Saga

It's a good story, it makes sense, let's one see more of the relationships between the main Star Wars characters. Good animation. Good sound. i would buy the DVD used. i wouldn't see it again in the theater. Young children will enjoy this movie, it isn't complicated or bloody or traumatic, simply a good entertaining time. Sometimes, that's exactly what one wants.

First Impressions. Not As Vibrant or Striking as the Full Motion Pictures with a Story Line that is very shallow. Llacked entertwined story lines. New Characters? Too predictable, Very little suspense. Good humor in spots. Annimation was good. The base premise in the Star Wars Norms. Not as richly developed as the movies. No reality feeling no Hiss of of the Light Sabers, or jump and bump to light speed. I was a bit disappointed. The Suspense Factor was gone. Left me feeling cold. Very Anti-Climatic.

I am a Star Wars series fan and I thought the story-line was great. At first I I thought the animation was a little primitive when compared to other films but got used to it. My 4 year-old thought it was scary so we left and walked around the mall. Will have to see it again to see what happened in the end!

I took a birthday party of nine 7-year old boys to see this movie. They all LOVED it! They were all so excited to see the movie and this one did not disappoint them! I think they would have watched it again! We had a great time. It's always fun to see more of the star wars universe. Like Ep 1 and Ep 2, this is more Star Wars lite...meant more for kids than for adults but it's OK. Follows the same formula as all the movies so nothing new in terms of plot/resolution. The animation is impressive. As someone who grew up with the originals I was underwhelmed but seeing it with my kids was fun and they enjoyed it. Go in with low expectations and you'll come out fine.

But, then again, it's a animated movie. My two young children (4 & 5) enjoyed the movie, and even though I thought I'd be napping throughout this movie I stayed fully awake until the ending credits were rolling up the screen. The movie introduced some characters not seen in any prior Star Wars movie, and one has to wonder if they'll ever make an appearance in any non-animated Star Wars movie. The attempts at humor and character interaction was difficult to detect with the animated "actors and actresses" but if you have $7 (or$ 8) dollars to spend I'd reccomend seeing this if your a Stars Wars fan.

Just like all the latest STAR WARS related product, this movie is best when there is no talking and everyone is just fighting. When the fighting stops, and the talking begins, the movie drags you down like a cannonball chained to your ankle. And Zero the Hutt (Jabba's brother?) is just awful. As bad a character as Jar Jar, imho. Wait for the DVD and just skip past the talking parts...and the Zero parts.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I took my 8 and 5 year old sons to see the movie yesterday. I was frankly shocked at the number of open seats in the theater. We arrived early to be sure to get a seat, but we needn't have worried about that. The show rolled with about 20 people in the theater. My kids enjoyed it and my 8 year old (who is somewhat of a geek on the worthless trivia like his father!) talked the entire way home about how it played into the saga. My five year old just liked it, but didn't state his reasons. Overall, I did find the animation a bit jerky and the story seemed a bit off the beaten path of the main road of the saga, but if you are a serious fan, I would recommend seeing the movie...although, maybe go to the matinees to save yourself a few dollars.

My six year old had been counting the days down until the release of this one. He has been an avid fan of all the Star Wars and spin-offs since age two, and now has been reading the comic/animated books from the library. He knew how this story unfolded from the moment the movie started. ( I took my son and a friend of his to an afternoon showing in Digital HD projection) The action rolls nonstop, and my son even held his pee through the whole movie! Both he and his friend were quiet and kept there eyes glued to the screen. This film was not intended for the die hard old school Star Wars fans. It was meant to be something to rouse interest in all the merchandise. Good family fun, and tolerable for the adults escorting young children.

The kids thoroughly enjoyed the movie.....I surprisingly, I did too. I am a big Star Wars fan, but thought that the animated version would not be compelling - I was wrong. I also thought it was clever to include the additional apprentices for Anakin, Dooku and others as a way to connect with the younger target audience. The Star Wars establishment is creating a new generation of loyalist!

I am a huge star wars fan. As an adult, this movie is very very boring, however for anyone under 10 I think it was great.
