After enduring three live action stinkers, I welcome the switch to animation. Let's face it, Star Wars has never had great acting, so why not replace wooden actors with their synthetic equivalent. This movie surprised me at times, held my interest, and my 6 year old loved it. It's definitely a movie where what you bring to it matters almost as much as what's on the screen. If you are expecting Oscar performances, you will be disappointed.

I went with my 10 year old son, 8 year old daughter and Star Wars maniac husband. My son and husband both said it was "ok"; my daughter and I were less than impressed. It took me about 30 minutes into the movie to figure out who was a good guy/bad guy and when the story was taking place (FYI: between Attack of the Clones & Revenge of the Sith). The plot line is too complicated for young kids. Wait for the video.

Star Wars-The Clone Wars is another great story that takes place a long time ago,in a galaxy far,far away. Its another great chapter of the battle between the Republic & The Empire. Great animation and lots of action. My kids & I enjoyed it. We will definitely see it again. I recommend this movie to all families with younger children. Good times for all.

I am glad I hadn't read the reviews before taking my sons to see this film. I can understand adults' disappointment if they were expecting another classic movie. My boys LOVED it! Even the 3-year-old, who I was worried would not sit through the entire performance, was glued to the screen. Star Wars "The Clone Wars" got a huge thumbs-up from my point of view.

I would say I wasn't disappointed at all with this movie. I knew that it couldn't be as good as the original trilogy but it was definite as good if not better than the best of the new trilogy.
I took my daughter 6 and little brother 13, both enjoyed this one. It even got my brother thinking and for the next 2 hours or so he kept asking me questions about star wars in general nothing really directed at the story line if this movie.
We all can't wait for the new cartoon series to air.

The whole movie felt like a (childish) video game. Problem, adventure, resolve, repeat.
This movie completely disregards the universe that spawned it. The plot holes are overwhelming. The characters were weak; the story was even more weak.
On the plus side, the animation was actually very impressive. That's the only plus to the movie.
As an avid Star Wars fan that genuinely WANTS to love everything related to the universe, I don't know how much more disappointed I could have been by this movie.

I am an old time Star Wars fan. This movie was very hard to sit through - the animation was freaky, the jokes were not funny at all and the story was ridiculous. The only way I sat through it was because my 5 year old wanted to see the end of it. Terrible.

First-off I admit that I'm an old-time Star Wars fan (gee how time flys) so I guess I'm a little biased. However, I must say that I, along with my wife and two kids, thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was just what I expected, which is the opening story detailing events that occurred during the "Clone Wars". Unlike other comments I read, I enjoyed the interaction between Anakin and his new apprentice. I totally recommend this movie, especially if you're a Staw Wars fan, but if you're not into animation because you think it's just a "kid thing", then you may as well skip it. Personally, I want more ....

Obviously geared towards the kids, both of mine enjoyed it, and couldn't stop talking about it, although I had to give them the back story as too when this happened. The effects and fight scenes were awesome!

I couldn't believe my eyes. I was overwhelmed by the charaters. The clones were awesome and the music was astounding. It had a great beginning. If only George directed the movie. It would've been better. The acting was amazing. Rex had great acting,he was my favorite character. I think it was better than the original series. It was so fun I didn't want it to end. There was a lot of exciting action and excellent graphics. It was less of a "cartoon" than I anticipated. My eight year old son loved it, so I suppose it all depends on who you ask and who is the audience. Not a waste of money though.

Well I ordered the tickets because my kids and I are, as my husband says "Geeks", we had to see the movie. Well I do have to say that the movie left alot of doors open for sequils but I would have to say this was not one of my favorites. It did however have alot of funny parts in the movie and it was definately one of the better sides to see of Anakin. I think George should have a sit down with some fans and we can tell him what we would like to see. That would be cool! May the Force be with us all!

I hardly wanted to go from reading all of the reviews of this movie, but I came away impressed. A lot of the national reviewers are not SW fans, and a lot of the opinions from moviegoers seem to reflect the traditionalists' attitude (traditionalists being those who think you're not a real SW fan if you like the prequels). The only thing that really got on my nerves was the incessant whining banter back and forth between Anakin and his padawan. This type of interaction is very common in cartoons, but I don't know any parents or elders who accept such cutesy disrespect. Putting that aside, the story line is pretty good, the battles are great, and it is a good start to the animated series.

First, allow me to state that though I have a deep love of Star Wars, my views of TCW were open minded and not one sided. When I saw the prequels, I was less then thrilled by various aspects of them. However, when I saw TCW I enjoyd the feature a great deal. Why? Because I understood that this film is not intended to be seen in the same light as the Normal films. Lucas simply wanted to high-light the amazing animation. This is a cartoon series, and a tongue in cheek one at that. If you can watch this feature with that understanding, you will enjoy TCW.

i was more disappointed with this than scenes from episode 1. An older(like myself) Star Wars fan i would think would be surprised at how they let this happen, maybe it is solely geared towards a new SW generation, like under 12 years old. Looked good, but evrrything else was bad, story, characters, dialogue, jokes etc. Maybe the live action seried coming on tv soon will be better.

I took my 7 year old son and a friend. Both are HUGE Star Wars fans. Seeing all of the movies. They were fidgety through out the movie, and are both usually riveted to movies. The story was weak, and the boys were confused as to when withing the 6 other movies this was suppose to occur. There was no real background given. Thank goodness we only spent 5.00 on this movie..... I would recommend skipping this one. Too many other great family movies out there.

I am a true star wars fan, so I had to see this. Not my favorite of the films, but I always love the classic characters. Could have done without the stupid banter between Anakin and his young padawan learner but the battle scenes were awesome. Animation was amazing. I cant believe how horrid this movie was!!! From the opening introduction to the very end I was squirming in my seat and if I wasn't with friends, I would have walked out.
I know this was more intended for kids, but this was just over the top wrong on every level! I honestly dont know how Mr Lucas can keep ripping the heart out of the franchise, cast in on the ground and repeatedly stop on in in front fans.
I highly recommend that if you are a fan of the Star Wars series, avoid this catastrophe and wait for video.

My 8 year old loved it. But as a long time SW fan, it did not follow the rest of the books/movies. I expected more from Lucasfilm. I also thought the token cuss word was unnecessary, especially since this was obviously made for kids who don't care if it follows the star wars movies. I guess that was put in there to make sure it got the PG rating?

Though I really like the regular Star Wars movies better, this was a great movie with really fun effects. My 7-yr. old loved it and said it was his favorite movie out of all the Star Wars. It's a great prelude to the upcoming TV series. It also had an adorable little plot. Rotta "stinky" was quite adorable and Ahsoka was cute too. I would definitely recommend the movie.

My 9-year-old son and my 7-year-old nephew liked it, but it didn't blow them away. Although not "violent" in terms of graphic gore and stuff, this is about 60% "war movie." My son knew the characters from the 6 "real" movies, but my nephew didn't and he didn't really understand the back story or plot beyond the immediate action. As an adult fan (but not hardcore) of the franchise, I thought this was just OK. Very literal and kind of obvious. But not a bad way to kill a couple hours. Not life-changing, but adequate as mental junk food.

I took both my young boys to see the movie and we loved it! It was action packed and a great way to continue the Star Wars saga and we are now looking forward for more to come.

After a cheesy opening, reminded me of 1950's newsflash, and one cuss word (d*@&) the movie was great. Obvious it was left open to continue the saga and can't wait until it arrives. I also wish a few more of the Jedi were involved like plokoon or kitfisto. Maybe next time.
