I have been a fan of Star Wars since I was 7 and I now have 2 boys of my own who are 10 and 7. We couldn't wait for this one to come out! There are alot of critics saying that this movie was terrible but lets remember that it is ANIMATED and geared for a younger generation. If you are a true fan you appreciate the fact that they are still making these films for future generations to enjoy. The graphics were awesome and the introduction of new characters was a welcomed site. We can't wait for the next movie and for this to be available on DVD!!

We went in with low expectations, but modest hope ... and were rewarded! I enjoyed this animated outing along the same lines as the original Clone Wars cartoon. Both series stand head and shoulders above the prequels - filled with a goofiness and comrade re that is present in the original trilogy and lacking in Episodes I-III.

Great movie for kids who like Star Wars. It was totally age appropriate, not too violent, lots of action and cute parts to give the kids a laugh. The animation was great. My son and his friends loved it and want to see it again. They are all 6,7 and 8.

... it does have some problems. After setting my expectations low (being somewhat disappointed with Episodes I, II, & III), I have to say that I did enjoy this movie. Be warned: you must see the Clone Wars cartoons beforehand. It is geared towards a younger audience. There are some great ideas in the story (Count Dooku's manipulations, for example),but some really lame droid jokes. As in Episodes I, II, & III, there is some disregard to the character's background. On the plus side, it looks really good - some great animation, and the fight between Obi-Wan and Ventress was really nice. If you are a die-hard SW fan, by all means go see it.

I was really excited about this movie after seeing the previews. The trailers made it look much more exciting than it was. Even though it was animated, I didn't expect the movie to be geared towards children, boy was I wrong!
The characters are, for the lack of a better expression, dumbed-down and are nearly void of respectable jedi behavior. Skywalker, being called Sky-Guy? R2-D2, called R2ie? Come on people.
If you have kids that are fans of the series, they will probably enjoy this saturday morning version of the clone wars.

Since Friday, I have see the movie twice, each at a different theater. I don't think I would have chosen to see this movie without my seven year old son (who has been talking about this movie for what seems like ages) but, as cartoons go, it was visually interesting, it did have a plot, character development and enough action to keep my son and his friend entertained- the ENTIRE time. So, I say it's great for kids and not intolerable for their parents.

I took my star wars-obsessed 10-yr old to see this after a summer filled of build up. He liked it, but then again he likes anything related to Star Wars. The movie was horrible! The 90 minutes felt like 90 hours, even with a nap in the middle of it. It was comprable to a never-ending Saturday morning cartoon, only with worse acting.

I’m a huge Star Wars fan, so this was just all around disappointing for me and probably most people my age that grew up with Star Wars. If it wasn’t for my 7 year old son wanting to go, I would have sat this one out. I was appalled that people actually clapped at the end of this movie.

This movie gave the notion that it was to be a tie in for episodes 3 and 4, but the timelines didn't match. Too many crossovers when characters should have not been there and others in a different role. If you are a die hard fan, don't waste your time. I will say my 8 and 6 yr old boys loved it since they have gotten into it due to the Lego Star Wars game and watching the movies with me. The kids will like it, but as as adults, forget about it.

eveyone is being so critical, I thought it was great! of course it was different from the other movies, it was not in the original storyline! looked at as a stand-a-lone story it was really good, my 6 yr old was rivited to the screen for the whole show, and so were his 65 yr old grand parents! lighten up kids, it was fun!!

There is not a whole lot to this movie. It is just one battle after another which is ok but gets tiresome 30 minutes into it. What little dialogue there was, was really hard to watch. The bratty little girl gets on your nerves right away and the scenes with the cuddly little slug will turn your stomache. The plot holes are pretty bad as well. My kids said they liked it but they are 6 and 7. Much older than that and I doubt they would have enjoyed it as much. This movie is definitely targeted at the very young although most of the plot will go over their heads. If you want to watch one fight after another, go see it. Otherwise you will be ready to leave soon after you arrived.

Aug 15th was my son's eighth b-day and being the extreme Star Wars fan that he is he has known about this movie since March! The situation was perfect! The animation was awesome the faces and bodies were on point and I almost forgot I was looking at a animated film. The movement as far as walking was robotic but the battle scenes made up for that by leaps and bounds. Every Star Wars movie is not content appropriate for my child (Episodes1-3) so this one I was very pleased with. The fact of the matter is it is a movie and it transported me and my family to Tattoine, Jaba's Palace and all over the galaxy for the price of a movie ticket! Job well done! The three of us were certainly entertained!

Anyone who is a true Star Wars junkie will be somewhat disappointed by this movie. First of all, the famous Star Wars intro is absent from this film. Instead, it's replaced by an imitation opening, which seems odd, since this is a George Lucas property. The movie is obviously aimed at kids, and entertains them thoroughly in much the same way as a cartoon. This movie probably would have been better watched in my living room rather than in the theatre, where I could have spent less money. In fact, this movie probably should have been aired on TV rather than being released in the theatres. In any case, I give it 3 stars since it is Star Wars, just not what you'd normally expect.

I myself thought this movie was good. I'm 19 years old, and still loved this movie. Sure, there are those older fans that won't like it at all just because they can't give up there old selves and just realize this is the only thing left they can do with Star Wars. The story was good. Just because it has the title "The Clone Wars" doesn't mean that it has to tie into anything. They had the Clone Wars series for a while, and this goes with it in my view. The voices were done very well, especially whoever did Anakin's and Padme's voice this time around. Battle scenes were amazing. Overall good movie.

This movie did not have much of a story to it at all. And what story was there was flawed. For instance, Anakin was never a master and would never have been given a padawan. But whatever. The padawan he was assigned was reckless and opinionated, kind of like him. And it was interesting to see the two interact and develop their relationship. That was the only real story I found. Everything else in this movie was nothing more than a vehicle for the fighting. It seemed like a lot of violence to subject a young child too. Clone soldiers getting blown away left and right. I also expected better animation for a feature film. Overall, I enjoyed it because I am a star wars fan. But unless you are too, you probably won't get your money's worth.

I would only recommend this to a friend with children under 12. The plot was really weak, and obviously with CGI the acting was non-existent. My 5 and 6 year olds loved it, as did my 7 year old nephew. In a generation where most of their (the children) interests are in animated form I can see Lucas Films point in doing this. However they are segregating the older audience. Poor dialouge and Jokes. Great animated action for the kiddies.

If people went into this movie thinking it would be the same as the other movies, they will be disappointed. But if you watch the movie for what it is, a Star Wars movie that kids can enjoy and understand (thus expanding their market for toys and future TV shows), they did a great job. I loved bringing my 6 yr old son to a movie he could thoroughly enjoy, connecting to a storyline that has entertained me since my childhood.

Fine for kids that like the video game and for over board Star Wars Fans, but for an Normal Fan or normal movie goer, this movie does not offer much more than a digital battle for two hours.

This is a Cartoon version, it also follows its own storyline and aside from familiar names and settings from original it's a new storyline unto itself. Its about Anni and his own padwan and their involvement in the rescue of Jabba the huts kidnapped son. It does not tell us when or if this has anything to do with the original storyline and that's because it does not. This movie is one part star wars, one part japanese anime and if you take it as part of Star Wars sextet you will be very disappointed. If however you have a 5 year old and she loves it as mine did then this star wars is just fine. She liked seeing Yoda on the screen and seeing her laugh and smile was worth the price of admission.

It was just OK. The kids seemed to enjoy it but I actually fell asleep at one point as the story line was just dreadfully slow at the beginning. I'm not a SW fanatic but wouldn't recommend except for the kids perhaps. I thought it was a waste of money and wish I would have waited until it was released on DVD.

What a great way to continue the Star Wars legacy. This was a great film for kids, I say that because I have read that the Star Wars Geeks don't like it. It's a cartoon and it is what I expected from a Star Wars Cartoon. Great for kids 6 and up. I took 5 with me ages 6-12 and they had a blast even the girls who don't like Star Wars.

I went with 4 stars simply because my 6 y/o liked it--otherwise I would have given 3. It was decent enough but not "OMG YOU HAVE TO SEE IT" good. My son's been obsessed with SW since he was 2 so I had no choice but to see this movie. I agree that it doesn't seem to have much in common with the movie series other than the characters. I'm still not sure what the point of the movie is/was other than a way to get Lucasfilm more money...

I took three 7 year olds to the movie and they all loved it, they were all star wars fans and knew before going to the theatre when in the saga this took place.
They loved the movie, although my daughter complained it was too loud at one point. I enjoyed it but didn't have huge expectations.
I wonder about the complaints of cheesy dialog, did you see the other SW movies? They are all full of the same type of banter.
This movie is worth the trip for the "new" star wars fans.
