I took my 6 year old and 3 year old sons to this movie and we loved it. The computer animation and character developments were great. We are all Star Wars fans and still related to all the characters in this movie. We are planning on seeing it again.

It's animation, or rather a cartoon. As most have stated, this is a set-up for the cartoon series. Spiderman, Superman, Batman all have cartoon series, now Star Wars does too. I guess it's the next step in the merchandising life cycle. Take it for what it is and you may enjoy it.

The very first thing that caught my attention was the animation lip movement did not match words. The audio and video were timed, just the lip movements could have been better. The storyline was entertaining with alot of action. Some of the dialog for the droids and clone troopers was not what I would expect them to say. Now we need to know what ever happened to Jabba's son. All in all it was entertaining. I was not too impressed with it, having grown up with the saga but my 5 year old liked the cartoonish appeal. I wont be rushing out to get the dvd when it is released.

OK maybe your kids will like it, but that is all this movie has going for it. The movie is almost non-stop action with known characters but not much more. Ive never understood some of Lucas's character choices like battle bots that are bumbling idiots. But the story does hold together. On the other hand, the animation is atrocious. One would have expected much better from a special effect genius. Very disappointing.

I'm a huge star wars fan. I was in grade 9 when the first one came out. This was very different to watch. The computer animation was by far the best I've ever seen, it was on par with Wall-E, although very different. The technical accomplishment was very very impressive. However this story seemed to somehow lack the heart that all the other star wars have. Having said that the character of Ahsoka Tano is where all the emotional investment is. She is trully one of the greatest star wars character of all time. Trouble is I feel that she is ripped off too much from Kaena: The Prophecy, her moves, her innocence, her voice (played by Kristin Durnst) all reminded me too much of Keana.

When did Star Wars become so commercialized that Lucas decided he would rather make a quick buck than keep the legend alive. Take your kids, but leave your memories of a good George Lucas film at home. It just seemed to generic.

My wife is 28 and i'm 32, and we absolutely loved this movie. We were apprehensive about an animated Star Wars, but it exceeded expectations. Granted, the appeal is geared more towards children, but why grow up!

In short- If you liked the cartoon series from Cartoon Network- then this is a MUST SEE. If you have children that are into Star Wars and you like a good animated flick- then this is a MUST SEE. If you're looking for that gripping Sci-Fi drama that you got when you saw Ep. 4 in the theater- then you can wait. That is not to say that this movie wasn't fun because it was- In fact I look forward to the next Star Wars Animation as I'm sure there are more in the works because this leaves that door open. Again, if you are looking for that "A New Hope" experience, this is not it. But if you got a free afternoon, you like cartoons and you and your kids like Star Wars- you should definitely check this out. It's FUN.

Remeber the good old days when Star Wars movies were good? I was a kid when the first trilogy came out. I thought I might be able to relive those days with The Clone Wars. My mistake. This "episode" was just like a television episode. The female jedi Asoka looked like a tribal monkey. Why couldn't she have been designed as a normal looking sexy brown skinned human female? The movie could also have been better if a character like Chubaka or other cool characters from the earlier films were included. The only reseason this mediocre film made it to the theater is because of the Star Wars name and George Lucas' bank account. Hey George! Spot me a couple million and I'll give you a better flic for the fans!

Although a fan of both Star Wars and the "Avatar - The Last Airbender" TV show (written by the same folks), this movie was very disappointing. All action and no substance makes for fun eye candy, but it is little more than a video game you're not playing. The animation was huge in scope - the battle scenes were very impressive - but stiff and clunky when it came to the characters, which, as George Lucas has always said, need to come first. All the impressive special effects animation in the world can't save a boring story told with wooden characters, which is exactly what goes wrong with this film. I would say skip this unless your kid is already a huge Star Wars fan, like mine is, in which case it's a watchable waste of an afternoon.

This is a fun movie for the family. It's not as detailed or "saga-oriented" as the other Star Wars Movies, however, it is more of snippet into the Clone Wars. Funny moments, lots of battle scenes, and familiar characters that keep the kids interested. We particularly enjoyed Jabba's lines!!! I took my 5 year old who is a new Star Wars fanatic. He's seen most of the Star Wars films this summer and has been obsessing about Clone Wars & the toys. The film was entertaining with cool battle scenes. I found the facial expressions a bit stiff with the animation, all in all like watching the story plot of a video game on a big screen. The action sequences are good as can be expected from a George Lucas movie. But what suffers most is the script. Lucas' storytelling abilities have exponentially diminished over time. The story is insipid and utterly boring. It's time for him to quit since he's made enough money from the original films. Don't waste your money on this one unless you have children who are clamouring at the top of their voices. Otherwise, wait till it shows up at the dollar theatres.

My 9 year old son was mesmerized by the battles, blasts, and ships. My 11 year old daughter was bored. The story does move along and once you buy into that it is not going to be like the other 6 movies it is entertaining. If my son was not asking to go I could have waited for the rental.

Finally, the story of the clone wars is finally explained in full detail. I will have to say that the character acting, even though it was an animated movie was a good deal better than the acting from the prequel movies. I especially like the way half the story is focused on the clones. To be able to see actual human-like qualities being shown is a must to make them act like real soldiers. I will admit. even though I am a guy, that even Rotta the Huttling was kinda cute, even though he will grow up to be an enormous gastropod like his father Jabba the Hutt. It isn't a perfect Star Wars movie, but I think it is worth seeing.

I saw this film yesterday and, as a 23 year old, I really enjoyed it. I was a huge Star Wars fan when I was younger, and am still entertained by the films. I thought that the movie was a great adventure flick, with great animation and a pretty good story line. I don't really consider it a "7th Star Wars film" but as a side-story, it delivers. I did not know what to expect when I took my daughter to see this movie. I had heard a lot of negative reviews about this movie and am happy to say that it was much better than I had previously heard. I think the movie is extremely well made: great action sequences with unique camera angles, the same sound effects from the live actions movies, and a decent enough story to keep you involved in the plot. The evil droids also offer a lot of comedic banter throughout the movie to help break the tense feeling created by the battle scenes.
In my opinion, the only real downside to this movie was the script could have used some work as well as the voice acting.
Overall, this movie is not great, but is very entertaining.

My 5-year old had fun at the movie and I also enjoyed the film and liked several things about it. I liked that they didn't try to make all of the textures look like real people/robots/ships. I enjoyed the fluidity and movement of the animation as opposed to mixing real and CGI. As far as the story goes, it moved. I liked seeing more of the characters and how they acted in these unseen situations. It was great seeing the Jedis serve as generals and watching the decisions they made. The saber fights were great.
A friend said it best, "If you're a Star Wars purist, you're not going to like it. But if you just like the story, light saber fights, and explosions, you'll enjoy it." I think he hit it on the head.

This is definitely a 5 year old kid level move. It lacks the adventure and excitement of the series. It would have been better as a 30 min cartoon series. Over all my 5 year old enjoyed the movie.

My boys ages 7 and 9 thought it was really great. They loved it! I couldn't wait for it to be over! Great boy movie! Not a Mom movie.

I saw the original (first) Star Wars in its first run in the theatres, and have been a fan of the series ever since. Through DVDs, my young sons (both currently younger than 10) have become fans as well. We enjoyed Clone Wars, although it's clearly targeted towards a younger audience -- there's no hint or reference to the troubled nature of Anakan or other complex aspects of the Star Wars story that can puzzle kids. (That's actually one of the tings I like about the series; it's stimulated many interesting discussions with my children and I about some complex life issues.) Overall, highly recommended (particularly compared to other options for family fare [Alvin and the Chipmunks, anyone?].

My seven year old grandsons loved the action and the animation. I was miserable for the entire show and I am a great fan of Star Wars. It is very loud, not much story. And oddly enough the theater is downtown Chicago was practically empty. Send your kids alone!!!!!!

My 10 year old Star Wars buff absolutely loved it. His daddy, sister and I all enjoyed it, too. It was definitely not the original series, but it was a good family movie.
