This should have been a TV movie on the Cartoon Network. Thank goodness I paid matinee price. It was like watching a video game for 90 minutes. And the animation was terrible. Skip this one and wait for video.

If you love computer animation, this film's a treat for the eyes. The story line is a tad slow, but the images pretty much stay true to George Lucas' vision for the Clone Wars. I can sum it up with my 6-yr-old son's question at the end of the movie... "Is that it? That didn't seem like enough?" Not that the movie wasn't long enough, but compared to the other live-action films it wasn't EPIC enough. It's a slice of a story from the same time & universe, so it feels very familiar, but it's just a side mission. Entertaining, very good looking (the animations are great, backgrounds are beautiful and camera angles are true to the film style of the other movies), and reasonably satisfying.

I took my kids to see this movie and it was great! The animation was superior, the CG characters were "spot-on" and the dialogue/humor was well timed and well placed! This movie made me appreciate the OT even more. I hate to say it, but I miss the sarcastic wit of Han Solo which is brought back by the CGI characters in this story. Too bad GL couldn't get this kind of performance from the "real" actors playing the lead roles in TPM, AOC, and ROS. Where the Prequels are a swing and a miss, this cartoon really hits a home run. Only other is that it is a cartoon.

Even as a Star Wars fan, I can't say enough bad things about this movie. I only gave it 1 star because that was the lowest rating available. It is truly the worst movie I have seen in 20 years, and makes movies like Shark Tale seem highbrow by comparison. The dialogue is disjointed, the plot weak, and the animation is probably the worst I have seen.
The animated TV series from a few years back is much better in every way. By comparison, the marionette-based animation used in the 1960's series "The Thunderbirds" was better than this stinker...yes, it's that bad.

I just thought the 3 prequels were bad!! The Houston theater was empty, except for my 2 grandchildren and me. The voice acting was dull and flat, the animation poor and stiff. Asoka looked anorexic with stick arms and legs. There was absolutely no character development. Skywalker was angry during the entire movie. The battle scenes were the only part my grandson liked. My kids thoroughly enjoyed it!!! It had a good beginning!! It turned out to be a classic rescue mission with the Star Wars flair.

I am a huge Star Wars fan, so I was really excited about this movie. I don't think it lives up to the other Star Wars movies. It's a good start for the TV show though. However, I will buy the dvd.

This movie had a good line to it and the animation was everything that it was advertised to be. Having read some of the clone war books this fit's in well with the story, but now there is a need to be another movie to fill the gaps. It left my kids with more questions that answers. That being said it was fun to watch, and that was important..
