I personally liked this movie. It is not up to par with the other star wars films but everybody needs to understand that it was originally made to be a television show on cartoon network. This is just a launch for the show. It is definitely more of a kids movie but i don't see the problem with that. Take your kids to go see it. I feel the movie was good for what it was. I hope George Lucas will someday return to a live action film but for now i'm happy with this new perspective on the Star Wars universe. I would recommend people see it but only if you have an open mind and are still in touch with your inner child. If not, then this movie is probably not for you.

This movie is packed full of great battles and light-saber duels. The plot has a few twists and turns along the way and there is enough cuteness & wittiness to keep the average viewer's attention. On the negative side: This pilot for the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series was definitely aimed towards a younger generation…obvious in the dialog...characters often will state the obvious and there are a few one-liners that should not have made the cut. I was hoping to see some of Durge or General Grevious but this never happened. The CGI was unable to capture the body language and facial expressions well so the movie lacked in realism and emotion...making characters seemed less human.

It was good from an animation aspect, but too much comic relief made it difficult to watch. The comic relief was not as subtle as in the actual movies, and a little too over the top cheesy for the saga. It has the feel of a movie geared toward a younger audience. Star Wars fans should still see it just to experience the story line, and the space battles are very cool. Don't forget to chack out Obi-Wan's oak beard and moustache!

Much of the time I felt I was watching someone play a video game- due to the constant fighting and the CG nature of the characters. Anakin and Ahsoka's constant arguing- always at the moment when they are cheating death for the 57th time- gets old.

This movie was very different from anything else that I have ever seen George Lucas put his name on. It is watchable and I enjoyed the film. The film is fully CG and not so much a cartoon. It is definately a pioneer in this kind of film.

AH yes the saga continues. It seems a bit of a mix as so much of the latest movies were CGI, the new deal has a lot of the movie looking like familiar worlds. The opening midnight show had fans dressed in costumes. They seemed pleased. The theater was full but no lines around the block. Zero Hut was a new character that was much better comic relief than Jar Jar. Yes it is not high art. Yes the creator is getting richer but it is entertainment! I would give it 3.5 stars as entertainment for the believers. That is who the target audience appears to be. More stories to come.

This movie is of course the first "episode" in the upcoming Star Wars animated telivision show. It is intended primarily for the younger audiance and it did the job masterfully. From an adult pov there were several funny parts reminding you back to the original trilogy when Star Wars wasnt all serious business. This is a great movie to take the family to and a great way for Star Wars nerds like myself to get the entire family involved in it.

My souse and I are Star Wars fans and went to the midnight showing of this movie. We think it was great. It does seem to be geared to a younger audiance and had a couple repeditive jokes but we enjoyed the lighthearted plot and the voices for the jedi were spot on even though they were (for the most part) not done by the original cast. I can't wait to share this movie with my kids and starting a new generation of Star Wars fans

I went to a midnight showing of the Clones Wars here in San Diego. I really liked it, but it is not to the same par as the movies. I would go see it just to see it on the big screen, but it just reminds me of theCartoon Network series. (which still is better). I love Star Wars, just feel like they last something making this movie.

I did enjoy this movie, I was really disappointed with the bad sound, I was experiencing! The theater's sound system needed repair. They gave back my money and even offered vouchers to comeback again.
The movie's opening theme music arrangement of the classic Star Wars theme seemed a bit strange, kind of generic. It didn't have the grand sound, I was used to. I did like the music through out the film, again at the end of the film, I was put off by the weird, generic version of the Star Wars music I am used to hearing. Of course, I am going to have to get back and see it when the sound system is running properly.

It was great action wise. Typical LucasArts and their superior battle scenes, but it is STILL missing your basic story elements that makes regular dramas. I would have loved to seen more about the clones and what they think about the whole thing. Another 1\2 hour of back story and dialogue would move this movie from good to great.

All in all, a good start to the new cartoon. Didn't have enough of the Star Wars music themes for me. Missed the regular opening crawl but found the replacement "crawl" still interesting. Enjoyed the new padawan, Ahsoka, who certainly brought an enjoyable and lighter attitude to basically a 90 minute war movie. Yoda and Mace Windu should have been used a bit more but I'm sure they will in the series.

I agree with some of the posted reviews... typical Star Wars dialogue. I didnt like the Hutt baby, maybe too young, too corny. I was disappointed that there was no scrolling text at the beginning, like typical Star Wars movies, but I guess in an attempt to appeal to a younger audience, the narration was better, but why not both?!? Good story line, not as good as the live action movies, but enjoyable, and good action.
But as an graphic artist, I thought the new technique for the artwork was stunning. At points I found myself lost in the visualness, and drifting away from the story. But alas I will see it again, and have recommended it to all my coworkers.

Movie, was very good, The CGI was a little weird to begin with , seemed very stiff and at one point the dialog wasn't synced with the characters. The story was great, a lot of action. Can't wait for the TV series to start. Also, the book is a must read, it really brings the story to life.

I have a picture in my head of George Lucas sitting in a posh office with a bunch of fat, wealthy execs saying "Hey look, these idiots will spend their money on anything we cram down their throats.... Bwahahaha" *Smiling & sipping champagne".
Avoid this movie.
Clone Wars was absolutely horrid. This film didn't even feel like part of the Star Wars universe & they clearly still have no idea who their demographic is. It felt like watching Hannah Montana meets Elton John the Hutt meets some sort of whacky after-school special... but in SPACE. Thanks marketing!
I feel stupid for having watched it. Even the eight-year-old kid sitting behind me was like "Uh ... seriously?".
I'm done with Star Wars... it's been fun... but it's over.

Me and my wife saw the movie today in Houston TX. We are hardcore starwars fans but we truly didn't like the movie. We feel that it really didn't provide relevant information for the whole saga, and most important there was no action scene to got us out of our socks. We were expecting blasting scenes due to the digital animation approach. We enjoyed better the Carton Netwoork series. We really felt that the force got beminish in this movie...

this movie is a kick off to a tv cartoon series, and it feels like it. the story plays to children, the plot moved a little too fast, and the CGI is not of movie quality.
that being said, it was great. i laughed a lot at the corny lines the battle droids delivered, and the baby hutt. the fight sequences were excellent. i can't wait to see the show! I think that people shouldn't miss the opportunity to see this on the big screen, just don't go into it expecting it to be like the live action movies. this is very much its own vehicle.

I wasn't expecting much considering all the criticism I had heard earlier, but I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. Don't get me wrong, its no work of art or great cinematic adventure, but I was entertained, and that's always whats most important to me. I haven't been one of the super critics of the new Star Wars trilogy, I'm more willing to accept a few things for the sake of the story, so my expectations are low.
This is clearly a movie for kids. It's punny, and has some attempts at teaching a "lesson." If I had young kids who love Star Wars as much as I do (and lets be real, when I have kids, they will), I would definitely take them to see this.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Well, it wasn't all that and a bag of chips. It was pretty darn good and action packed for sure.
I'd say the animation is very different from what I expected even though I've been bombarded with media from the film prior to seeing it. I guess I was thinking it might be more along the lines of Appleseed or one of the Final Fantasy movies.
The story is pretty interesting. There are the usual Star Wars dialogue moments that make one cringe at the corniness. The battle scenes are pretty slick as are the lightsaber duels.
Overall, though, I'd say if you are even just half the Star Wars nerd I am, you should check it out on the big screen.

Being an avid Star Wars fan, it's very hard not to enjoy any Star Wars - well, anything. However, it took a pretty open mind. With the opening crawl missing and replaced with a newsreporter's voice explaining the current condition of the galaxy (in 1940's wartime news-reel style) I was weary of what would follow.
It was, however, extremely creative, and I eventually enjoyed the fact that it was not a traditional film. Although this film could have been condensed to a pop-up book and called "Anikin Gets a Padawan", it did well setting the stage for the upcoming tv series and opened a lot of possibilities for filing in the blanks for Star Wars fans between films.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The bridge between episodes 2 and 3, this stunning CGI extravaganza is a must for the die hard Star Wars fan, but may leave other adult viewers a bit flat. In the true serial tradition there was very little resolution, but rather a running story line.
The new padowan is akin to a seventies cartoon sidekick, and Jabba's son is more like Scrappy Doo, or the unicorn from that Dungeons and Dragons cartoon in the early eighties.
Negativity aside however, the graphics are awesome, the action is plentiful and Yoda rocks the house. Jabba's nephew is hilarious with his New Orleans flamboyant style and southern drawl. All and all a fun ride.

This movie "is what it is." Kind of like Indy 4. If you are expecting very great things then you will be disapointed but if you are just going to be entertained and like Star Wars then you should enjoy the movie. The battle scenes with the Clones and Separatist forces are well done. This is a good movie for the kids. Is it designed to sell more toys? Probably but are not most new action/super hero type movies of today. If you like Star Wars, without overthinking Star Wars--(this is not the Star Wars of the History Channel Special) and have a free hour and a half to kill and just want to be entertained and see the Clone Army in action then you should enjoy.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
