I took my 4 year old to see this movie she had a great time. At the end it teaches the children not to be afraid of the unknown. It was almost 2 hoirs long but definitely enjoyed it.

First off, I thought the use of Butt Plugs, and Pen!s jokes were not appropriate for a kids movie.
Now. Kids anticipated this movie. Were excited to go. Loved the trailers. We go to movies alot. Probably 2+ per month. They were bored with the movie about half way through. Finally when things started to pick up towards the end did they show interest again.
Theater was maybe 1/3 full on a mid-Sunday the weekend of the release.

I took my 5 yr old daughter and 7 of her friends to see this movie and they all sat through it! Anything that can hold the attention of eight 5yr olds is definately a must see in my book. It was a bit slow in the middle. But the rest of the movie made up for it. I thought it was cute and worth the $5 a ticket.

Probably the worst animated movie of the year so far. I went when there was a theater full of kids and hardly any laughs were heard- what does that tell you? The kids liked it OK, but were hard pressed to talk about their favoriate parts... seems forgettable. Many 'nods' to classic sci-fi movies, but boring for parents otherwise. I had tempered expectations, but even those were not met.

I thought the idea of the movie was great, but there was a LOT of unnessary violence in it. The scene with the Professor taking a saw to Chuck's head in order to remove his brain made me cringe for my kids. And I also was apalled to hear the word "fricken" used, loudly & clearly. Most of the movie was really cute -I just don't see the need for the excessive amount of "blowing things up".

We enjoyed the movie. it was entertaining and all the kids in the crowd (younger kids) seemed to enjoy it. it wasnt as good as the movie we saw where the old man and little boy scout floated the house to some far away place..cant recall the name...but we expected the movie to be like that one, and it wasnt. This is a movie that will work for the entire family. Nothing frightening for the really young ones. Enough action to keep those a little older interested. Enough humor that will go over the kid's heads to keep us adults laughing too. And one really great adult line. Those old enough to remember Dwayne Johnson from his WWE days as the rock might have a hard time recognizing his voice.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

There were moments of funny and cute, but overall the kids were kind of bored and not totally captivated! Not one of the better holiday movies I'm afraid!
