i gotta say i really enjoyed this flick- the animation was top notch and it really grabbed me from the start- i really enjoyed the actors in this movie- the voices really fit each character- there was silly childish humor along with a lot of adult humor surprisingly enough- i thought the star wars references were on point- but best of all i wasnt bored- i saw UP earlier this year and yes it was a very well made movie but there were just times were i was a little bored- im not knocking disney in any way- there artistic approach to animation is on a level of its own- but when i watch animated movies i want to be entertained- and this movie sure fit the bill- so go see it- you love it

This was my 2 1/2 yr olds first movie in the theater. She actually was dying to see Princess and the Frog but it wasn't out yet. With the freezing weather - a movie was perfect on our day off. This being the only childrens movie in the theater - except that Fox movie (and that looks bizarre) we went to see Planet 51 with low expectations.
I was proven wrong. This movie was funny, entertaining and had a good overall message. My 2 yr old was entertained throughout the entire movie. She wasn't scared, or bored. I wasn't bored and I was laughing throughout half the movie. Go see it with your kids, highly recommend.

Took my 11 and 14 year old to see it. The best thing in the movie was Rover. It had a lot of social undertones, but they didn't come through that well. It was kind of corny in a lot of places. It defnitely wasn't "UP". You can save your money and see it on DVD or Bluray

The concept of this movie was very cute. Could not wait to bring my daughter and her friends to see if for my daughter's ninth birthday. They thought it was ok, and really liked "Rover." Poor movie. We went as a family of 3 generations to celebrate Thanksgiving and none of us liked it. Several of us even slept through part of it. Poor animation and boring story line. Characters were not really likeable, except for a strange dog. I would recommend saving your money.

I took my 8 year old and 4 year old to see it and they watched, but outside of a couple spots never really laughed or seemed too excited about it. It moved kind of slow, and outside of Rover, none of the characters were especially likable. I thought the script and production weren't anywhere close to the popular productions in this genre. Really bland and uninteresting. The comment about the astronaut's "antenna" when he stands up naked got a laugh from the ladies behind me, but my daughters were thankfully lost on it. The other bathroom humor was a lame attempt to engage the young audience in recess humor. The story idea was fantastic, but it seems like after they sold the idea the follow-through fell through.

My kids enjoyed this movie, but I am not sure they understood it all however. The family values from the 50's idea was a nice touch but was that for the adults? Some of today's parents won't even remember the 50's. I thought it was ok but not sure it has legs.

Took my 4 and 7y/o grand kids to see. The 4 y/o slept through the entre movie and my 7 y/o grandson did not like the movie. He said nothig to him was funny . I think the 50's theme was a little over his head. I personally thought it was just okay.

The movie was well-done, but the characters were really flat and one-dimensional and the plot was predictable. I think that the kids will enjoy it and there is a lot of action to keep them preoccupied, but, the movie really drags for the adults in the adults. Not Pixar's finest, but bearable.

I saw Planet 51 with my 3 year old son and we both thought it was excellent! It was just the right length to keep my 3 year old's attention and contained interesting and funny characters! There was no bad language to mention or adult humor. Excellent movie! We will probably buy this one on DVD!

My 7 and 4 year old loved it, however, some of the humor and references they did not get and only laughed because Mom and Dad laughed. Good movie for theater, the real test will be when we buy it for home and if they ask to watch it 1000 times as they have with "cars" and other simular to t hat.
