Last night my husband son his girlfriend and myself saw "My Bloody Valentine" in 3-D. We were all so disappointed in the movie. From the very beginning to the end it was a joke of a so-called movie. I can nowsay this movie is by far the worst one we have ever seen. I will not recommend it to anyone. We felt ripped off!!!

There really is two different items to review. The movie was great, had great actors. Took me back to the original. What most impressed me though was the digital 3D I saw it in. This was what you had always hoped 3D would be but never thought it could be. Amazing! I wish every movie could be in 3D. One of the most amazing experiences of my life.

I went just to see the special effects in 3-D. It wasn't worth the money I paid even though it had Jensen Ackles in it.(I'm an avid fan of Supernatural) What a waste. The plot was dull, the special effects were bad, and aside from Jensen the acting was atrocious. Don't bother paying to see it at all. Not even to rent it on DVD!

This movie is a very average slasher film. Kinda predictable, gory, and slightly pointless. BUT the fact that the ENTIRE movie is in 3D makes it good enough to see. The 3D is very well done and makes the movie scarier. The film IS scary but not THAT scary! Especially to someone who has seen a LOT of horror movies. It makes you jump and squirm in your seat but doesnt make you sweat. And the fear you feel during the movie doesnt stick with you afterwards such as "The Strangers". Overall if you like horror movies you should see it, but ONLY if you see it in 3D. Otherwise wait for the DVD.

The 3D effects were cool, but it's not nearly as effective as when you see a movie in IMAX 3D. This is mainly because you can see the edge of the frame, so it sort of ruins some of the more "in your face" effects. I would suggest sitting as close to the screen as possible.
The movie itself was very cliche is all ways imaginable. If not for the 3D it would be almost unwatchable. In my opinion though, the 3D doesn't make up for poor quality of the acting, plot, pacing, etc.
Skip it... but I guess you can't wait for DVD or BluRay, since there would be no point in seeing it without the 3D. Eh.

3D is so much better now with the new type glasses. Very well done movie. Much better acting than I expected, decent story, and lots of fun 3D. The audience gasps and laughs tells it all -- a blast!

I went to Barrywoods 24 cinema to see the movie. I have never been there before. The atmosphere was great. We stood in line for a bit and I had a number of popcorn vouchers for customers who were going to see the movie. I handed them all out throughout the line to the customers who were there to see "My Blood Valentine". What is a horror flick without popcorn? Ha, it was a memorable one with all that. The movie had action scenes in which barrels were pointed down your throat, feet were mimicking a stampede, and blood was spewing like a Kansas City Fountain with washing detergent.
I am going back to see it again.

The good stuff: You have to see this in 3D. The angles in the action sequences and the images of the gore in 3D all add an extra jump to things not normally jumpy.
The bad stuff: The acting in this film was woeful, dreadful, rancid, putrid (I could go on and on). In slight defense of the actors involved, it was an equally rancid script of contrite and forced dialouge.
The worst: The ending completely abandoned the potential of the subtle plot points and settled for a "twist" that came out of nowhere and led to a montage of images that directly contradicted at least one previously stated plot point. I'm being intentionally vague here, in case the pros outweigh the cons here.

This movie would not have been as near as effective if it wasn't in 3D. I was stressed out the entire movie over what would happen next, so it did what it was supposed to do. It was very graphic. The effects were awesome. There were people who brought their children to the movie, who were under 10. I do not recommend that AT ALL. There is full frontal nudity and a lot of blood and gore.

While MBV3D had all the elements of a standard 80's slasher (foul language, nudity, over-the-top violence and gore) it had none of the magic. No one in this film has any fun, including the killer...and by extension no one in the audience has any fun either. The biggest flaw of the film, however, is its gimmick--3D. I counted only 3 scenes where objects flew towards the crowd and they all cut away before I had a chance to jump or feel like I was a part of the action. I wanted to enjoy this film, and the original is hardly something to defend against a remake, but I found myself checking my watch and making a mental grocery list at the halfway mark of MBV3D.

I was hooked into taking my son to see this with some friends and was NOT looking forward to another cheezy "slasher" flick. I have to say that I was drawn in and actually found some campiness if not comedy in the movie--as well as a certain amount of thriller value. Definitely suprised myself by how much I actually enjoyed it. The other grown up in the group felt the same way.

The 3D is very good. Far from the days of blue and red glasses.
Storyline: Expect a typical brainless slasher film where you are screaming at the screen "Why are you doing that?" and you are cheering for the killer to get the victims because they are so stupid. There are many unintentionally funny moments where our audience burst out laughing.
Stupid storyline, lots of "mining pick in the eye/head/chest/face" moments, lots of characters doing stupid stuff, bad lines. The only reason I'm not giving it a 1 is because this IS a slasher film and you dont go to a slasher film expecting quality story.

This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat guessing who's the murderer? The 3D adds even more thrill to this great movie when you see a pick axe coming right for your face! I'd recommend this to anyone over the correct age limit because there is a lot of gore and some strong nudity/sexual refference

My Bloody Valentine 3D is a stereotypical 1980s horror specifically designed for the 3D effects. The acting is extremely poor which doesn't help a very poorly written script. You feel more like you're on an hour+ long ride at Universal Studios than in a movie. Definitely not worth your money. Wait until it's in the $5 bin at your local electronics store.

You can only see this movie in 3D, there is no point otherwise. Plot and acting is bad, but that is to be expected. There are lots of cool 3D effects and good corny gore. The first half of the movie was really entertaining, but an hour and 40 minutes of 3D is hard to handle. Overall recommend the movie. Gotta see it at the theatre!
