I went to this movie not expecting much and was surprised at how well I enjoyed it. I found myself laughing quite a bit and while it isn't going to be winning the best comedy award it is well worth seeing. It's a good laugh.

Lots of laughs and some surprising plot twists kept my family entertained for over an hour. There are a few sequences that dragged on a bit too long but overall the pace was good and the soundtrack was terrific!

If you are looking for any kind of oscar-contending art-house flick (which I suspect was the case of most professional movie critics that panned this movie) then go see something else. On the other hand, if you want a cute, light-hearted comedy to see with the kids (ages 11 and 7 in my case), this movie would be a good choice. Plus, the kids got an extra kick out of the fact that the movie was shot in the Burlington Mall (in Massachusetts), which happened to be right across the street from where we were watching it!

Kevin James performance in this movie was most convincing. The love interest story tension brought on by Jayma Mays- though fairy tale at the end - was accessible as any. The good guy/bad guy twist played by Keir O'Donnell was classic though fresh. I was even digging the story line of the overly aggressive good guy/underhanded bad guy, Stephen Rannazzisi. But the most scene stealing work had to be that darling daughter played by Raini Rodriguez. She was understated yet her heart came through like a punch in the stomach. She has 'Actress' written all over her. Good call Adam Sandler!

We went to see this for some slapstick fun and instead we are inundated by cruel sketches about fat people and indoctrination about how bad it is to be fat!?!?! I've been fat and I've been thin, and neither one is better than the other, except for how ignorant people treat you.

This is the first movie that I've seen in a long time that was funny without being crude. My children ages 5-17 all enjoyed it. No it wasn't the funniest movie ever but it made us laugh. Like most movies today, we could guess the outcome, but it still deserves a good chuckle. The "violence" was typical without being scary for a 5 year old. It was fun actually the way the bad guys skated and jumped around like a circus show.

The trailer seemed to tell a story that would be more funny. I expected a comedy where I could do some serious laughing, but was disappointed. The seens were there was violence led me to believe that this should have been the next higher rating
