Time for Americans to pull their heads out of the sand and understand why excessive government spending must be cut. This movie delivers some very disturbing economic news in a way that can be understood by most. I did feel that the movie was thrown together, however. Also, viewers must realize this picture was produced before the current meltdown. It failed to address this issue on a global scale other to say what countries held US notes. All in all it was a real education for those who are in the dark about how serious this problem is and how important it is for our leaders to stop doing what's popular and start doing what's right.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

While the content is overwhelming, it is very important for Americans to know and begin to understand the truth. We can not continue to be an ignorant and blind society. This movie showed clearly how much we do not know about finances and how our government is running. As a baby boomer, I do not want to work a job until I am 70 years old and I do not want to be a greeter at Walmart. Financial education is the first step to financial freedom.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This is a straight ahead indictment of fiscal "policy" of Congress and the President, as well as monetary policy of the Federal reserve, and breaks it down into simple easy to understand parts. We have a total lack of leadership that is heading our country into financial oblivion.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This documentary is an eye opener for every American. In a world where we want instant gratification, it's costing us our future. We need to educate ourselves about saving and planning for the future. We need to stop living on debt and save and invest so that we don't have to depend on someone or something else for our livelyhood. This documentary should be seen by everyone, young and old. It's time we reverse this terrible trend of spending what we don't have. The time is now to begin this change of attitude, mind, and change of heart.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

IOUSA cites important problems but forgets to notice them: 1. Over half of revenues are from personal income tax, with a much smaller percentage from corporate taxes. Rich people get tax breaks, and corporations avoid taxes by off-shore mailboxes. 2. Social Security and Medicare are major loan sources to support deficit federal spending. 3. Unbalanced trade ignores domestic industry's decay and corporate outsourcing. Rebuild domestic industry, alternative energy and infrastructure. 4 Floating currency and unstable exchange rates are hyperinflationary. Set fixed currency exchange rates in collaboration with Russia, India, China. 5. Bailouts are hyperinflationary; protect banks and homeowners by federal bankruptcy proceedings.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A movie every person should watch. The issue of debt, whether personal or governmental is a huge issue we need to focus on. That none of the politicians will touch this issue is an embarassment.
Also, the sense of entitlement that is so pervasive in our socirty is self destructive.
This is an apolitical movie with an excellent message.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The movie was interesting and had good content, with many good points. I was quite disappointed that "saving" was mentioned frequently, but no reference to gold or silver was mentioned even once. In my view, sound investment is crucial at this time and precious metals possess the credentials to substantiate their merit... (IN SOLID, PERSONALLY OWNED FORM) What good does saving do a person, if they get 4% interest while real inflation is roaring at about 13%. Be Prepared!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Good movie. Intended as an intro for people not aware of the financial problems facing the US. Not much new info for those who have awakened to reality of US insolvency.
Movie needs to shed light on:
1. The role of the Federal Reserve in creating this situation.
2. The role of fiat currency in creating this situation.
3. Solutions to this problem (i.e. sound money (silver gold backed money)
4. What the US will look like in 20 years if we don't change course. (think Argentina or Germany in the 20s.
The movie partly blames Americans for spending too much and not saving, but this is the logical behavior to money that is lent cheaper than inflation.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
