They did an amazing job with this moving. I like the fact that they didn't over do the special effects - for the most part very realistic - doesn't leave you thinking "no way that could never happen". And the acting Health Ledger - awesome and I know he's getting all the acolades but Christian Bale is by far the best Batman - he should get a best actor nod on this one. Great movie, especially in iMax. I will be seeing this again in iMax.....don't miss this one.

Excellent. Great Pacing, Action-filled, not predictable in any way. Could have been called The Joker, as the character and Heath Ledger's performance are what really pushed the movie above being just another good comic book movie into something phenomenal.

What an amazing movie. It was all that I expected and more! The action, mood and settings were great espeically with the IMAX feature. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It might be a little dark and violent for very young children but overall a great movie! Can't wait to buy it on DVD.

Living up to all its hype, which a film rarely does, is just one of the things that sits The Dark Knight apart. The acting, script depth, and over all dark energy of the film puts it above all "comic book" movies to-date.
I wish i could say Heath Ledger's "Joker" was the star of the show, but as it is...only the Joker is the star of the show. Not once can you say...there's Ledger! Heath does not exist in this role. An Oscar is worthy.
While the film may not be perfect with and may contain plot holes, they are small and insignificant to the power this movie envelops the viewer.

Okay, everyone's already said what a great film this is, so I won't repeat all of that. What I can offer is, if you're going to see this in IMAX, get seats as far from the screen as possible. It's visually stunning, but the size is overwhelming if you're sitting too close, and it makes it difficult to get immersed in the film. So see it in standard projection, or sit in the back of the IMAX theater.

Ok...of course we all know that the movie rocked. Heath Ledger's performance was so good that I forgot Christian Bale was playing Batman! I saw this in IMAX and even though there were only a few scenes filmed for it...I was glad I saw it on the big big screen...seeing the Joker larger than life was worth it! So...now to the only not good thing about the movie...they brought the level of violence to the point that I didn't think it was appropriate to bring children to see the movie. They pushed it so far but didn't follow through...if you're going to throw your villain off a cliff...just go ahead and let us see him splatter on the ground! So DC listen up! If you're gonna kill someone...kill em dead dead dead! ...then dig the body up and kill it again.

Lets see, where to start...how about with making a pencil disappear... That scene alone replayed in my mind for 3 days following the movie. Seriously though, this Batman was excellent. I attempted to watch the very first one (circa 1989) the day after, and I could barely tolerate it... Heath has proven himself to be the official Joker... The movie had fabulous character development that served as perfect dinner conversation and the action sequences didn't disappoint...Initially, I was skeptical about a 2.5 hour movie, but in the end it lived up to all the hype.

Fantastic film which must be seen in an Imax theater to fully appreciate. My two teen age children enjoyed it as well. Could have been about 20 minutes shorter but the story of the Dark Knight is riveting and leaves you wanting to know more-looking forward to the next film.

The film was an extraordinary achievement in the BATMAN franchise. No origin story arcs needed! THE DARK KNIGHT was simply stylistic as a superhero film that wasn't. It's a movie about the criminal underground and their motives for keeping society at bay through fear and intimidation. To go up against them, one must almost become them? A fantastic analysis of this very notion and executed with perfection.
Heath Ledger makes you forget there was ever another JOKER on film, and should this arch villain return to the series God help the actor who will have to fill the shoes of this gifted actor who was taken from us before his time. This film works on so many levels. It's a comic book film, a mob film, a crime thriller, a drama - it resonates with passion and all things which make the movie-going experience so exciting and magical.
The score by Hans Zimmer is one of the best in as many years as I can remember. Chris Nolan is a filmmaker who does so much with so little of today's overused CGI, and dare I say that the spectacle is as good as, if not better than, any blockbuster on the summer slate fighting for the dollar of patrons in a weakened economy.
Long live THE DARK KNIGHT!

I am not a particular fan of the Batman franchise, but I was pleasantly surprised with "The Dark Knight." I saw it at an IMAX theater, and it was by far the best of the Batman movies. Heath Ledger was truly amazing. I found myself talking about the movie for days after seeing it. While Batman is a dark movie, the director was able to show truly menacing behavior without the use of profanity. Amazing in today's age where anything goes.

I know, i know. A lot of folks think that this movie is getting the buzz due to the unfortunate and untimely death of a young actor, rather than on the merit of the film. That may be true, but buzz or no buzz, this is certainly one of the best movies I have ever seen, and has easy claimed the title of best comic adaptation in my book. This movie, along with Batman Begins, put the previous films to utter shame. Really. Also, I can't stress enough the importance of seeing this on the big screen. I don't care how great your home theater is. Go to an IMAX if you can. For once, Hollywood really has given you a reason to pay the absurd cost of a movie ticket.

This has been the best super hero movie I have seen to date, and I watch this genre often. Heath Ledger dominates the screen with a strikingly believable villain. I went for the "IMAX" experience to see the movie and was really disappointed. Very few of the scenes were filmed for IMAX and the extra money paid to see it via IMAX compared to a regular screen really wasn't worth it.

The Joker made the movie. Other than that its just another batman movie. I watched this at IMAX and was disappointed with the front row view. Shouldn't have to pay full price for IMAX when your ten feet from the screen. There’s no way to view the whole screen that close.

Long, dark, and highly mechanical in execution, The Dark Knight suffers from many flaws, ranging from pseudo-intellectualism, overwrought seriousness, sloppy storytelling, and average acting. Yet, almost all of these flaws are made up for by an astonishing performance by Heath Ledger. When he appears, the screen lights up, figuratively, of course, since most of the film is barely (and poorly) lit. His is the only character in the film of substance, and the only character worthy of sustaining an audience's attention as the film drags on and on and on. In Ledger's hands -- and with dialogue that seems too good for the rest of the script, and suggests he might have been responsible for many of his own lines -- the Joker becomes a quasi-supernatural force. He is a man without a past or future who is truly life's court jester, a trickster whose only driving force is to smash the status quo with a superior intellect, a razor sharp sense of humor (both literally and figuratively), and a grim visage that seems drawn directly from our collective unconscious. He is the clown writ large, and he savors every word of his dialogue as his eyes, lips, and tongue dart and flash. In the end, you can't help but like this Joker, side with him, or at least feel comradeship with or sympathy for him. In contrast, Batman is a wooden cut out, a dour, self-absorbed schmuck in titanium hosiery who really needs to get rid of the ridiculous voice.

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I wasn't expecting a whole lot from what I had seen in the trailers, but I was completely blown away. The Dark Night is a definite must see movie.

Huge? Yes. Was Ledger's performance Oscar worthy? Yes. Was this the best Batman? No. Much of what made BATMAN BEGINS so good was not evident in THE DARK KNIGHT. There is virtually no humor. Even Bruce Wayne needs a good laugh now and then. But not this time. The film is beautiful - LOUD - and good for a bucket of popcorn. But there is no balance to the story or the performances. The darkness and Heath Ledger's performance left everyone else in the dust.

I'm not sure what I could add to all of the great things that have been said about "The Dark Knight", except that it truly is an incredible film. See it now, see it in IMAX. I'm going to see it again.

You need to stop reading reviews and go see this movie RIGHT NOW! Heath Ledger put on a stunning performance and Christain Bale was fantastic as always. Stunning movie! Best I have seen yet! The Dark Knight is by far my favorite movie.
