this movie was very good. however they left out some major parts from the book. also ruth and ray had more of a relationship in the book!!!

My husband & I saw the movie. I read the book, he didn't. He liked it , I was very disappointed. It is a mere shadow of the book. Far too much of the book was left out which made parts of it very confusing. The characters of Ruth & Ray were not nearly as developed as they should have been as they were key characters. Had the story been told properly the end would make much more sense. The book is written beautifully but the screen play is truly lacking. Perhaps it would have been better had I not read the book but I don't think so. The best suggestion I can give is to read the book either before or after seeing the movie. Maybe some day someone will make a movie which tells the true story.

It's easy to see from the wide ranging reviews of 'The Lovely Bones' that you will probably have to see it yourself to know whether or not you will like it. Personally, I thought that it was pretty good for the most part. It should be listed as fantasy genre rather than drama though. It would give people a better idea of what to expect, and be less apt to be disappointed. The two sides of the movie, the real, and the afterlife, were both good, but when they overlapped, it got a little too weird, especially near the end. If not for that, it would have been a great movie.

The Idea of the movie is sort of genious! Thats why I chose to see it! The execution is sort of average. Its not a bad movie yet it is a strange movie. It tends to get a bit depressing. There are confusingly odd parts, like susie's heaven... seemed cheesy to me but it twist's into making some sence. throughout this movie, I felt a little disapointed, several parts definately didnt have enough depth!!! The ending was my favorite part, maybe because it was just! or maybe its because the movie seemed like forever.

Good movie, but if you don't read the book you miss some of the finer points of the story. I loved the special effects....Susie's heaven was very cool. The story revolves more around Susie and her dad than the rest of the family. It is a win win situation to read the book and see the movie. You get the details from the book and the rest of the story by watchign the movie. The acting was brillant .You won't be dissapointed. Well worth the money!
