I really enjoyed this movie. Very creepy and kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm a long time X-Files fan and it was awesome to see Mulder and Scully again. David and Gillian have still "got it"! Their chemistry was amazing and it was great that this film took time to let them play that connection by focusing on the Mulder/Scully relationship. Can't wait for X-Files 3 !!!!

I went expecting what I got... A little under two hours of a show I have truly missed on T.V. It wasn't about anything more than seeing the interaction of Scully & Mulder and a few suprising character (Skinner) additions. Remember, CSI would not be anything if not for The X Files... I loved all the little quirky things I missed so much about Fox - the David's Sunflower seeds, the autographed basketball, the connection with the other Special Agent at FBI (Amanda Peet)... Dana's confliction between religion & faith and science & truth... I would go again & tell everyone I know what it was like... A real treat for those of us that just miss the show...

As a huge x-files fan I was anxiously awaiting this movie, maybe my expectations were too high. To me this was more like a CSI than an x-file. Infact there was no x-file at all. I was hoping that they would explore what had happened to Mulder and Scully's son, William. All in all I hope the movie does well so they make another one or restart the series. No matter what it was awesome to see Mulder and Scully together again.

While it was nice to see Mulder and Scully together again, this movie could have easily passed as an X-Files tv episode or a made for tv movie. It was basically about the relationship between the former agents with a side story thrown in. For a major movie feature, I was very disappointed with the story. I can only hope the scene after the credits was a true indication of the pair if someone asks them to put out another X-Files movie like this.

The movie was not what I expected, but not bad at all. It was interesting without the special effects. It made you think and try to figure out what was going on. This is a smart film. Don't go expecting special effects by the tons, explosions, CGI and whatnot because it has none. It's not what one would call a blockbuster summer movie. Instead it's a thinking film, it actually requires the viewers to put the pieces of the puzzle together. The audience has to think and make up their own minds on what they see - whether they believe or are skeptical, about what's right or wrong and whether the main characters are flawed for believing what they believe in or if it's that very belief that pushes them forward, never giving up. Give it a chance, you won't regret it. And STAY THROUGH THE CREDITS - there's a SURPRISE at the end.

This movie was everything I expected it to be and more. But if you haven't been following all the news, spoilers, and excitement online, please be warned! This is not a big summer blockbuster! It is not intended to be! It is a very thoughtful, creepy, thriler with some serious character analysis of Mulder and Scully. It is much more Season 3 or 4 Xfiles than it is like the first movie or the last couple years of the TV show. The movie is about the characters, where they are now and more importantly - WHO they are now. It should not be missed!

I been a fan of X Files from the first episode. So it was pretty cool to see them back on the big screen. The movie has everything that the show had. twisted wrapped story lines that were all connected. Dont expect Grand Special effects thats not what X Files was about back then nor in this movie.. I've been a fan of the show since day one, and I have to say this film was well conceived and executed. I think most people who are complaining about this movie, went into it with some preconceived notion of what it should've or would've been. If anyone was paying attention to where the show left off and was headed in the last 2 years, this was appropriate. Mulder and Scully were forced from everything and everyone they knew (including each other) were losing whatever faith they had in their efforts and humanity, and were faced with more questions than answers, despite having come to the end of their quest. They were simply trying to figure out a way to be people and at the same time, questioning who they were, what they thought they were, who they are now, and how they fit into society amidst knowing and seeing all that they had. They were forced to move on, for better or for worse, with out much closure or the freedom to decide whether or not to. This movie is about faith (theirs in each other, society, religion, our efforts, and instincts) and its value (to them and everyone). It forces one to really think and question their beliefs in life and themselves, and humanity. The show always was primarily intellectual and emotional, for those who really paid attention; despite its grounding in conspiracy and sci-fi/paranormal. This was merely a canvas for Chris Carter to paint his conceptions of humanity on. The few detractors of this film, are those who were expecting to turn off their brains and be visually stimulated, and were sorely disappointed when they realized that was not an option.

I was very disappointed in this picture and have to agree that it did keep jumping around and was hard to follow. I felt it just left too much out and would have been better if the Russians had come out sooner. And how realistic is it having stem cell surgery being done at a Catholic hospital? Were they too busy making political statements to produce a good XFile movie? I think so.. save your money and buy the DVD if you must.

The X-Files draw was that Out there somewhere...was to be found the conflict between other worlds and ours. This film dumped their hopes on a Pedafile Priest who bleeds from the eyes to see what? Hope? Doom for Mankind? Never Reslolved. The movie is so dark and hopeless that even Scully and Mulder are at odds and don't even seem on the same side anymore! A Deus ex Machina ending (God from the Machine) to rescue our hero.

If you watched the X-Files religiously, then you will go and see this movie. If you were a casual fan, you can wait until it comes out on DVD where we can only hope Chris Carter explains why he took this feature film in this direction. It would have made an excellent two-part episode during the series TV run but I was disappointed in it as a major movie event.

Congratulations to Spotnitz and Carter for writing an old-school X-Files thriller in I Want To Believe. This movie provides 2 hours of absolute viewing pleasure to all viewers, even those who know little about the XF franchise.
Go see it. It's worth your time and your money.
