i've read all the books and thought that it was perfect. the actors played their parts extremly well. i would have liked to see the relationship between jacob black and bella a little more, but all in all it was the best movie ever!

You won't be disappointed

I was extremely nervous going into the movie for the 1st time (I've seen it 3 times already, and plan to see it a 4th time today). I can tell anyone reading this, you will NOT be disappointed. They hit on all the major points from the book. Sure, they left out a few details, but we should understand why.

Rob was amazing, he definitely pulled off the suffering that we all know Edward went through. I have to say my favorite character from the movie was Charlie. He added some very much needed comical relief to some scenes.

I've read reviews that mention the "cheesy lines". But if you're a fan of the book, you'll appreciate that they were kept in.

All in all, I'm extremely pleased with how the final version turned out.

I have read the series and thought that this would be the typical book way better than the movie but I was wrong. The movie was in line with the book and it was awesome. I like Bella; Kristen does a wonderful job. I know that Robert is getting all the press but she is great. I saw it with a friend we are both 50 and the other women in the show were in their 40's and 50's. Everyone loved it I was surprised that I didn't see that many younger girls however we saw it opening day at 1:00 in the afternoon. I loved it and can't wait for the next one!!

Excellent movie!!

Edward Cullen is the epitome of sexiness. I had never heard of the books and after seeing the trailer I fell in love with story. The attraction between Bella and Edward was captivating. If it weren't for the countless screaming girls I would have been in a trance. I can't wait to read the books!!!

The movie was just what I expected. It stayed pretty true to the book with a few embellishments, but they added to the excitment. My granddaughters and grandson, who doesn't like kissing, enjoyed the movie too.

I have read...and re-read all of the twilight books..and the movie was outstanding, amazing, etc. It was the BEST movie i have seen in a long time. They got everything in the movie right...a few parts left out that i would have liked to see..but otherwise this movie was fantastic and i'd recommend it to anyone (unless they dont like vampires).

-all the Cullen boys are gorgeous ^^

I had no intentions of enjoying this movie. My daughter and coworkers kept raving about the book series. I thought I would go along just to see what all the fuss was about. Wow! Was I ever surprised. Bella and Edward's relationship is very moving. This was an excellent movie. Now I can't wait to start reading the books.

Loved it! The love story sprang out of the ever-hallowed silver screen and I was thrilled to have been at the midnight showing on the big release day, even if it was in Ohio, at the time! I've been a HUGE fan of the books and wasn't at all disappointed by the movie version... Loved the 'gritty' and 'real' feel of the film - which seemed to match what I had envisioned when first discovering their world. MORE-MORE-MORE!!

If you loved the books...

If you loved the books you will definitely love the movie. It was a great adaptation of the book - Edward and Bella's romance was depicted quite well by the director - I had not expected it and was surprised that they were able to capture the intensity described by the book. I must say, however, that reading the book before seeing the movie added several dimensions to what was seen on the screen and I would imagine that those who have not read the book might be seriously disappointed in the film. I plan to see it again.

Got the girls reading

I took my daughter and a friend neither of whom read the book, both 12, because the book was too big. The forced me to go to Walmart at 11:00 at night to buy the book so they could read it. They stayed up for two hours reading to one another.
I had already read the series and loved it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Twilight: Excellent!

I thought Twilight the movie was an excellent version of the book. The movie did an awesome job of capturing high school kids in a real light. I loved Kristen Stuart's performance, and I think she's definitely being overshadowed by Robert because of his strong fan base. She did an excellent job as Bella. The only thing I was disappointed in- was the makeup job on all the Cullens. I realize they were supposed to be pale, but they almost looked like they were caked in white powder. It didn't look right, and I hope they fix that for New Moon when it is filmed.

I saw the movie twice already and loved it! Obviously for time sake, things from the book were edited but I left each time feeling satisfied. Edward and Bella were perfect. I think that you will enjoy the movie much more if you have read the book. I can't wait for the other movies to come out.

I thought it was overall a VERY well thought out movie!! i recommended it to all of my friends and they all said the same thing. I do wish at times it would have sticked to the book, i was really looking forward to some parts of it but were never put into it. If you have the soundtrack, some of the songs really and truly don't make sense unless you watch the movie but i garuntee that you will love it all the same!

I took my 20 year old daughter to the movie and we both loved it. I would caution movie goers to read the book first because you will miss out on all the subtle nuances that are so important to the story. I can't wait for the next movie in the series.

I just don't get how people who already read the book love this movie so much... I went to see the midnight show on Thursday and it was downright horrific. All the casts actings were so bad that I was embarrassed for them and that over-exaggerating powdered faces with red lips didn't do much except they all looked very clown like. Oh and by the end of the movie, how the heck Kristin Stewart walk so well with cast on her leg? Maybe she became the all powerful vampire already. Anyways people were laughing from start to the end, and completely ruined my visions and imaginations... It failed.

I love the books. I have read them all 3 times. I was so excited to go see the movie, but sadly I wish I would have just stuck with the books. I felt the movie was rushed and chopped up. By the end I felt like Bella and Edward were strangers to eachother. If I had not read the books I wouldn't have understood why they had fallin in love. The movie did a very poor job of showing the development of their relationship, and it cuts alot of scenes that I felt were needed for character development. As a stand alone movie it was fine, but compared to the book it was terrible. I hope they do better on the next one.

Nothing Will Ever Be The Same

I was as excited to see the movie as my 15 year old daughter. It was excellent even though it did keep alot of tidbits out that were in the book . It didn't seem to matter because the attraction between Bella and Edward was so compelling and gripping enough on its own. We also liked the fact that there were bits of humor as well. Perhaps the characters looks weren’t what you thought they should be, but despite that fact every character lived up to the personality that the characters in the books had.Over all the movie was exciting and heart warming at the same time.Twilight is one of those movies that leaves us wanting more and more. In our opinion it was/is the best movie of 08'!

I found the movie well done. There were obvious things removed from the story line but it did not affect the overall story. There was a very tangible emotional connection between Edward and Bella which was played excellently by the actors. Very well done.

Okay people, here's the deal. I saw this movie at the midnight showing with my girlfriend. My girlfriend is a huge Twilight fan. We both hated the movie. The acting was terrible, the love story was a joke, and the story line was all over the place. There were so many parts in the movie that I laughed becuase the movie was so bad. I would never recommend this film to anyone, not even my worst enemy. PLEASE........ do not waste your money!

Where was“Do I dazzle you?”That was one of the best lines.Considering the experience of the cast,overall I think they did a good job.Even they didn't know what to expect.We know it’s not going to be the same as the book.It be a mini-series(Hmm,that's a thought)Some scenes came across a little awkward.We can only go by what we read in the book.That’s why I was a little disappointed.I found it to be rushed and a little too cold.No pun intended.I understand you have to change things for screen adaption but I would have liked to have seen more of the Cullen family involvement.Incorporate their extra powers more.They didn’t seem to have much substance.They were kind of empty.Don’t get me wrong I liked the movie&I’m sure I will see it again.

I took my 14 year old and my 17 year old daughters and they both loved it. Neither has read the books but now are asking for the series. It was a clean, teen love story which rare to find these days. I thought it was very good though a little distracting with all of the girls giggling and yelling when Edward came on screen.

It was Twilight, so of course it was amazing! The movie really captured the chemistry between Edward & Bella. Each character was portrayed very closely to the novel. Although a LOT of story had to be left out (the movie would last days if it was all in there!), it was still understandable. If you haven't read the book, you should still read it!

Although disappointing, not completely unexpected. Horrible acting (especially and mostly on Robert Pattinson's part) Super cheesy effects. Very theater-esque. Left out important things, added stupid unnecessary things. Definitely made the movie so that only someone that read the books would understand that. There are a lot of scenes where those who read the books know exactly what's going on and those who did not, don't. I understand it kind of has to be that way, but at the same time it doesn't even come across as mild to light foreshadowing. Just more bad acting. No one I know thought the movie was even KIND OF good.
