Like they say, the book is better than the movie, but i loved the movie. It stayed pretty close to the book although the movie seemed to go so fast, being that they had to condense and make it shorter. I would have loved for it to be longer.

I have seen this movie 7 times and each time i see it is just as good as the first time. I have also read all the books and I think they did a great job converting the book to movie. The movie definitely captures the essence of first love and the complexity of that relationship. The actors in the movie especially Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart made Edward and Bella come alive for me. Now when I read the books they are the faces I see. I would suggest this movie for all young and older adults.

I was totally into this movie from start to finish... I especially loved the sequence of time where bella n edward were alone in the forest and on the mountain top in the sunlight..... so beautiful their chemistry together.... I look forward to all the following movies based on steph's books... She really added some classics and made the vampire genre a "golden" new evolution .. uplifting.. less darkness.. I read all the books after seeing this wonderful movie.

As with most movies based on books, the book is a lot better than the movie but overall- I liked it because it helped bring the visions from the book to life & I fell in love with Edward & Bella even more! However, there are a lot of scenes/dialogs done differently, spoken differently that bothered me as a viewer. I understand why the director chose to do so but some of the scenes did not do justice to the characters in regards to the book. I still wouldn't have missed watching this movie though! It was definitely an experience. I cannot wait to see what happens with the rest of the movies based on the other books! I just hope they stay true to the scenes & characters in those books...

i was horribly disappionted that the movie and the book were so different. i had to pretend i had never read any of the books to actually enjoy it. once i got past that fact it really was a good movie w/ good acting by most of the actors. the chemistry between edward and bella was really weird and nothing like it was in the book. most of the actors were not like what i had pictured but still did well and played their part to the best of their abilities. i am more disappionted w/ Stephenie Meyer for not making sure the book and the movie were more closely related. even w/ all its flaws, it was still a great movie and i can't wait for the others!

I can not believe this movie is so popular. Personally I went to see it out of curosity and have been horribly disappointed. It was nothing like the book, there were too many cut or grosely modified sceens. At least other book movies make an attempt to stay true to the book, this was just a rushed fiasco. Also with the actors they should NEVER be allowed to act again. I'm disappointed that we're not allowed to give a no star rating on this because it was that bad. And the only thing that I can think of worse is that they're in the process of butchering the other three books in the series.

Who would have thought that a 44-year-old woman would like this? Well, this one did. I would definitely recommend reading the book first because the movie can't and doesn't show all the inner angst, emotion and pain that Edward Goes through. The movie does a great job of following the book with only a couple of minor differences. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were great picks to play Edward and Bella. My only disappointment is that the movie can't go into all the details that the book did. I'm looking forward to seeing "New Moon" when it comes out.

I think that his movie is just great. Of course there are things that are not quite as they are in the books, but that is to be expected, Edward said that Bella was his addiction and these books and this movie are mine and my 21 year old daughter's. I cannot wait for the next movie, just don't know how I'll be able to wait for them all. lol This is an amazing love story! One of the most touching, amazing love stories I've ever read. The actors just enforce the beauty of the books and the love they share! I have actually seen this movie 3 times (only once since I read the books) and would see it again. When it comes out on DVD I will probably watch it over and over again just to be reminded how beautiful this love story is!

Agree with so many others on this website. I saw the movie and then became addicted - mainly to Edward! After I saw the movie I had to go out and read the books. The movie stays true to the book in general but does miss out several things. Nevertheless, I still love the movie in its own right and have seen 3 times so far... Robert Pattinson does a great job of portraying Edward - makes my heart race! The more I watch it, the more I think they did a great job - there are many subtleties to watch out for. Can't wait for the DVD to come out and see all the extras, as well as the next installment, New Moon, to come out in theaters. The soundtrack and score are also fantastic.

As a huge fan of the books I had been eagerly anticipating this movie. The first time I felt it was a bit rushed, but the more times I see it, (#9) the better it gets. There are parts that are could have been better, but overall I felt it captured the essence of the books. The kiss scene alone is worth the price of admission! Rob is a fabulous Edward and I felt he did a fantastic job conveying the huge conflict raging within him. The rest of the cast was also well portrayed although I felt Kristin was not as warm as Bella is in the books. I wish that they had made it a little longer to allow for more character development, especially Alice and Jasper. Can't wait for the DVD and New Moon.

I loved Twilight. I saw it 4 times and still can't wait til it's out on DVD. The acting was kinda...horrible however I think that was more the director's fault because I'v seen Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in other movies that they were much better in. I can't wait for New Moon to come out!

I would have loved the movie if it had not been based on a fabulous book. They changed too many important things for the movie and even left some out.
Casting was downright horrible in my opinion and Kristen Stewart's acting was, in one word, deplorable.
Edward, aka Rob Pattinson though, was hilarious with his overacted facial expressions.
This movie was good overall but did not live up to my expectations.

Common you guys. just really, watch it again. This was the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. It destroys all the common grounds of Vampirism, and it is NOT a horror movie under any circumstance. The book itself, in my opinion, was poorly written. No offense to the author, because her words were good. Its just the story itself that drives me up a wall! How could you not know a vampire was in your neighborhood? Why on earth would Bella fall in love with a blood lusting cannibal? I don't understand. Not only that, but the movie and book had very important moments that were messed up royaly.

I was very leary of a teenage movie...however after seeing the movie i was hooked.....i was so hooked that I went that day and bought the first 2 books finished those in a day...no i did not sleep that night...went the next day and bought the next two and finished those in 2 days. I'am not a big reader however i was hooked! Now I cant wait until part 2 comes out in the movies. I'm going to see it again with my husband tonight.

The movie definitely had it's great moments. Just don't expect it to follow the book closely. Part of the reason I fell in love with the book was the strong waxing and waning of Edward and Bella's relationship. It really dove into the excrutiation he feels while falling in love. Too bad the movie skipped over the tense courtship. Within minutes of meeting they are declaring their love?

This movie is breath taking! i keep wanting to see more,and there soon will be. but this movie is a great movie for teens exspecialy for teen girls. its a love story kinda like ''ROMIO AND JULIET" but it also has those action/thriller scenes too. its a wonderfull movie once u see it ull want to read and watch the whole series!!!!!!! also people keep asking ''can little kids see it''? yes they can it may be a little to much for them in the eclipse and breaking dawn movies but they should enjoy the first two.
