I've only seen it once, and I plan to see it a bunch more times. Some of the special effects were a little cheesy, and it seemed a little rough in places, but look past the few flaws and it's a really good movie, especially when you consider the paltry 37 million they had to make it. Box office returns were so good the first day that Summit announced on the following day that they will be making the next book in the saga, New Moon, into a movie too.

I'd say that overall the movie was pretty good. I wasn't sure how well I liked the casting choice of Edward but ended up liking him better than the actress for Bella. There were a few parts where I felt like the acting was sub-par but overall I felt like the movie was pretty true to the books (and I loved all 4 books).

As a true fan of the books(I love the books more) I absolutely loved Twilight. I thought it was a really good adaptation of the book. It has its flaws but overall amazing. Never listen to the critics because they are there to criticize the movie and they've never read the books. You just have to see it for yourself. I was very pleased with the way it turned out. Robert did a great job as Edward and Kristen did fine as Bella. I loved the baseball scene and the kiss scene. Emmett rocked my socks. I loved it and can't wait for New Moon!

I was thrilled with the main character ... I Fell in love with Edward Cullins, didnt read the books,and I would definitly recommend to see this movie...It was an awesome movie,and it had a great story. Now I have to go and buy the book!!!

This movie was a little slow at first but after a while I could see the scenes from the book. Some of the scenes could have been a little bit more active but for the most part it was all I expected and more. Edward was so beautiful that as all the other girls and women in the theatre screamed to see him so did I. I don't think I have fealt anything so breathtaking in a while. Keep them coming.

I was so stoked to see Twilight since i had read the book which is an incredible piece of work. Sadly to say i think i had my hopes up too high because the movie wasn't what i expected. It wasn't necessarly bad but i felt as if it didnt really meet up to the book. A lot of details were missed and a lot of the things in the movie didn't match up with the book, but overall it was okay but i give credit for them because the actors did a great job and at least they tried to fit all of that in a 2 hour movie. Maybe New Moon will be better.

As others have said...definitely different from the book. But I still enjoyed it! I took a friend who hadn't read the books and she loved the movie too. Guess I'll have to loan her the books. Oh, and guys, take your girl to see this. She'll appreciate the thoughtfulness!!

As many people have stated the books and movies always vary from each other. Take the Harry Potter series for example: if you hadn't read the books previously and went to see the movie you'll find that you're aware you're missing something. I've read all the books and found that this movie was great for those already introduced to the Twilight series, but a little confusing and fast for those who weren't. The casting was great, I was amazed by the Cullens personally. However, I was disappointed by the relationship between Edward and Bella because it seemed more like a lust and a fight than it did a gradual unknowing love story. But I did leave the theater very happy with the movie overall and plan on seeing it again.

I saw the movie opening night and i have to say that it was really bad. The acting wasn't very great. It seemed very corny. I have read all four books and to just see it in the big screen was suppose to be great, but it wasn't. it just didn't flow it seemed like a whole buch of clips put together. there was alot of things small details that bugged me. i was actually really shock when people were like that was the greatest movie ever because really it was one of the worst. i have to say that i really like the way that Cam Gigandet played james was really really good and other then him i thought Billy Burke did a good job as well as for the rest they sucked.

I knew going into the theater not to expect a word for word, detail for detail movie version of the book. I went in saying, "This is not the book. Expect some changes." 20 minutes in, I found myself really enjoying the movie. The actors did a great job capturing their characters but every time Edward touched Bella I waited for him to fall over in agony. Bella always seemed stunned with mouth slightly open, fear somehow appearing on her face even though she claimed to not fear Edward. *Tip - If you've read the book before seeing the movie, go in with an open mind and expect it not to be the book. When reading a book, we all have our own interpretations; this movie was just one persons view. Consider seeing it a second time.

I really liked the movie but I still think the books are better since they can't really put everything in the movie. It seemed really short when it was over. I just hope that this movie makes enough money so they can make New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn into movies.

I personaly thought the movie was amazing. I've read the book a billion times and tho the movie wasn't exactly like the book, the movie was sitll amazing. Rob looked amazing, Kristen looked amazing, the other actors were vamptastic!
I do have to say that when I watched the movie the first time I was kinda disapointed because Bella and edward didn't have that many bella and edward scenes as they were suppose to have. At first i just LIKED it but then i went to go watch it a second time I aboslutly LOVED it!
For people who HAVE read the book I suggest you watch the movie at least 2 or 3 times to fully ENJOY the book, but for those have haven't watched the book well i suppose you'll love it the first time. =]

I really really loved this movie! I did read all the books before seeing this movie, and I still think they did an excellent job at making the movie! I thought that they left out a bunch of small parts, but if they would have added them, it would have been like 5 hours long ( not that that would be a bad thing ;) ) . Overall i am so excited to see the next movies!!!

The actors were spot on. I agree - don't watch it right now unless you want to hear all the screaming girls and their moms everytime Edward comes out. Pattinson did great! I watched a morning show and found that I was able to watch the movie in peace. Looking forward to the next movie!

Twilight is hypnotic and romantic and intoxicating and like the lure of the vampyre, it will draw you back for more..... This is such a well written story and well directed movie-that you just feel yourself in the same trance as Bella. Just let yourself feel. And you will be drawn in.
Twilight has FAR exceeded my expections. I have read the books and, although I am sad some parts were left off, I am realistic enough to know that in order to really show all of Edward and Bella's courtship, this would be a four hour, two night mini series. (I am just hoping that there will be some goodies in the DVD)
Oh yea..and btw, I am the age of Bella's parents, not a starry eyed teen. This movie is multi generational. It is just plain WONDERFUL!

I thought it was really good. Of course, there were parts cut out from the book and it was slightly different. A majority of the movie was exactly how I imagined it in the book. I liked how Steph Meyers had a big part in making the movie. Look for her cameo. I wish they would have shown more of Edward and Bella's relationship. The second movie is going to be great since the company will have a bigger budget. I give it a B+

My expectations were open based on what I had been reading about the movie and the acting exceeded my expectations. I almost wish I hadn't read the books to see how the movie would really come across but since I had ,I knew what was going to happen and my point of view was not as fresh. At least you really didn't have to have read the books to see it was a great movie.

My family and I loved this movie! It is helpful to have read the book first as, of course, some things are different. They did an excellent job of sticking to the original stories main points, though. The crowd of teen and pre teen girls was o.k. except in some scenes, their was giggling, where giggling was not appropriate. That kind of took some of Edwards' more intense scenes away from me, but Robert Pattinson is great! The perfect Edward!!!

Ok well I saw Twilight last night, and to me it was a very good movie. There were some pretty funny parts in the movie as well. I have the book but I have started reading it yet. But my sister on the other hand has read the book and she went with me last night to go see the movie. She said she liked the movie but was disapointed. So that clears it up, if you see a movie before you read a book, you'll enjoy them both. I read Beowulf in school and LOVED the story, when I saw the movie I was extremely pd-off because they made Beowulf look like a pansy. So I knew if I read Twilight first before I saw the movie I would have felt the way my sister felt. Other than that good movie.

I loved the movie even though it was not as good as the book (it had big shoes to fill). Time went by to fast during the movie, before I knew it, it was over. I am going to see it again with my mom. And I CANNOT wait for New Moon!!!

This movie did an excellent job maintaining scenes and memorable lines. I found myself going "thats really in the book" throughout alot of the movie. there were parts that i wish they would have spent more time on and not have been so bundled together. no matter if you read the books or not, you would still understand what was going on. All the characters were there and like they were described. The only thing i didnt like was the mood for edward's and bellas romance, it felt different in the movie than it did for me in the book, and i know that edward was scared to be around bella but his character to me seemed far too timid.I realize that everyone sees it dif. i think that all twilight fans would love it!!!! I know i did!

I would like to start out by saying that the choice of Robert Pattison as Edward Cullen was the best decision Summit Entertainment has ever made. Additionally, I would like to say that the movie was THE best movie I have ever seen in my life because it allowed me to see the book come to life. The differences in the movie are the best ones ever made, Catherine really made the novel come alive and made me want to go back again. I really hope to go watch it this upcoming weekend with my family this time instead of with my friends. I know that after watching it with my friends I helped in crating a few more Twilight fans. Now all I am looking forward to is the release of New Moon in the near future.

Being an avid fan of the books, I have to say I LOVED it! I will admit though, it was better the second time around.
Everyone was so perfectly cast and the chemistry that Kristen & Robert have is amazing.

we all have our different views on what edward should look like. he really starts to grow on you as you watch the movie. i was impressed on how they followed the book. i saw it again after the first night i watched it, i liked it so much. i'm hoping they will continue the sega series into movies and will be very excited to watch them!!!!!
