I thought this was one of the worst movies I have seen in a while. The only people that should see this movie are 10-15 year-old girls that like to talk and act giddy any time the two stars of the movie get near each other. If you don't fall into that category, save your money!

My daughter and I read all the books, and couldn't wait for the movie - we weren't disappointed. The casting was superb and the plot followed the book nicely. While the movie did seem slow in a few spots, we look forward to New Moon.

I would consider this one of the best movie to have ever come out of the 80's with its cheesy acting and it's terrible special effect it definitely tops my list!

A bunch of our middle school students were reading twilight and the other three books. We went to see the movie at midnight and then again later on opening day. The movie was outstanding. The Twilight saga makes you feel like you found your soulmate all over again or if you never have, it gives you hope. It also encouraged our "struggling" readers to read longer books that they usually avoid. Way to go with this movie. Looking forward to the rest of the series in movie form.

I saw twilight 3 days after it came out and was really impressed at how good it was. They put in almost all the important elements from the book. Considering they were working with vampires which are perfect in the book (speed, looks, mind reading) they did a phenomenal job. I loved it!!!!

I would only recommend this movie to people who've read the books. It would seem like there were a lot of holes in it without the book's information. However, I don't think they could've cast more perfect actors in the leading roles...especially Edward.

I was a huge fan of the book series, and I'm 27! For a low-budget book adaptation, I thought this movie turned out very well. While the special effects left much to be desired, the cinematography and editing were excellent. Most of the acting was also incredible with the exception of a few minor supporting cast members. Major kudos to Catherine Hardwicke. I took my skeptical mother (who had no knowledge of the books) to see it while we were away on vacation, and she loved it much to her surprise. We both went in not expecting much and came out not being able to wait for the sequel. I've now seen in 3 times!

the movie was aweful! The actors seemed like they were in pain the whole time! There was no on screen chemistry whatsoever. The girl that played bella sucked! So many things were wrong with this movie it was ridiculous! I read and liked the books too. The movie was a major disappointment.

This movie is one of the best I've seen. I love the story and the actors (Rob Pattinson and Billy Burke) are incredible. The best part for me is the Vampire Baseball scene. The music is integrated with the movie very well and the movie is very engaging.

My rules for a book adaptation: the movie has to tell the same story in the same way using the same characters in the same settings, without adding any junk or leaving out a major piece of the story - and still be just as enjoyable as the book. This movie meets all those, and was well acted. Robert Pattinson perfectly captured the smoldering intensity of Edward, and Kristin Stewart, while not as annoyingly self-absorbed as the book's Bella, was still the distant, non-communicative, secretive teen. Great effects - just enough - and all set up for the next movie. Bravo!

The movie was more interesting than I thought it would be. My daughter has read the book series and had been waiting with baited breath to see it.
I would recommend this movie but keep in mind, it IS a teenage love story after all.

For those of you who are big fans of the books I suggest seeing the movie more than once. The first time I saw it, I spent most of the movie noticing the things they changed from the book. The second time I saw it I was able to just enjoy it for what it is. I hope they do a better job with the special effects next time. The noise the vampires make when they move fast was a little silly but over all I really liked it.

The movie isn't long enough to really tell the story - it would take at least 4 hours! It follows the story (not exactly), but great parts of the book and the romance/tension between Edward/Bella are missing- they're in love within three scenes- so you miss the build of the relationship. But the actors do an amazing job of conveying all that's missing through their expressions that you 'get it'...it just may seem forced and overly dramatic if you haven't read the books! The people, with a few exceptions, and the setting is pretty much dead on. And RPatt is the HOTTEST Vamp since Brad Pitt in 'Interview'...he gives great tortured soul!!! Highly recommend! Everyone should 'know' Twilight!!!!

Im a huge fan of the "Twilight" series, and while I thought the movie was good, I was somewhat disappointed. They left out key parts that needed to be in the movie (blood typing, when they are talking during the night, etc). They could have easily added half an hour of the key stuff they took out and people would have still seen it. If I had not read the book, I feel as though I would have been confused about a lot of things. Its just hard because a lot of the book is Bellas internal monologue, and its hard to make a movie based on that. Overall, it was a good movie, but it could have been a lot better.

It was good except for Emmett's hat....everytime I saw emmett's hat turned sideways i got distracted with how dumb he looked. I even laughed out loud during a serious scene because of that stupid hat.
I'm older than the intended audience but they amount of "teen angst" wasn't too hard to swallow. I don't feel like I wasted money on this movie.

As a 45 year old male I totally do NOT fit the demographic for this movie but I totally LOVED it. Great acting, great special effects. I took my 13 year old son and two of his friends to see it so they could communicate with the girls at school effectively.

I absolutely love this movie. It is really awesome to actually put a face to the name when you read through the books. Although it is never who you pictured in your own mind, I think Robert Pattinson is PERFECT! in this movie. So gorgeous! Everyone else is perfect in their roles as well. I personally wish the movie was like six hours long just so they wouldn't have to cut anything out. There was so much more i wanted to see, that is the only disappointing thing about the movie. It wasn't near long enough. I absolutely cannot wait until New Moon comes out and then Eclipse and then Breaking Dawn. I am super excited about the whole thing!!
