For a vampire flick that's mostly geared to teens it wasn't corny. That seems to happen when translating from a book to screen. And when it's mostly for the teen market.
I loved the whole toying with lust and passion. It was a really good movie. I'd see it again.

I highly recommend for anyone to catch this movie! It was all the best stuff in the book packed into one show. If you are expecting the movie to follow the book closely, you might be slightly disappointed. Overall the movie did a great job of taking a wonderfully written book and bring it to the big screen. GO SEE THIS MOVIE!! Edward (Robert Pattinson) did a fanominal job captivating me and in true vampire fasion...had me under his spell the entire movie.

I am a 37 year old mother that went along with her teens for the midnight premier. I was very impressed with the movie. The teens LOVED it!! Even my 16 year son thoight it was cool. It had a lot of humor which I thought was very light hearted and fun. I am hoping this is not the last of the movies, the ending suggest not. Now I must read all the books! Movie made me a fan!

I've read all four books and the first few chapters of Midnight Sun, and I think overall the movie was very good. The actors were amazing; they portrayed the characters from the book very well. Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattison were hand made for the part. The only thing i didn't like was the way the movie was made. I felt like they were jumping from scene to scene so sporadically and not really explaining what's going on in the current scene you're watching; they expect that you already know. Which, let's face it, most people already know what's going on and why because they've read the books; but what about for those who haven't read it?
But, with that aside, again the movie was very good and I will definitely be seeing it again. :)

At long last...i got to see my darling Edward on the big screen. I'm a 36 year old that is in LOVE with everything Twilight, including the movie. Sure....lots of things where changed, some of the people or places weren't what I'd imagined....but then there was Edward. (Sigh). Robert Pattinson was ALWAYS my pic & image of Edward - even before he was cast. He did a wonderful job of bringing Edward to life. I will cherish this movie - as I cherish the books. Can't wait to see what's next....Stephanie - PLEASE finish Midnight Sun....i want to know more & more about my favorite Vampire!!
Go see the movie... it's not "just like the book"....but that Edward hypnotizes you!

The movie was really good! Although there are points that don't follow along directly with the book, they did a great job fitting all the key elements into a 2 hour movie. I can't wait for the next book to make it to the big screen!

Oh My God... It was just as good as hyped. Fans of the book wont be disappointed by the content of the movie and the trueness to the book. Bella and Edward's chemistry is evident from the first moment on screen together. The Nomad vampires are shown in bits throughout the movie but the ballroom fight is electrifying. A few of the important and touching moments of the book were not included in the movie but it still gave you the emotion and spark that exists between them. I wish they would have focused a little bit more on the struggle Edward was going through to keep from hurting Bella. Far from disappointing 5 stars a MUST SEE!!!!

Really, I don't know what I expected. All I know is that this movie was not long enough. It was very fast paced. Things that took chapters to get to in the book, sped by in the movie. That would probably be my only critisism. The actors and actresses really played the characters well, very impressed!! I can not wait for New Moon!!!

I think that they did an excellent job! I was really worried that they would butcher it, but they didn't. They hit all the key points, and I loved all the Cullens. The high school kids did a great job, too. There are definitely things that only people that read Twilight will get, but even those who haven't will love this movie. My husband and I are both 28, he hasn't read the book, and even he really liked it! There were parts that were soo funny, and the chemistry between Edward and Bella was fantastic! Go see this movie!

The movie itself was great, but the movie did not show just how difficult the "chase" of james/bella was on everyone, how difficult it was for bella to get away from alice/jasper. The movie did not show the extreme bond bell/edward had even in the book. I came up with a way to explain to my co-works(who just started to read the books, or others just wanting to watch the movie) why they need to read Twilight first. The book/movie of Twilight reminds me of Biology class, your teacher has you read a chapter in the textbook then shows you a movie of the same material, but to completely understand the movie you need to have read the book. Twilight is like that, to completely enjoy, connect, and understand you MUST read the book!

I loved the movie, but without all the screaming teenagers. I'm not mad I know they were excited...LOL I thought there was some cheesy parts,but kinda expected that. I will go see it again and would recommend it to my peers ( the 30 something crowd). I will say it didn't feel like a 2hr movie and the scene's were rushed...you almost couldn't enjoy and savor those special moments before they moved on to the next scene. Hopefully the next movie will slow it down just a little.

There are definately some parts that will be a lil irritating because of the timeline.I wanted there to be more time of Edward and Bella together, talking, falling in love.But Twilight is by far the best book to movie. I fell in love with the book, I have read it like 3 times. The movie brought my imagination to life. I love to read because i can let my imagination take over, if its well written, and just become part of the book. The movie was dead on. Whomever did the casting was brilliant. The actors, who are all so amazing in their own unique way, work so well together. There was something about each characters story and the way they come together, i am in complete awe. I will go see it again! I hope the others come out soon!

I thought the movie was just one person's interpretation of the book. All of the people who came with me (who had all read the books) thought that anyone who hadn't read the book before viewing it would not understand what was going on. So many important points from the book were not included, while it spent more time on unimportant points added to the movie. Everyone I spoke with agreed that there was minimal character development. How could we possibly have Twilight without learning Carlisle’s past or Alice’s story? I found so many gaps in the storyline that could have been filled in instead of taking that time to feel the awkwardness between Charlie and Bella. Please read the book and remember the magic of the book that the movie lacked.

After reading the Twilight series, I was really looking forward to the movie, but figured that it would in no way live up to the greatness of the book. This turned out to be the case. 2 hours was not enough time to fully develop the story and, if someone had not read the book prior to seeing the movie, they would probably not completely understand what was going on. A lot of scenes were changed from the book to the movie, which isn't a bad thing necessairly, just different. Being the oldest person in the theater last night that was not a parental chaperone (I'm 27), I'm anxious to see what younger folks thought of the movie. Overall, I feel that it is worth seeing, as long as you realize that it doesn't completely follow the book.

I always suggest reading the book before watching a movie when the situation applies. The movie was very true to the book, but I just wish they would have added more. I think some of the transitions were a bit rushed. However, if you had not read the book, then you probably wouldn't have noticed!
Robert Pattinson IS Edward Cullen...his portrayl of this character was spot on! Kristen wasn't quite my Bella in the beginning, but by the time the movie ended I felt like I was sitting at home reading my book...that is a GOOD thing!! Loved how they ended it with you knowing that they are going to make New Moon!! Can't wait!

There aren't very many movies that live up to the book version. But if you took the movie as it is -- a 2 hr attempt at a summary...it was ok! I didn't care for the narrative -- rather a poor attempt at not being able to translate what was a perfectly descriptive story. The best part: the baseball scene -- probably the only scene that lived up to my expectations and beyond!

I loved the books and it made it hard not to compare the books with the movie. I knew they were not going to be the same but the actors did a terrific job. Many people who I talked to think that Edward was not what they expected but once you read Twilight you only see Edward from Bella's perpective not how he really was and I think that the movie tried to show us a little bit more of how Edward felt inside. Like the movie!

This movie was very true to the book which fans will be excited about. Although there is a sort of akwardness throughout the film it just adds to the plot and tension that I felt when I was both watching the movie and reading the books.
The actors portray the characters wonderfully. Pattinson is the perfect Edward and his nonverbals were just unreal. You could tell he truly became Edward. Stewart did wonderfully at capturing both Bella's strength and vulnerability. The whole Cullen clan were just how I pictured them. Alice quirky and wierd; Emmet acting like a jock big brother; Jasper akward because he wants to eat everything around him; Rosalie cold and bitter; Carlisle and Esme loving and compassionate.

I have read the whole series, and I went to this movie with an open mind. I would even say that my expectations of how this movie would be were some what lower than usual. I was not expecting that it would be a waste of my time and money. I can’t believe that anyone would consider that acting. Edward looked constipated more that conflicted, and Bella looked more like a typical damsel in distress rather that the human heroin that I believe she was. The acting was forced and the special effects (if that’s what you want to call them) were cheap. Though this film was low budget, I believe that they could have done a better job. Do not waste your money on going to see this film.

I didn't read any of the books but my 11 year old daughter did. She is a big fan! I enjoyed the movie but it seemed a little low budget and the graphics were not all that great. Overall it was entertaining.

I went last night to see Twilight at the midnight showing. I honestly was somewhat dissapointed in the movie. There wasn't much emotion in the acting of Bella and Edward, even though they are supposed to be madly in love. The scenes were they are developing their relationship were drawn-out and a little too dramatic, probably because this movie is definitely geared more toward the 12-13 year old crowd. There are many small changes, not really affecting the plot, but that may bother the "hardcore" Twilight fan.
I would recommend this movie to my students, but if you are older than the tween crowd you may not enjoy it as much as you would wish.
