I must admit I was a little nervous about the movie. I thought it was going to be nothing like the book, but they managed to sneak in a few key quotes which i thought was nice. :D
THE MOVIE WAS HILARIOUS! especially if you have read the books I think you will laugh. [: a lot of scenes were really awkward and it just made it funny ;D
baseball scene was wonderful ;D
so yea DEFINATLY WATCH !!! [:

At first, I was worried that this movie would be as bad as the book. Don't get me wrong, I was obsessed with the books and read them all within a week, but they weren't that well written. Anyway, I really enjoyed the movie. It was funny in places and almost made me cry in others. The actors did very well and accurately portrayed the roles as described in the book. I would say that you don't need to read the book beforehand to understand the movie but if you have read it, don't go into the theatre expecting it to be exactly like the book. Enjoy the movie for what it is... a movie.

The intro to the movie was wonderful, I was worried when I heard Kristen narrated portions of it, but it came off REALLY well. The only real problem with the film was the flow. It was very choppy and each piece rushed through its content. **SPOILER** However, once Edward brought Bella home to his family, everything in the movie after that met my expectations! I LOVED IT COMPLETELY after that point. I will see it again definitely and I hope that reviews will show the director and actors what to perfect for the next one. The beginning though, was definitely awkard where the pace was concerned and unnecessarily long shots of Edwards gazes/glares. :)

I was It was pure awesomeness. I went and saw the midnight showing on 11/20 and I don’t think that it could have been any better.
Everyone doubted Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, and come to find out he was perfect in every way, shape, and form.
Bella was so cute and Jasper was GREAT! He was probably my favorite, even though he did not say too much in the movie.
Alice turned out to be great and Rosalie, well, she is Rosalie!
Emmett, oh Emmett, he is so beautiful and so fit to the T.
Carlisle and Esme turned out to be the typical vampire parents.
Over all it was great. I have already read all four books so now I am ready for the other movies to come out so I can see them all.

I also think the pace was to fast. I understand the restraints of the format, but there was so much they were not able to put in. It really felt like a movie for the fans. There were many times in the theater where we were all freaking out and I was thinking,"If I brought a friend who hadn't read the book first, they would be total lost right now". I'm not shure how big the appeal will be to non book viewers. There were also a few parts I felt were played a little cheesy, but that wont stop me from seeing it again in the theaters. Mabey a few more times. I here the more you see it the more you catch, partly because it does move so fast. Here's to testing the theroy!

I thought that the movie was good. I think could have been better, but it still had a lot of great moments. There are some scenes that would have been really cute in the movie and I did not like that Jasper was not really talked about. They did not even mention that Jasper has a power too. The movie would have been better if it was longer.

I am 24 years old and I have read all the Twilight Saga books. I LOVE the books! I knew going into the movie that some things would be changed. But the movie spent too much time on those changed parts and not enough time on the story we all feel in love with!! I felt the actors were wonderful and perfect for the parts BUT the directing was too Indi style for me. I thought that this movie would come out blazing with a GREAT intense love story. But it did not. They tried to make the movie too funny when it should have been more of a drama, love story, with intense action. Also, I felt the movie was way too rushed. Hands down the book is WAY better then this movie.

As if it weren't cheesy enough with poor special effects and weak scripting, the acting didn't do the book's character development any justice.
There was too much wrong with this movie for true fans of the book to actually enjoy watching it; instead it was like two hours of torture while someone tried unsuccessfully to explain the book in their own words.
With any luck, the profits turned by this first installment in the series will lead to better production value in the second, and with no shortage of screaming teenage girls, even if the next one is terrible it will make money.

i went to this movie with little knowing of the book, and even for me itwas a bad reflection of the book. seemed they took a book, and actedit outbefore adaptingit
into a screenplay.seemed, with all the oneliners and long pauses in between said oneliners, they were reading from the book instead of a script. i won't delve into the "awesome" graphics involved with running, or any other action sequence.acting was high school quality, with few exceptions. The savior of the movie, was the experience, and having a good laugh with my friends at any time. If you want romance to "aw" at, and shed tears in the process, rent the notebook. If you want a cheesey movie that'll keep you laughing, grab some friends and twilights a go.

Guys seriously I was ready to be let down and was not... at all! It was fabulous. The actors seemed to all definitely read the books and acted their parts beautifully. It did go fast between the parts but it kept you on your toes and not board. there were definitely jokes you wouldn't get if you didn't read the series but i think people could like it as a stand alone. I even heard a few people in the theater as i was leaving say they liked it better then the books because then they didn't have to deal with the subpar writing.

You need to read the book first to get the most out of the movie...not enough charactor development with the Cullen Family and Bella's and Edward's relationship went too fast.
Please pay more attention to these things for the sequels. And it's okay if the movie is longer...a 3 hour movie of this eye candy would be awesome!

Although it is hard to live up to what everyone imagines while reading the book twilight did a pretty good job. Although they cut out a lot of material I thought the story still flowed well. I forced my boyfriend to go and he said he would give it a 2.5 stars and he hates romance! So it truly is a movie you must see. Anyone can enjoy it no matter if you have read the book or not.

I loved this movie. Went with my 15 yr daughter and of course she loved it also.
Our only compliant was that it wasn't long enough.
The story was followed as well as you can for the length of time a movie allows.
My one complaint is that Edward didn't tell Bella, "I wasn't going to live without you". That would have led into the next movie perfectly.
By the way we will be at that one also.

I think many girls that are overly obsessed with the books were disappointed because they over compared the book to the movie. Movies are "based" on the novels not exact replicas. I can envision that if Twilight does well, the sequels will have a larger budget and be longer and more in depth and possibly revisit Twilight through a Midnight Sun movie and pull in all of the "missing parts" later on in the sequel to satisfy the book fans. One can only hope!

I have both read the book and seen the movie. I don't think you need to read the book first, but it might be helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The actors really brought the characters to life. I was not sure that I would like the actors playing the main characters, but all of them really did a great job. Then scenery is beautiful. The story line does move quickly, but I think that is due to the need to put so much information in a short period of time. I think anyone who enjoys teen romance will definitely enjoy this movie.
Also, "Movietickets" was awesome to deal with. I had my ticket in no time at the theater window. Thanks!

I am a 42 yr old mom...and I also am a huge fan of the books! Saw the midnight premiere last night and was not disapointed. I thought the characters were well represented except for Jasper...what a horrible haircut and he was just too weird!! I really did not like Jacob's hair - looked too fake (loved Jacob in the books!) Edward and Bella were great! James - OMG - WOW!He's very hot!! I agree with most reviewers... reading the book is a MUST before you see the movie. And also reading that draft on Stephenie Meyer's website (Midnight Sun) Edward's point of view made me appreciate Edward that much more in the movie. Looking fwrd to the New Moon movie!

I went into the movie expecting to be disappointed since movies never live up to the books.. This movie was no different. This movie was so different from the books. There was things added into the movie that were not in the books and there were things in the book that were not in the movie Big sursprise.. But I loved the movie. It has its own charm. The chemistry between Kirsten and Robert is unbebelievable. I am looking forward to the next movie and hopefully the same director will do that movie.. She did a awesome job.. This film was not at all what I expected. I've read the books and I love them, but I expected the movie to be rather cheesy and lovey-dovey with some fair directing similar to Harry Potter. This movie starts a category of it's own--it was downright hilarious. The entire audience was histerical with laugther for two hours; even dire-hard fans. I'm not sure if this kind of "campy" comedy was intended...but it's definitely worth watching if you need a good laugh. (Much funnier if you've read the book...but don't expect it to be true to the book, because it's simply not.)

i think it was good but it could of been a lot better, she missed things that would of made the movie better, and i dont like how she changed the scenes from the book, she didn't know she was going to prom in the book and in the movie she did. there were just somethings i didnt like but it was a good movie, i rather stick to the book though. i believe she rushed throught it.

WOW! Was this ever a great movie! I had NOT read the books, but caught the fever from my 16 year old daughter. She and I went to the local midnight premier with three of her close friends and a theatre full of fans. I think I had an advantage NOT reading the books, as I was consistently intrigued and pleasantly suprised!
I liked everything about it:a real quality piece of art!

As a fan I was pleasantly suprised at the lack of cheesy-ness. Def think reading the book before helps you understand the depth of the relationship between Edward and Bella. It's pretty true to the book - just on super fast forward. Overall worth the wait and looking forward to next movie!

While it appeared difficult for the screenwriter to fit every juicy detail from the book into the movie, the overall feeling was the same: sweet, innocent, and passionate. I loved the comedic moments and the supporting cast, while under-utilized (i.e. it would have been great to have Alice's role expanded) was terrific. I definitely recommend reading the book first so you can cash in on all of the inside jokes. Still, this under-budgeted film will prove to be a great delight to everyone who sees it. Enjoy.

I think the transition from book to screen was well done. I went to a midnight viewing with a reader and nonreader and we all had no problem following the movie. The nonreader REALLY enjoyed the movie.
