Great Movie; It changed my mind about the actor playing Edward; I didn't care for him that much but now I love him; he was perfect for the part. Can't wait to go back tonight and see it again.

With as much as I enjoyed the book series and with as much hype as there was for this movie you would think that it would, at least, be entertaining. Nevermind the fact that it is far from the book in story; the acting, dialog and effects were awful. And what is up with the facial expressions? Cheesy, pathetic, lame. Don't ruin your book experience by seeing this movie.

For someone who just jumped into the twilight saga

I just finished the last book right before the twilight movie started so i am brand new into the who fanatic society.

I do admit the movie was very good and the people who went with us that had never read the books loved the movie. For someone who has read the books though it is a little frustrating because the events are different but they never add a new twist or anything like that which makes it worth seeing. Deffintly read the book before you see the movie though. PROPS for the actors though the effects were not that fantastic the actors and actresses really brought it out. LOVE THE BOOKS AND MOVIE and i will be seeing it a couple more times while in theater.

I absolutely love the Twilight series. I went to see the movie at midnight opening night. I went in trying not to compare it to the book because I knew it would completely different. Even without compairson I felt the movie was a MAJOR disappointment. The dialog was horrible and it felt more like a blur of events instead of having an actual story line. Sadly, this movie does not come anywhere NEAR doing the book or Stephanie Meyer justice. The only reason why I could recommend this movie to my freinds is to make the appreciate the book even more.

I personally was not impressed with the movie at all. I spent more than half of it confused with what was going on. It moved Incredibly fast, it looked badly pieced together (choppy scenes). Robs acting seemed nonexistant, he was not sexy/smoldering at all, he seemed like his body was tensed and pinched. Bellas emotions were nonexistant, she just had a spaz attack at every turn. It took more than 1/2 way through to pick up and be worth watching. I know movies will never match books to a T, but seriously, this movie was a HUGE expectation for many, with an equally HUGE let down. I am a devout Twilighter and am disappointed to have to review the movie so badly. But i think if Stephenie Meyer was happy with it, then thats all that matters.

I think the movie was good...although, I like the book much better! I agree with the previous reviewer that the movie moved way too fast! But then again the book was almost 500 pages and that's too much detail to put in a movie! I've heard people say that the girl that played Bella had a cold personality..but I think she did an amazing job! and Edward...oh Edward! He's so hot!

The Movie has a great plot simple and wholesome nack about it . Is not too dramatised. The Actors all did a great job of protraying the parts as discibed in the book the scenes move quickly and the pace is fast . You don't leave your seat as this was very comical as well as a faciating drama. That you had to hold still for.
I usually fall asleep in most movies today as they do not hold my interest as they drag on and are too lengthly .
The movie was not to long and the scenes hit mark almost straight on with the book.
Spencful , comical and drama. all in one over al a great movie. would recomend for anyone except real young children who wouldn't understand.

Twilight with no expectations

So I have read all the books to Twilight and I would have to agree with another writer. They moved extremely too fast through out the movie. It seemed like director could have taken time to tell the story. There wasn't as much dialogue as I would have hoped for. I expected something bigger. I thought Bella is portrayed differently in the book vs in the film. I feel the director didn't choose the correct acting style for Bella. Again it went entirely too fast. I know you can't fit everything, but a lot of key points went missing. I probably won't go see the 2nd one at midnight again. All in all it was a good movie. But I would have liked to see performed better. Save your oney, because you know you are going to buy it anyway.

Just as I said the movie was Great! So good that I have to see it again. It was a good rendition of the book. Not the exact same but how many times can they go back to the biology class??? Catherine did a wonderful job and I cant wait for #2 so go out and support Twilight!!!

True to the Book

I am a huge Twilight fan and I went in with a lot of expectations. My expectations were definitely met. However, I went in expecting myself to like it, which may make a difference. I thought that although certain details had to be cut, the movie was very close to the book. I loved Robert Pattinson as Edward and I thought that he and Kristen definitely fit their characters very well. Their relationship was slightly rushed in its' formation, but that is to be expected when you cut a 500+ page book down to a two hour movie. I loved the music and camera work and I overall enjoyed myself.

If you go into this movie with an open mind and a good attitude, I can guarantee you will enjoy it!

The movie was good. There were lots of things left out but I think that had to do with the length of the movie and budget for the first one. The love was not as well established as it was in the book, but again I think that is because it's geared towards people who HAVE read the book. I knew it would be hard to fulfill the HIGH expectations for the movie, but it was better than I thought it would be.

The books were very detailed action packed, and I couldn't put them down. When it came to the movie, everyone was so excited to see it, and when I saw it I was like "Thats it ?" It was really a let down. It moved from scene to scene so fast, and didn't get in everything the book did. The important parts weren't really played out too well either. But the movie in a whole did not reach my expectations. I thought I was going to see this 3 or 4 times. But I'm okay with one. There were a lot of parts of the book left out. And it seems the preview pretty much showed all of the exciting parts. I much prefer to read the book again than see this movie.

I read the series, so of course I loved the movie, I took my mom to the midnight show (she had not read the book) She loved he movie too. I honestly had super high expectations and I think that they were met. Can't wait to go wach it again. I loved LOVED his face expressions, well done. I really wanted more.

I absolutely loved the film. It wasn’t perfect but it still had the heart of the book.
Rob Pattinson did a superb job at being Edward, I loved all his facial expressions!!! It was differently filmed than other movies, but I thought everything flowed very well together and the music was great. I do recommend people to read the book before hand, because there are parts that you will probably not get if you have not read the book. I have to say, the baseball scene was pretty awesome and fun…

Another thing, there were cheesy moments in the film, but gosh I loved it all.

My daughter and I have waited a long time for this movie, so we had high expectations. We saw the midnight show last night in a very lively, crowded theater. I am so surprised and relieved to saw it EXCEEDED all my hopes...Edward was beyond words, and the chemesrty between Edward and Bella was great. I would have to saw that you should definitely READ THE BOOK BEFORE YOU SEE THE MOVIE. I wish I could be a Cullen....

I read the book and absolutely loved it. But the movie, not so much. I found that the movie was SUPER choppy and did not capture the spirit of the characters much less the story.

It felt like the makers were just making a movie for the sake of making a movie, instead of really developing the story and making it flow effortlessly on the silver screen as it did on the written page.

The acting, eh. It could have been better. But if your absolutely smitten by the cast, you might have a hard time being objective.

I feel that it could have been ten times better. Hopefully the following movies in the series (if they decide to make them) will improve.

I have read all the books and took my daugther and her friend to the midnight showing...this movie was great!!! It really helped that I had read the book although not a necessity. It just made it that much more enjoyable. Edward, Emmet, Carlisle, Jacob....gorgeous!! I will be watching this movie again!

I thought the movie was really good. Unfortunatly, all the young girls giggling the WHOLE movie kinda soured it for me. My friends and I didn't understand the big joke. Edward did well, but some of his facial expressions were a little overplayed. The story line kept to the book, but it was kind of rushed and I'd recommend reading it so you get the full effect. Overall, this movie would be best watched by yourself and by people older than 15 so there's not giggling and laughing at all the intimate parts.

As close to the book as your really going to get. I had my doubts when i saw the cast but when you see them on the screen they fit perfectly. I really hope they continue to make them because this one was great! Totally worth my over priced ticket!

Wonderful adaptation. It did move through the story rather fast but did a much better job than I thought would be possible. You do need to read the book first, it will help with understanding parts of the movie. You will still enjoy it, you just won't get parts of it. The actors were all wonderful, great casting by the way.

I saw the movie at 12 on opening day. I prefer the books more than the movie but the movie was still very good. In my opinion everyone should read the books before they see this movie. With the short scenes there is a lot of detail left out and a viewer wouldnt get it unless they have read the book. Edward looked so good and lived up to how i imaged him in the books. There were a few funny scenes that actually had you laughing, especially if you had read the book and actually known the character. All in all this movie was good and id spend the money to go see it again. Hope the next one is just as good.

Twilight meets expectations

I had high hopes for this movie and I was not completely disappointed. It's difficult to have pre-conceived visualizations of characters and places and then be surprised when you see them brought to life, but I feel Bella and Edward were cast accurately and they did a fine job with the portrayal. There were definetely some cheese-ball moments, but they got most of them out of their system early on and I enjoyed the rest of the movie. I am eager for the next installment and would reccommend my fellow readers of the series to see the movie! Watch out for big hair...what's that all about!?

I thought the movie was great! Overall it followed the book very well and even some of the lines in the movie were direct quotes from the book. The only negative I found was some of the camera angles. Sometimes there was too much "swirling around" - it actually made me dizzy and I had to glance at my lap for a moment! It was unnecessary. The only other thing I would mention was the meadow scene - I think the special effects on Edward's sparkling in the sunlight could have been better. The whole movie was shot so "gray" that he didn't seem as bright as he should have. The sunlight wasn't as bright as it was supposed to be.

But that aside, it was a great time and I will be returning to see it a second time! Go Cullens!

if you haven't read the book read it! it makes the movie that much better when certain things are said and done. victoria, alice, jasper, edward, and emmit were just amazing! they really are beautiful people, and just great!! so much of what you see on the screen is how you picture it in the book! great movie! I definately want this when it hits video stores!!!

Thought it was alright towards the end. They could've put so much more in there. I dont think they hit on the important parts. Like Edward acutally leaving instead of just saying he was going to. It jumped around way to much for my liking. Also certain things seemed out of order. And I am definately going to re-read all the books. I hope New Moon is better than this movie...
