While watching the movie I was in love. Then afterwards, being a book reader, I decided to point out all of the missing pieces and faults. I got a bit angry afterward, but overall I liked it. Now today all I can say is obsession. Just like after I read the book, it was all I could think about. Some parts were cheesy, but I was sort of expecting it. It was a lot funnier than I expected too, although some of my laughs came at the cheesy parts :D. I thought the acting was well done and I loved the songs!! It was definitely missing pieces, but if you go in just to see the movie, not the book in a film format, I think you will love it.

Was very good and followed the book close enough to not disappoint too much, is very helpful if you read the book also or you will miss some of the jokes and the movie may not make a lot of sense. but if you didn't read the book it's still easy to follow. there is enough action that the boys can enjoy it too, so girls don't be afraid to drag you man along!

This is a good adaptation of the first book in the Twilight Saga. To capture the major incidents and put them to life was probably a hard decision for the writers and I feel they chose wisely. For all Twilighters out there please go watch this movie with an open mind and accept that this is a point of view on the story we all love.

I would recommend to anyone who is interested in the movie, to read the novel first. I feel that if you don't read and feel the experience through your own imagination, the movie may not be the same. I believe the actors did their best representation of the characters as they could. It will be impossible to satisfy every person that will see the film, because everyone has their own expectations. But for me I couldn't have asked for anymore, Only for them to continue to make the next 3 movies. :D

Let me start by saying the books are AMAZING and the movie does a great job of portraying the basic story line (but as with every book made into a movie, there are quite a few things left out). People that have not read the books will understand the plot and will be able to follow the movie, but I would still urge them to read the books in order to fully understand both the characters and motivations for their actions. The actors and actresses did a great job of fulfilling their roles. I am obsessed with this series, which may have given me a bias to like this movie, but I know if I had not read the books I would still have enjoyed the tale of forbidden lovers Bella and Edward.

I saw the movie at the opening premier it was great! It is packed full of emotion, drama, romance, and adventure. If you haven't read the book yet you'll still be able to enjoy it, though there is some parts that only someone whose who’ve read the book will understand. I literally lost track of time while watching. The only thing I regret is that it was rather choppy and fast paced, plot wise. There were a lot of small things they left out, but they did a wonderful job of putting the main events into the movie. As all movies, made from a book go, it did not fully live up to the to the book, but I was not disappointed…any avid Twilight Fan will enjoy it too. I’ve already recommended it to my friends. I already plan to watch it again.

I so enjoyed this movie and the music in it is awesome. One viewing is not enough for me and I plan on going to see it again. Robert is wonderful as Edward and you really feel his character! And of course, Kristen is lovely as Bella. The best movie I have seen all year, but then again I may be a little basis for I love the Twilight series.

It is possible to enjoy this movie if you haven't read the books but this was a very bad adaptation. The characters were not very well matched and didn't have any depth, the story was rushed, and it was very hard to see the connection between the leads. It felt like the filmmakers didn't care at all about the progression of the love story. Jacob and the Quileutes, however, were very good, Taylor is going to make a great Jacob.

First, You must read the books before you see the movie or you'll be lost for the most part. Other than that... The best movie of the year if not a few years. I'm so Twilight obsessed I was afraid the movie wouldn't follow the book, but it over exceeded my expectations! I'm more obsessed with Rob Pattinson, and he heats things up just nicely as well ;)... Everyone enjoy all things twilight, but remember to READ THE BOOKS FIRST!

I went into Twilight with the expectations of it being good but not great. It was better than I expected. It followed the books pretty well and almost* each person cast fit the character perfectly. Special effects seemed a little low budget but I still really enjoyed it. It left me excited for them to make more.

I just HAD to see this before I burst, so I got tickets to the midnight show. WELL worth my lack of sleep at work! Everything I was hoping to see. Only bad part is... Like most GREAT books, there is not enough film time to have it all make it to the screen. I will go see this again and buy it when & if it comes out on DVD

I have read the Twilight series several times and this movie captures the book fairly well. It did move a little to fast, but that is to be expected. I aso think that even if you have not read the book you would love the movie. Yes, there are scenes and inside jokes that only a person who read the book would get, but you will still understand the movie if you have not readthe book. Over all my favorite movie ever!

I thought that it was really good! Of course it didn't compare to the book but then what movie can? Rob and Kristen were great and so was everyone else.
I think that some parts moved very quickly and if you didn't read the book, you might get confused. But, otherwise I think that they will improve with each new movie.

I could sense the misery and conflict within Pattinson's Edward and the confusion and want in Stewart's Bella. The lion and the lamb came through in all their tortured misery and euphoria. Stewart and Pattinson simply WERE Bella & Edward. The other characters were cast correctly, as well - Jasper's quiet and often comical fear and newness of being around humans came across wonderfully. Alice's charisma and charm left fans smiling from her energy. Rosalie's anger smacked. Carlisle's compassion shone. The film was a visual stunner with breathtaking scenes of "Forks" and the love that perpetuates this film also perpetuated the viewer. Even non-readers of the book could get the phenomenon that is Bella & Edward.

I agree with others who say that it's crucial to have already read the book before you see the movie. I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much as I did had I not read the novel first. There are some parts that are cheesy, but the book is cheesy so the movie stays mostly true to the book.

I have read all the books several times and last night I saw the midnite showing (which I waited 3 hours for at the theater), and I was not dissapointed for the wait!! I am a Twilight fanatic!! The movie was utterly amazing. There was hardly anything left out of the movie aside from lil insignificant things (like school days, etc) and a couple things were different, but overall, the movie definately did the first book justice!! I plan to go see it again this weekend. But if you are going to see it, I strongly urge you to read the book first, that way you understand it. I def recommend the movie!! And I can't wait until New Moon comes out in the movies!!MUST SEE!!

Before seeing this movie, I read and reread all 4 books. I love them. Sitting in the theater waiting for the show to begin girls were screaming, guys were chanting, and people were on the edge of their seats waiting in anticipation for 12:01 to arrive. The movie began shortly after and went by too fast. It was amazing. The best movie I had seen all year. There is no wonder why 6 theaters were needed. The fight scene was amazing, and the love between Bella and Edward was beautiful the cast was perfect and hilarious. It was as if you were watching a modern day twisted up weird fairytale that hardly made any sense but you love because the romance shown was BEAUTIFUL! KUDOS to This movie CANT WAIT TO SEE IT AGAIN!

We went to the midnight showing and it was worth the wait!! Edward was stunning!! If you haven't read the book you will be lost in some of the parts. The movie moves so fast.... if you don't know the book it may be hard to keep up. I'm going again tomorrow with my husband (who hasn't read any of the books) and I will see if this theory is accurate.
The effects were dynamic and I simply can't wait until the next movie comes out.
For now, I think i will have to reread Twilight for the 3rd time!!!

As most Twilight Fans, I love the books and realized the movie would not be exactly like the book. I don't feel they did a lot of character development in the beginning of the film to help show the building love story. I thought from the meadow scene on. it was very good. But the beginning was almost a highlight reel of the book rather than showing the mutual attraction between the two main characters. So much of the book is some of the sweetest and endearing dialogue that engages the reader to the book. Omitting this from the movie leaves the audience member feeling they missed something. But I am excited how they ended with Victoria.

The movie was really good! I enjoyed the casting and it was nice to see it somewhat put into perspective instead of just in my own mind. I really had a good time. The only thing is that they moved really fast throughout the movie from scene to scene and the entire store went so fast. For someone who has not read the book, they would be a little confused on how the love developed so quick. Rob Pattison did such an amazing job with his emotions and played his character as well. Same with the school kids, cullen family and everyone else. A few small parts they left out which I thought they should have in, but overall great movie and will buy it to have as part of my collection!

it was an incredibly well done movie from start to finish. it didn't stray f rom the book, the cinematography was brilliant, the scenery breath-taking, the acting incredible, and the chemistry between bella and edward everything readers would expect and more. the movie went by qucikly, and it left you wanting more...now! it's not only a must see, but a must see again and again. also, if you haven't read the books, you are missing out.

Readers of the books, you will not be disappointed. The movie follows the book’s story line very closely, with acceptable deviations. Up side: the visuals were spectacular (all the visuals!) The acting was excellent. The dialog was true to book and witty. Best Surprise: Jasper – I could not help but laugh every time his tormented face was on screen.
On the down side: The pace during the first half was slower than I would have liked. There were a few points I had to close my eyes to stop from getting dizzy due to the spinning camera angles. The piano lullaby was a poor choice. Biggest Disappointment: the wardrobe! I hope for the next book they have a bigger budget, more talented stylists or kinder vendors.

I thought the movie was great. Rob and Kristen's chemistry was amazing. They really pulled off Bella and Edward. I think that they left off a couple key scenes and even though you don't have to read the book to get the movie it sure helps. I also think that they condensed the film so some of it seems to move to fast. I also really liked Charlie's character. Overall I would recommend this movie, I'll be seeing it again and again.

I am a huge fan of the book. I tried 2 remind myself that it wouldn't be near as good as the first book, but dang? Bella looked the part her acting was dreadful. The director/screen writer clearly had no understanding of the novels. I don't think that it could be any clearer that Summit had no idea what a huge fan base Twilight had when they bought the rights. So what was good then - Edward was super and given better direction and a bigger budget I have no doubt he will be great! The Cullen clan too! The love scene in the bedroom was better then the book! I'm just crossing my fingers that they don't skimp on the next 3 films.

Saw it 1201 AM with my 15 yo daughter and her friend (I'm the 58 yo dad). Before the movie I was: why did I agree to lose sleep to see this ?(though I liked the book very much and am reading New Moon now)
Afterwards, it was: "Wow. That was great. Definitely worth losing sleep over. The 2 lead actors are amazing, especially Bella. Seeing it with a large enthusiastic audience of maybe 95% teenage girls helped. It was very intense, and I was blinking back tears on several occasion. It brings back the feelings of first teenage love.
Movie wasn't entirely faithful to the book, maybe 70%, but it was very high quality, similar to, perhaps better than, the Harry Potter series.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
